In my 20s, I worked for a local high-end men's clothing store. When Pop had to attend my brother's graduation in Texas, an executive w/Mobil Oil bought him a very expensive suit, a brand our store carried. One day as he was getting ready for church, I noticed the waistband was coming separated from the seat near the back right pocket. I was shocked and told him that if he would send the pants back to the company, they would repair it or replace it for no charge. He looked back at it, shrugged, and said, "It's all gonna burn." He was right. And he always knew there was something far greater and more wonderful than a fancy suit or a fine house at the end of the road. Still, God has been so good to us. He and Mom are now in their 80s, and while it's still hard living on fixed incomes sometimes, the church he served in still looks after us and I know they would do anything we really needed. These false prophets like the one above have received their reward. I hope they can say it was worth it come judgement day.

In my 20s, I worked for a local high-end men's clothing store. When Pop had to attend my brother's graduation in Texas, an executive w/Mobil Oil bought him a very expensive suit, a brand our store carried. One day as he was getting ready for church, I noticed the waistband was coming separated from the seat near the back right pocket. I was shocked and told him that if he would send the pants back to the company, they would repair it or replace it for no charge. He looked back at it, shrugged, and said, "It's all gonna burn."
He was right. And he always knew there was something far greater and more wonderful than a fancy suit or a fine house at the end of the road. Still, God has been so good to us. He and Mom are now in their 80s, and while it's still hard living on fixed incomes sometimes, the church he served in still looks after us and I know they would do anything we really needed. These false prophets like the one above have received their reward. I hope they can say it was worth it come judgement day.

It's hard on Mom and I, she at 85 and I at 63 with my own health issues, though we are both active and thinking clearly (though some may wonder about me! Lol!). We need a whole new level and kind of grace, but God has been so good to us in spite of everything. I tell you what, _gratitude_ is a 24 hour endeavor, but it's worth it. Without it, the slip into "stinkin' thinkin' " is inevitable (Romans 1:21). God bless!
