@@ultravolt4555 I doubt that they would go to such length just because there are similar units in another game. I mean they had the same basic unit types in all games prior to TWW and nobody complained.

Awesome idea! After CA showed us the possibilities in Warhammer regarding the Monsters, Giants, Flyers, Creatures, i was/am still somewhat sad, not to see the mhytological creatures of the Greec Antique implimeted into Troy. It is a perfect setting to having larger unit entities and armys of men fight side by side, a chance not ofter offered imo!
I'll love a Mythology Total War! Tho' I don't know why TW: Troy have (realistic or not) mythology creatures, I don't remember the Iliad having minotaurs and centaurs
Yup, I've never played Troy because of the weird cyclops and minotaur cosplayers thing. Actual monsters to go alongside heros and demigods? Yes please!

It's a Griffon.
A griffon is half lion (King of the Land) and half eagle (ruler of sky). In antiquity Griffons were considered to be guardians of treasure hoards and mountains containings seams of precious metal (guarding my treasure with gluttonous eye)

Who even knows what kind of animals existed in europe that were simply lost to time but exist in the legends?

@@Temudhun im more just pointing out lamassu and sphinx are both things from other cultures and areas of the world, the sphinx wouldnt fit on the map of total war troy egypt is really far away...
id put it more into gryphon, maybe some chimera type thing or more in my opinion something to do with apollo and artemis, since she is the master of the hunt and linked to land while apollo is the god who brings the sun as he rides across the sky.
i just think troy will stick to the aegean sea area.
@@dariopasquino10 But Oedipus met the Sphinx in the Greek city of Thebes, in Boeotia. It's not confined to the Middle East.
@@dariopasquino10 The Sphinx did indeed excist in Greece as well. As far as I know it made it's way into Europe throught the greek-egyptian relationship, but instead of being a good mythical creature it is pretty evil in Greece. If the Sphinx was already known in the greek age of heroes, I don't know. Someone would need to check on the informations we have of these days.
On the other hand, if you're looking into all those different cultures around the globe and check on their mythology, we see that many things tend to reappear in a more or less similar way. The best example is probably the dragon. Just take the greek cyclopses and the nordic Jötunn (giants).
All in all there was probably on big ancient religion once and with the human expanding into the world it adopted to the different regions, but some things remaind kinda similar. This is why things always reappear in one way or another, I guess.
It's another small DLC for Troy that will release alongside Troy's release on Steam. Yay.

I think some people need to realise that Troy is worked on by a separate team to Warhammer 3. They aren't working on Troy instead of Warhammer 3. Warhammer 3 is coming, just be patient.

The game is Already mythology tho Since they have have units that was mythology and we got commanders that is 1 person unit that Can destroy a unit of 200 by himself

They had to choose either pseudo historical or mythological. Historical players would appreciate the setting of the bronze age and Warhammer and AOE fans would appreciate a fully mythological setting with overpowered heroes like Achilles and Hector along with monsters from Greek Anatolian and Cretean mythos including powers like fire storms and lightning. And including all the new campaign functions this game introduced.
