This. Also the paid stuff tends to be lots of content that you don't even need to own to experience, which is the best way for strategy games to do this kind of thing imo.

Don't forget that (at least recently) the free stuff is at or sometimes even better than the quality of the dlc

I wouldn't say TWW fits "games as a service". Sure, you get a lot of DLC, but whatever you paid for, you only pay for once; no membership, no monthly fee.

@@marconarvaez9871 That's kind of what GAAS is though. A long time ago companies figured out that there just isn't that big of a market for subscription models, but the steady payments a subscription service provides is very lucrative though, so they wanted a way to keep people paying on a regular basis without the negative reception that comes with a subscription model. I'm not sure TWWH still really fits though, as there's a few facets still missing. One, these games are typically always online, and the GAAS part is used to support the continual lifespan of the game. Secondly, it's typically a much faster turnaround between content releases as a way to keep generating interest in the game. At a bare minimum, GAAS should be getting updates on like a monthly basis, but ideally there's something new on a weekly basis, even if it's fairly trivial additions. The last part of GAAS is that free content is generally temporary: a seasonal additions or a special event that you need to interact with now if you want to get anything out of it. The point of GAAS is to maintain continuous news for the game, as well as using fear of missing out to keep player count high for the game, and then add cosmetic shops and/or frequent dlc for those players to spend money on.

@@infrizzi3303 From what I recall the audio is hardcoded in or something and right now they can only add in audio files by removing an existing one. So in order to d the VC sea shanty they'd have to remove a VC song from the game files or something like that.

@@EzrealLux don't say it like they nvr add new features, new contents, and even freelc Lord. Overhaul a core mechanic like sieging involves hundreds of settlement and it takes a lot of works.
If you don't like the way they do it, you can stop playing the game and no one gonna stop you doing that.

@@TheOriginalFishPond If it was EA or Activision this is a very valid complaint. But the scale of TW games and Warhammer is just insane. There was hundreds of hours of content right off the bat at launch for Warhammer 2, even with just the starting factions and Vortex campaign. That's a finished game in my book.
I don't mind waiting and paying for quality content. Now compare this to like Fallout 76 Anthem, or the new SW battlefronts.... Those are unfinished games that may get you 30hrs of content if that. Maybe some more if you want to jump into multiplayer as well.
TWW2 launched better than 1, had hundreds of hours of content with vortex alone and multiplayer on top of that. Yeah, 'half finished.'
More like they had clear plans for what they wanted to do in the future and would continue to implement them depending on its success. It's still a business, at least they deliver quality content unlike a lot of other developers out there.

@@baggawagga6331 Yes, but the thumbnail had "Silence and Fury" written over the "FREELC ARRAY" title, so I had my hopes up. Turns out it's just the FLC content prior to the "Silence and Fury" update. So I feel kind of tricked.

@@nqh4393 I feel that. Where Warhammer is over the top but it’s really dark and serious. Warcraft is over the top but it’s bright and goofy and tries to take itself serious and it makes me cringe every time.

Yea it will tie into the dlc like usually. We will see then if they do anything else for game 2. I think we should expect it to end with this last content drop though. But I would gladly have more stuff untill the mega campaign is added for game 3. Its probably going to be a few month post launch to get all 3 games together but time will tell.

Afther the last DLC Maybe one little update and that's it, but that is because once ME and Cross over starts dropping You are playing part 1+2 combined in TWW3

Yes. You need to own Warhammer 1 and 2 for mortal empires. But it is definitely worth it I 100% recommended it.

And u will need to own Warhammer 1, 2 & 3 for Mortal Empire of whole map.

I don't think any of the FLC lords have ever been for factions not involved in the accompanying DLC, or have they? The DLC is Lizardmen and Beastmen, so those would be the two options then.

I would like Neferata to be a proper dlc so we get more units.

Unlikley. Game 2's map was mostly perceived to be empty thanks to ulthuan being surrounded by an ocean, but all in all, the game 2 map was just as big as the game 1 one.
The area of game 3 doesnt feature any large bodies of water, but another mountainrange, and dead wastes. It'll be very similar to the badlands in variety. But more edgy.

Not necessarily. Dawi are a very likely pick for adversary Lord packs in game 3. Chaos Dawi and undead (which are guaranteed to receive nagash in game 3) make for an excellent opportunity to show the Dawi some love.

@@drafezard7315 Look at it this way: The first DLC ever was Grim & Grave. It was terrible by todays standards.
The earlier DLCs were just plain bad in comparison to recent ones.
Vampire Counts and Dawi will receive their rework in game 3, meaning their reworks will most likely be miles ahead of anything game 2 came up with.
I'd rather wait another 12 months for a proper dawi DLC and rework, than to get them now and see the great new ideas CA comes up with in 12 months. Once the rework hits, nothing will be added down the line.
