Honestly the fact that the truck, with that much air resistance on it, did that well is amazing.
I have a "lesser" version, a 2018 F150 5.0 with a Roush Supercharger on it, 650 hp 610 torque, and I can tell you its really quick off the line, like 4 seconds 0-60 if you launch just right. AWD so you will beat the average sports car who is on a normal road. Also, you can go off road, and carry 5 people or stuff, so I'm happy with the truck.

300 hp is 100% needed in these 5000 lb trucks. They need a lot more TQ than that to pull things or work offroad. 300 hp is okay for a family sedan, but it's no where near enough for a fast car. My 5th Gen Camaro SS with over 400hp (stock) felt slow to me. That's why I modded it like I do with all my cars.
Now ridiculous power to weight ratios you need to look at Motorcycles these days. You can get over 200 hp (stock) on a bike that weighs close to 500 lbs. Now that's crazy speed for something anyone with a little money can go buy. Just imagine these people with no experience riding going out and buying a BMW S1000RR or H2? These people are out there. I've been riding motorcycles my whole life and I'm still amazed by the speed of these bikes from 40-150 mph. It's crazy. Even a Corvette with 1000 hp will get beat by one of these bikes (anyone can buy) from 40 - 150 mph. You can take your motorcycle driver's test on a 125 cc enduro and then go buy an H2. That's insane.

Most of the compact/midsize SUVs and sedans comes with 200-300 HP and sub-compact segment usually somewhere in the upper hundreds. So in American POV if you can have Camry with 300HP you probably want a bit more for your "sporty" car.

The super snake would absolutely shit all over the raptor lol. That’d be as boring of a race as this was. They’re the same truck. So they weigh relatively the same, and have the same aerodynamics. Yet the super snake has 320 more hp than the raptor...the Raptor has 450hp, the super snake 770hp...We don’t need to see that ass whooping. It’s just as obvious as this who’d win man smh. The company Hennessy though has plans to make a version of the bronco on its 2021 release with 750 hp. Now that against the super snake would be a good match.

Truck makers have never provided large enough brakes for what the vehicle is capable of, either in speed or trailering thousands of pounds down mountains. It’s a shame as so many trucks suffer warped rotors at the least, have to use runoff lanes in a worse case of brake fade.
Vegas EMT Same here. I’ve never had warped brakes on my trucks (except my old 2005 F150 that was known for warping). The brake system is stronger than what the truck can handle. You can only apply so much brake pressure before the tires lock up which does you no good.
@@Treyk901 Why would it lock up if it has ABS, which they all do? And no, trucks do not brake well compared to cars. This is a 770 HP truck capable of going much faster than normal trucks, it absolutely needs better than standard brakes.

@@Goooooodnight It's going to be made by SVE which is basically Chevys Shelby. They're basically taking a Colorado and stuffing a ZR1 engine and trans in it. They're limiting production to 100 though so expect it to be extremely expensive and more than likely a novelty collectors vehicle. There's also been talk of them also building a less crazy version which would use a modified single cab Colorado and using the 3.6 TT from the ATSV with around 500hp and all time AWD.
4x4 on, locker on, sport mode on, traction control off, and it's a whole different animal.

So to try and pick on the vette by resorting it to a drag strip is kinda sad and sounds very desperate to try and make something seem bad.. after all it's a drag race .. that's not where most people are going to go to say one car is faster then the other.. it's only one of the many types of races that you could test these cars on to determine who's "faster"...

@@Mr.Beastforpresident I just bought a 2020 gt350 and it puts my f150 brakes to shame. They are massive but they are not slotted or drilled. Ford went away from those in 2020 to extend pad life but the rotors are the size of the rim lol and stop really good and I'm talking on a dime. Ford just needs bigger rotors on the f150 so you can actually stop.

I drive a 5.0 f150 for my job, and I can say, it looses traction on the rear wheels very often. It’s almost undrivable in snow, in a good way ;)

I've raced your exact truck in my 07 grand Cherokee, limited, with a hemi.. lighter and a bigger motor didnt do shit to that 5.0.. we red light raced for a solid 30min, rolling starts, launch, everything and that 5.0 beat me every single time. After 40mph it wasn't even close! I saw the 5.0 badging and wasn't aware they even made those for f150.. I was in love from that moment on (I've owned f150s, 500s, etc all my life) .. gota be faster than a lightning .

You won’t. You’re paying for performance not luxury and in the case of the F-150 you’re also paying for the Shelby name which is an extra 20-30 grand
Joshua Earnheart the reason it looks loose is when Shelby put in their interior package the door panels weren’t correctly put back together. I’d even bet they broke the plastic snap in bits cause they are unbelievably easy to snap.
Still it isn’t a excuse anything over 100k has no excuse for breaking like that

the tbss came in both awd and rwd. guys convert the awd to rwd to make them faster. the fastes tbss in the country is rwd. and those were suvs designed by the manufacturer to be fast. these are f150s that shelby grabbed and made into fast trucks.

I still want the truck! Lol great video. I have a 5.0 F150 and it is terrifying when that truck is going over 100mph. Its so scary, because its so big and heavy, It should not ever go faster than 100mph lol 😆. But its fun driving a truck in the snow in 4x4 high, and going off road not worrying about scratching the bottom.

@jayjaylenchase75 Mustangs are technically in the same class as Camaros. Vettes are supposed to be in the next class up, especially if they are mid engine. All three are great cars now.

@jayjaylenchase75 To be fair, the GT is a way more money, hand built race car that had to be made into a street legal car it be able to race and win Lemans again. Also an amazing investment because they already are doubling in value and will only go up. Having said that, the C8 is absolutely sick and especially for the price. An affordable supercar that is in reach for though of us that are not rich, I would love to own one, one day. Peace

Why in the hell do they think it's a fair race when they're using a 2wd truck that weighs twice as much. Doesn't matter how much power you have if it weighs too much. Using a 4wd would've actually made it a race.
