It is so cool to see youngsters who are not yet able to swim have fun in the water doing this thing called skimming. I can see that in due time time these mighty skimboarders will have learned enough and had enough bravery to go into waters above their heads without panicking and that in a very short time they will be giving up those skimboards to the recycle bin for a big mans board! A surfboard! Finally with the fear of drowning behind them they can go catch real waves and have grownup fun finally! Surfs up and no fears! Congratulations soldiers!

Nice!! in the late seventies me and my friend made our own skimboard painted shellac and a lightning bolts and when the waves were small in Huntington Beach California we would skimboard all day and get ball raw. Oh yeah and hit the Wedge for bodysurfing!!

I love waves. They are so cool when people surf them when they are just a mound. I love How it goes perfectly smooth when it’s about to crash into the water or ground. Waves are an amazing thing. Us humans have done well to figure out how to harness them and let them propel us.

I haven’t touched my board since I was 19. I still have my Victoria in my closet. This makes me want to bring it with me to the beach next time and see if I still got it. Probably not though! lol

I was at the beach this past summer learning how to do this. This is MAD difficult. I didn't successfully ride a wave till the end of the week! I snowboard, surf, ski and skate too!
