Even DC said in commentary that since he’s fighting in boxing stance his movement is heavy and room is available for Dustin for leg kicks. Few years back I was pretty fed up with Conor, especially after the incident with that old man at the pub. I loved his showmanship but the money did change him. After seeing this I have a newfound respect for the guy. He sounds so much more mature and composed. Great to see. I don't know if fighting really is for him anymore tho... he already achieved everything in his mid/late 20s, now he's in his 30s and has kids and literally everything he could ever need, rich beyond dreams. I am mind blown they didn't expect calf kicks. Dustin's team practically said there gameplan (kicks/clinches).. Disappointing especially because his endurance looked improved.
Conor never really had to fight calf kickers when he fought orthodox stance fighters. But when he fights another southpaw stance fighter that calf kick becomes really problem as they can now use stronger leg on lateral calf where the peroneal nerve are. Conor's leg was completely toasted in second round.

Few years back I was pretty fed up with Conor, especially after the incident with that old man at the pub. I loved his showmanship but the money did change him. After seeing this I have a newfound respect for the guy. He sounds so much more mature and composed. Great to see. I don't know if fighting really is for him anymore tho... he already achieved everything in his mid/late 20s, now he's in his 30s and has kids and literally everything he could ever need, rich beyond dreams. Hard to keep that fire burning hot when that's your life. That said it would be interesting to see him committing himself 100% to boxing

But when he fights another southpaw stance fighter that calf kick becomes really problem as they can now use stronger leg on lateral calf where the peroneal nerve are.
