in all fairness, the pictures were already public in their profiles but yeah... its a lot more embarrassing to see people's reactions in person than not see them at all (or just see comments for that matter)

Well first off i would assume these audience members are asked before hand for their permission. So everything said henceforth is just semantics,. If this was a surprise to them then i would have to agree that it is wrong to do so. why would it even matter if the photos are public or private. It's not surprising Ellen thinks this is the norm, because for a celebrity its normal for shows to have segments talking and joking about them without permission so why not just flip that on the audience. Well essentially it is a different situation to me because the person has been unwillingly trapped in that situation. And has to sit there and defend themselves from speculatory accusations from the host and crowd. Now obviously everything was fun and games and Ellen meant no ill intent and the audience members were fine with participation it would seem so no harm no foul. But i still ponder whether more people would be outraged if Ellen was a man bringing up some skimpy Halloween costume and that lady's pole dancing classes. Just on a side note, i hate that people think pole dancing is some kind of normal exercise without its own set of problems. As if it being in a dance studio and your choice makes it somehow not the same tool sex dancers have been using to turn men's brains to mush since it was first conceived . And why when you pick up a dance thats ment to be slutty and designed to gain sexual attention would you ever at all be surprised that a man has responded to you in a sexual way. To me that is like being angry you caught a bear, when alls you have been doing is setting bear traps. Sure you might be using those bear traps for another purpose but they are still gonna work the same way. :\
Or you just leave a silly photo which is not all that bad, so that they show it and gift you something, yet you don't get embarrassed like people with pictures in thongs. :D

If you're really that embarrassed of a picture: a. Don't upload it (which is preferable), b. Delete it, or c. Set the picture (or your profile) to private. Easy as that.
Besides, if she shows your photo on her show, she gives you an ipad. I'd take the embarassment for a free ipad. Though not for that last pic thats a bit much lol.

I think it's really good that Ellen does this, because besides being funny and making us laugh - it's quite educational. Nowadays people literally have no boundaries when it comes to social networks such as Facebook and everyone should be aware that everything they upload on facebook is PUBLIC. Facebook isn't a place for your nudes and pictures you would be embarassed of. Remember, anyone can see your profile, your boss, co-workers, family, students (if you're a teacher) etc.
So love what you do Ellen. When my little girl came out to me at 15 she thought I'd react badly. I told her that she was and would ever be my little girl. I said that if she turned out with a heart like you she couldn't go wrong.

I think it's really good that Ellen does this, because besides being funny and making us laugh - it's quite educational. Nowadays people literally have no boundaries when it comes to social networks such as Facebook and everyone should be aware that everything they upload on facebook is PUBLIC. Facebook isn't a place for your nudes and pictures you would be embarassed of. Remember, anyone can see your profile, your boss, co-workers, family, students (if you're a teacher) etc.
