Whoever puts together CA's trailers just doesn't get enough credit, they're always phenomenal. The music, the shots simultaneously showing off units while looking cool, dramatic hype building voiceovers, they do it right. All in game too.
Yup. These make me want to buy this and am way more excited for this than that cyberpunk game, no matter how many phallic posters they show off in their promo.
They really should get credit as one of the industry's top cinematics team.

For the unaware, Goblins usually have a natural fear of Elves, but Grom's success in invading Ulthuan helped his Gobbos overcome this instinctive terror Elves inspire in them.
Goblins revere Grom almost like a diety, and when a Goblin laughs at the Warden of Tor Yrvesse himself through the bar while being threatened should tell you just how much the little bastards love Grom, and that he knows Eltharion is gonna get dicked over by the Green TIde sooner or later.
Fear is a very important survival tool
Due to his lack of fear, Grom find his final moments as Stormwing's favorite ball

@Jose Castro That was only in passing from a guy who wrote some of the novels, They never once put the pen to paper. Granted they mention it in the end-times but many of us consider the end-times horrible clusters who disrespect the entirety of the setting.
So official cannon the body was never found, and likely he would of survived if the writers had not "forgotten/went off a quote said in passing". I believe they were setting up a future plot with grom but it just never came through and he ended up getting side-lined..

When I was a kid I remember Eltharion as the White Sword of Hoeth, blinded by Malekith and set back to Ulthuan in shame. He trained in Hoeth and turned into a Daredevil with a sword king of guy, full of hate and need of revenge. I now that was retconned in 8th edition, but part of me hopes that we get to see The White Sword in TWH.
And then there's my boy Grom, one of those legendary (as in part of myth) characters from the Greenskins, my Warhammer army when I was a child. I always thought that he survived his battle with Eltharion, and that he would eventually return, I even created some background scenarios to play with my brother and friends about it, but never had the chance to do it. Now CA has given me the opportunity to return to the good ol' days and get that story done.
As a fan of GW and WHF since I was a 8 years old child (more than 20 years ago), I want to thank CA for the magnificent job they are doing with this game and the respect they show to it, its classic background (Hell, they even rescue armies from White Dwarf articles, like the Vampire Coast), and the fans. After this, all I have to say is SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

No matter how many times I watch this, I thinks this is BY FAR the best Total War trailer ever made. The music, the cinematic... Considering that's based on Mad Max: Fury Road, it's just gorgeous!
Once you know how deep the rivalry between grom and eltharion is it gets 10x better
Lore Fact: Grom the Paunch was the most powerful Goblin ever, and one of the most powerful greenskin warbosses. His WAAAGH! tore through the mountain dwarves, nearly completely destroyed The Empire, then sacked Tor Yvresse and nearly sunk all of Ulthuan and unleashed the Vortex entirely. And he still never died, just vanished. This single goblin was responsible for all of that.
Grom did die it was revealed by a Black Library author. Eltharion, on a solo mission, Hunted him down, Tortured him in ways that would put the dark elves to shame, then fed his body piece by piece into a magical furnace. The Grim kept this to himself since he didn't want the other elves to know he sunk to such levels of barbarity.

The Araby roster isnt large enough to even compete with Beastmen in terms of diversity. CA would be forced to make things up.
@@m.a.4500 It's a very different world now than it used to be when Araby was first designed. If there's one group connected to Warhammer Fantasy that I'd expect to have a good chance of making the Empire of the Sun an actually respectful and fully fleshed-out faction, it's Creative Assembly, since they actually have some historical grounding in the relevant time period of the Islamic world via the other Total War games.
I've always thought it ridiculous, even shameful, that a setting set in a fantasy equivalent of the High Renaissance has so woefully neglected its equivalent to the Ottoman Empire, the force which all but defined Central Europe and arguably caused the colonization of the New World, simply by existing. And it might have to wait for Warhammer 3, whenever that comes out, but I see the chance to set a decades-long wrong right here.

I've never been so excited for a trailer in thirty years. 4th edition lives again.
Never played tabletop. What makes it 4th edition? I believe you. Just uninformed.
The 4th edition boxed set in 1992 featured these two characters with a small force each. They didn't give you the lord models in the box, but they provided cardboard placeholders for you to use until you bought them. A certain friend and I were introduced to Warhammer with this edition when we were eight years old. I went Eltharion and my friend went Grom. We were really too young to understand the game (I mean we were measuring things in centimeters instead of inches, which is ludicrous), but we had a hell of a lot of fun. The whole concept really captured our imaginations. From that day I collected the High Elves and Undead, and he collected Greenskins and Dwarfs. Since we got Total War: Warhammer, we've been waiting for this release. It holds a lot of sentimental value for us, and judging by the trailer, they got everything perfect.

Mandalore gaming did a review of the game a few days ago.
The mad men actually did it. They have weaponized thiccness.
Legitimately one of the best cinematics I've seen so far this year for a DLC. Well choreographed, music was on point, and the cinematic portrayed information about the whole story between these two factions to the viewer who may or may not even be a huge Warhammer fan in just two minutes, which is very hard to do well. I only got interested in Warhammer at all after playing Total War: Warhammer I and I feel like with such a rich world I discover a new part of it with every new DLC lord pack. Collectively I now have over 4,300 hours between Warhammer I and Warhammer II and I can say I have enjoyed most of those hours. It's refreshing, and the way you guys tell stories with these cinematics is very on point!
One small edit: The theme music for these cinematics are so great and I agree with many people in the comments here. It would be awesome to see these themes somehow implemented in the game for battles or otherwise. They're so good! Put those assets to use and I guarantee you the community will love it!

And those riding are not goblins. Those are snotling. Snotling have the intelligence of a dumb dog. But when a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHH with his magical energy starts they begin to craft surprisingly good killing machines. Da waaagh iz ere!!!!!

I'm really stoked they made Chrace white lions their own unit. Seems like they'd be super effective that way as opposed to chained up to a chariot. Also Grom really looks fantastically detailed.
Grom one of the most successful greenskin warlords there ever was. Fought and defeated the humans,the dwarves, and nearly defeated the elves. Not only that but his body was never found so there was a good chance he survived. He is Grimgor and Skarsnik in one package.
Literally. I mean that belly looks like Grimgor ate Skarsnik and his pet squig Gobbler :D
And yet Wurrzag never choses him as the Once and Future Git, but instead chooses Grimgor!?
โ@@OhManTFE Well Grom lost the battle of Yvresse and went into hiding, bidding his time. Grimgore on the other hand never lost a single battle to the time of his naming as the once and future Git.
Another reason could also be, that Grimgore is a Black Orc and Grom a Fat Goblin (No offence meant as he is also called Grom the Fat).

I think he is 4 Grimgors in one package, probably 5 if his belly is big enough
