Blows my mind that I was probably 12-13 years old, eating lunch and watching Bam skate, now here I am in my mid-30s eating lunch and watching Bam skate.

Bam was the reason I started to skate at 14 & I'm 35 now. my first deck was an element board design he had at the time. Like he was literally my hero. I hate seeing him going through his trials but I'm happy to see he still can smile despite it all

I was just watching his tmz video like 4 nights ago, and it just felt hopeless for him. I mean felt bad about jackals but sided with them, he was kind of a wreck. But does feel therapeutic to watch, it's like, he's an idol, even if a Phil now, so somehow makes me feel better knowing he's not in infinite misery, and didn't do anything permanent like end his life or something, which i think many thought he'd drive himself there after Ryan died.
I hope he can rehab up some more and get a new TV show and maybe make his own Jackass movie without the others.

I don't know if he knows this but he's still got the ability to make a lot of people so nostalgic and happy to see him enjoy skating and be around skaters like this again. You can see how much he still loves it and may have forgotten that himself for a quick minute.

After Dunn’s passing, I saw how dramatically that impacted Bam and his life from that moment on. He’s had some rough times, but I’m so happy to see him doing what he loves again. Best of luck to you, Bam. You got this .
Yup best friend dies and he's a millionaire with nothing to do....... That's a bad combo when you're so hurt inside and you have all the money to drown yourself in addiction for the rest of your life. He just needs to know that we all love and care. I love seeing him riding with Andy too, people like Andy and Steve-o can really help him because they were way more gone when they were using and they turned their lives around. If Andy or Steve can do it then anyone can.
Steve O debunked this recently on his podcast. He said that bam has had a substance abuse problem for a while, Ryan Dunn was at his first intervention.
That is not really debunking, his own mother has said that Ryan dying had a big ass impact on his even bigger abuse of alcohol the years afterwards. Just because Ryan was their at first does not mean it didn't send Bam into a downward spiral.
Couldn’t agree more. Everyone is gonna judge, but loss and addiction is the absolute worst combination. I just pray he stays on the right path. Keepin the good vibes!

I just bought a board 2 weeks ago after not stepping a foot on a board since 2014-2015. Also like 50lbs heavier so it's tough. But I still got most of my tricks but damn is it hard on my feet and breathing since I'm a meatball just like bam. Keep it going bro life's to short to live in vain. Absolutely, he probably realised that years ago unfortunately addiction carries on taunting him. He just needs good people and constant support.
Bam has always been pretty humble and accessible. He never left his home town, he hung out with the locals and bars. He's not some snobby celeb.

Trust me I’d love to see Bam on his feet since I was around and grew up the golden age of 2002-2008 watching CKY, Jackass and Viva La Bam. Downloaded them using dc++/RevConnect and then Bittorrent when it got popular…. good times.
I even made subtitles for Jackass 1 in my own language to kids/anyone who didn’t understand English at that point. 😎

I think it's fascinating how skaters keep their muscle memory even many years after skating. My coworker who gave up skating for like 10 years busted out a kickflip in like 3 tries on my board lmao
@@GreenMachineOG - This happens to me with downhill mountain biking - I'm 29 and I've gotten quite lazy so I barely cycle if at all unless I'm on some big mountain resort with ski lifts and gondolas. Like 3 weeks ago I went DH MTBing for the 1st time since July 2019... and I swear to God I've never been faster or smoother, I was hitting jumps I used to roll like nothing!

My one friend who I’m 95% sure has depression pretty much refuses to do anything but stay inside all day making music and smoking weed. 9/10 when I ask him to go skate he just says he’s not feeling it. You can lead a horse to water🤷🏼♂️ becoming a recluse is probably the worst thing for depression but hey it’s his life

This literally made my day, seeing bam skating again and getting his life together is the beat thing to happen
I wish he would get his life together. The opening monologue was mostly an explanation for what his behavior might have been that caused Jeff Tremaine to get a restraining order against him and kick him out of Jackass 4. No doubt seeing him skate is a positive development, though.
He's far from being alright. This may be a step in the right direction, but he's not quite there yet.

I think there's a lot of good reasons not to publicly state numbers of days sober, but he doesn't even say he's currently sober or acknowledge the results of the rehab stays. Everyone should assume he's not sober. Super positive that he's spending time skating. That is a pathway to recovery. Part of that is also going to be owning responsibility for his missteps. He's externalizing it by mentioning the hex on him. The problem and the solution is within Bam Margera.
