My good bye message to my cat Cheolsu(Pet update)

My grandma always told me that when a pet that is apparently healthy suddenly dies it's because they gave their life for their owner's. That when the angels come to collect a soul, the pet chooses to go instead of its owner. Cheolsu must've loved you a lot Dave! I hope you feel a little better now that some time has passed ♥

When my cat died I didn’t really tell anyone either, didn’t post on social media, because I wanted to grieve at my own pace. Losing a pet can definitely be just as hard as losing a human family member. Rest In Peace Cheolsu.

데이브, 이 세상 모든 감정을 다 공감할 수 없지만 저도 가족같던 반려동물을 떠나보냈기에 데이브가 느낀 후회, 절망, 슬픔을 이해할 수 있어요.
전 집에 들어가기 싫어서 일부러 술자리도 막 만들고 왁자지껄하게 다니다가 집에 돌아오면 어두운 빈 집에서 혼자 펑펑 울었어요. 지금도 가끔 울어요. 10년동안 내 집에 나 혼자 남을 일은 없었는데...
펫로스 증후군에 빠진 이들을 보며 유난이라며, 주접 떤다며 아무렇지 않음 발언하는 사람들 아직도 많아요. 겪어보지 않은 슬픔에 함부로 말하는 것은 옳지 않다 생각해요. 그 사람들 말과 다르게 전 진짜 과장 하나 안보태고 누가 제 머리와 등 뒤에서 쾅쾅 때리는 것처럼, 살점이 도려내져서 갈기갈기 찢어지는 슬픔을 겪고 있어요. 길고도 짧은 지난 1년은 지옥 같은 시간이었어요.
그래도 남은 사랑스러운 귀염둥이들이 있으니 데이브 힘내요! 슬픈거 비정상 아니에요, 자연스럽고 당연한거에요.
철수도 안녕, 무지개 너머 행복하길.

I love how all your pet are mild mannered, it shows what kind of parent you are, so you should not blame yourself for what happened to cheolsu. It's not your fault

The last time i cried in years was when i had to put my dog down after 15 years. Our pets are closer than family most times

I just can’t cope with animals dying it breaks me. I watched the whole vid but I’m still crying cuz of Cheolsu. Cats hide their illness and their pain so well that oftentimes we don’t know until it is too late. And I say that as the kind of cat mom who rushes over to look at them after they sneeze, so I’m not saying it lightly. Sometimes we just can’t know. And I think that hurts most because we feel regret more and “what if’s” and we beat ourselves up about it when it was really out of our hands. I understand & Im sorry you went through that - luckily you have video footage proving what a great life he had and how loved he was while he was with you.

I can only imagine how hard it is for Dave to lose a pet since they are like his family. Despite all of the friends he has, his pets are really his only family that he has in Korea.
I'm glad he was able to mourn on his own terms and CheolSu had such a wonderful owner who looked after him for the duration of his life.

Yesterday, my lil cat Nebby passed away because She suddenly stoped eating... without warning she stoped eating... at least she is in a better place now... I feel your loss, Dave.

watching this made me miss my best friend, Kute who is also only five years old when he passed away last march 08, 2020. i totally get what you mean by losing a pet is like losing a family member. especially when they gave you so much joy and strength in your everyday life. Kute helped me get through college and helped me keep my feet on the ground when my mind gets a little foggy. it’s so sad that we dont have our companions with us anymore, but at least they’re in a better place now. more power to you dave! 🥰
