Most of the 1D members had terrible auditions and passed individually based on likeability. Glad they became a group, they balanced each other well together.
Liam was really good, Zayn was good. The rest - oh so bad.
@@jamarti1234 to be fair to them, they auditioned before shows like the xfactor/bgt/agt started using live autotune - all talent shows now use live autotune on auditions to make them sound better. These guys didn't have that because back then, they didn't use it and regardless of that - simon still saw enough talent in them to put them together in a group which ended up being one of the biggest British boy bands of 2010s

I agree! I still cry, I still cheer for her, I still fall in love with her voice all over again. She really woke people up about making judgements on someone's appearance.

It's crazy how close Harry Styles got to being instantly kicked out and never heard or seen from again. It makes me wonder about all the amazing talent that must have auditioned for music execs over the decades and just been turned away. Even someone with the insane talent of Kelly Clarkson couldn't get a break until she went on American Idol.
I really don't think that his music is all that great myself but that's my opinion and I would never buy any of his music. Now I am not saying that he can't sing good it's just none of his songs are that good. If he done some cover songs and put them out on a album I would probably buy it but it would just depend upon what he covers.

Loren Allred absolutely gives a person chills ; she is so good,, it is like she transports you to a different time and place. It is as if you have gone back 100 years and the Wizard of Oz has not been made yet. It is as if you have never seen another show , and your brain is just awakening to how incredible someoneโs voice can be. Thank God she did this audition. I have watched it so many and I canโt put into words words the feeling her voice brings. Simons face just says it all

She is unbelievable and so happy she came out from behind the curtain. Not only is she gorgeous, but has a gorgeous voice that is unmatched.

Who would have thought that a 16 year old boy like niall who was kinda have a shaky voice in audition will become a member of one of the biggest boyband 1d and even become the voice coach for 2 season with a back to back winner coach. His dream came true when he said in the audition to the judges that he wanna be as big as them someday. Proud of Niall. โค
I hate how they judged Susan initially based on her looks .. just shows how shallow we humans are , her voice is phenomenal, her version of Wild horses is so beautiful!

Some fantastic performances in there, but honestly, Susan Boyle's performance was stratospherically outstanding. The choice of song could not have been more apt up until that moment in her life when everything changed.
Susan was so funny, so cheeky. It's obvious she was nervous but she stood her ground and let them have it.
Susan Boyle is still my favorite. It was fantastic to see it all, all the emotions from everyone and then the outcome, the song choice of her and that voice of her. Beautiful๐ซถvery beautiful.

Wow until now Im still moved by these incredible performances, I was teary eye when 2 young boys performed and shout out their bad experiences of bullying.
I instantly fell in love with those two little boys! I've watched that over and over and Over!!โค
"Never judge a book by it's cover" , is the old saying. It is very true ! ( yes, the judges go through many, many contestants) . In this case Susan Boyle showed us all up after she sang her first song "I Dreamed A Dream" . She signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco Entertainment. She has released eight albums in 11 years and is doing exceptional ! I remember seeing this as well as others live, wow ! Some great talent came out of these talent shows.
I wish that when she sang, "Never Enough" that the public was in total silence! ๐so beautiful! โค

I love Calum Scott's voice it's so lovely. It's soooo soothing to hear can't get over but to rewind it so many times.
His enunciation is wonderful. When he sings, the lyrics are clearly understood.

I love the nod Susan Boyle gives them at 1:16:10, almost as if an appreciation for those who finally could see her. She showed all those in the audience who began with smug, judgmental looks on their faces, how shallow they were. What an absolute POWERHOUSE!

Olly Murs was very sweet. His dancing mixed with his shyness, good song choice and possibly a bad run of auditions right before him seems very likely to be what got him through to the next round here, so take note future auditioners. Attitude is a very underestimated part of this audition gig! :)

Wow, Camila stood out leaps and bounds ahead of her "Fifth Harmony" group...I didn't know who she was when I watched this, just thinking 'holy that girl can sing way better than the rest!' Shivers... then to find out she was only 15 then? Very cool
Her family used to live in our town. She was always so friendly and personable, as was her entire family. Happy she is becoming so successful.

No audition will ever surpass that of Susan Boyle, and I could say that of Paul Potts too, although he is not here in this video. Nobody expected those voices. I will never get tired of seeing them.

Leona Lewis was also amazing. It's laughable what the judges were saying. She was obviously showcasing the vocal exercises to show what she's capable of. This was an audition and judges are variable and unpredictable on what they like. She did a fantastic job. :)

OMG I could barely get through Louis Tomlinson. None of these boy band kids could sing worth a crap, but the judges knew how far vocal coaching and humility could take them. Those professionals knew what was possible! Amazing!

โ@@c8Lorraine1 their auditions didn't sound amazing but they were inexperienced and nervous. I can tell you for certain, they don't sound like crap these days! They just needed time and coaching to mature into their full potential. I've seen Harry live in concert and his voice sounds fantastic
You forget just how overwhelming lack of wow performance from any of the 1D boys
It's unfortunate but not surprising that Calum and Jade's relationship became a bit strained after he hit it big. It happens. But I think they made it over the hurdle. Or, at least, I hope they did. I'm a definite fan of his. :o)
