- We are taking a peek behind the scenes at all of the painful prosthetics, consumed and makeup the actors in The Witcher, seasons 1 and 2, had to deal with. From sitting in the makeup chairs for hours on end to get stuffed into a perfectly form-fitting costume to wigs destroying actors' hair there's a lot going on behind the scenes. Shows that exist in the fantasy drama often have to deal with some larger-than life costumes, that much is for certain. And when you've got an extremely successful video game creating high expectations, it can be a bit hard to cater to the game and also find artistic freedom within the design. Video game Geralt has the added benefit of not needing to worry about the functionality of his suit the same way Henry Cavill does. Can you guess what he did to break the suit in? Or what he did that almost blinded him? You read that right. And it was his own fault! And you won't believe how he managed to destroy all of his costumes so quick. Freya Allan struggled with the bleached eyebrows. Anya Chalotra has had her share of heavy costumes as well as some incredibly painful prosthetics that resulted in massage therapy after wrapping. Prosthetics are a beast. This is true for Kristofer Hivju, Basil Eidenbenz, and Bart Edwards who played Nivellen, Eskel and Duny respectively. Yes, even the smaller characters like the ghouls have their own struggles. Truly it is unavoidable with prosthetics all over your face! And we'll take prosthetics over CGI any day of the week!

That eybrows, that's it... The whole season two i couldn't figure out why Ciri looks so different (appart from aging, but i couldn't believe it's just that). Now when they point it out, i can finally put my finger on what bugged me so much...
not surprised about Cavill dedication... he is such a Witcher Nerd, he will make sure he portraits him right... I can#t believe the rope dress is 22 kilos... thats insane

Ciri's eyebrows - does her makeup artist heard about makeup? You can make them lighter without bleaching them.
For Ciri, couldn’t they have used temporary dye? Or added a form of prosthetics. Honestly, she looked too aged up in S2. Preferred her more in S1, simpler look. Now she looks as old as Yenefer.

Omg thanks i thought The Same think. She looked completly different, the horrible wig, the foundation , etc. I mean Ciri in the games has dark eyebrows and I would have been okay with it if the rest would have looked good
generally, no. I'm quite familiar with not only dye/bleach but also sfx makeup and there isn't really anything that would have looked good that would have hidden her brows nor would it have prevented loss of hair. not to mention, bleach is permanent.
I think the issue was that instead of just giving her a decent wig (to prevent damage and hair loss from bleach) and leave her brows alone, they had decided to let ciri wear more makeup due to her actress feeling uncomfortable with looking so young. and while I sympathize with her, I do still think that the makeup team should leave the rest of the makeup alone that way she can believably play a 12-16 year old in the coming seasons.
I love their dedication to the roles! That's why it's so Good! They've got true fan's making it come to life and they're doing an amazing job! 😍
Kristofer Hivju was decked out in a half boar, half bear costume that was as frightening as it is real. The amount of realism the costume captured is entirely due to the fact that is used a lot of prosthetics.

I think ciri looks like she grew way tooo fast in season 2... as if she went from 12 to 18 in blink of a season due to her "NEW MAKEUP".
I'm an actor myself, and yes. I would willingly suffer through all of the prosthetics for this show. I'm a huge Wither fan. I find everything worth it, with Henry Cavill as the lead.

Geralt is a Witcher, always searching for money and don't have the luxury to eat everyday so the Witcher isn't muscular like that fit but close to skinny also this is totally not accurate

i like how they lie about these, most of the time they dont even complain, sometimes even enjoy the process, yes it can be uncomfortable for them, but in these videos you guys act like they were suffering in 0-24, while in the making of xy videos they never complained about these.
It's definitely the best show going right now apart from The Boys, i just love how they're actually dishing out real money for them for a change.

@@thefurrmily2404 It's great! done by Eric Kripke who produced Supernatural up to season 5, it's based on the comics which is a parody of superheroes but they're evil and corrupt instead of good with a rebel group trying to fight against them, i have to warn you though it can be a bit gory and has gross humor so if that's too much for you tune out but being an SPN fan i'm right there with it lol.

Costumes are really better compare to season 1 but makeup ciri is not good look old and matured compare to yennefer in season 2 . The script of season 2 is completely butchered books and painful to watch it and season 2 gives me good sleep because of boring and lame script
