  • @Wilderness-Will
    @Wilderness-Will 2 년 전 +447

    Joe Pera is tonic for the soul. I think part of the reason his show is often compared to "adulthood's version of Mr. Rogers" is because it touches on heavy topics with an air of seriousness and respect for the audience and those who might see a bit of themselves in what’s being depicted onscreen. His show doesn’t use fear, grief, and anxiety as the punchline for a cheap joke, nor does it fetishize those feelings the way a lot of adult animation shows seem to. Joe Pera’s show depicts these feelings, and offers suggestions on how to deal with them, but doesn’t fixate on them.
    It's a special thing to see my favorite KRplus channel and favorite show collaborating. Thank you both for being who you are.

    I'm currently working on narrations of H.P. Lovecraft's texts over on my channel, and the word 'hummock' appears quite a bit in his works. Indeed, he uses quite a few words I have to look up, despite being a 20th century author - recently I came across such obsolete words as: 'arras' (tapestry), 'settle' (wooden bench), 'Paris green' (a green pigment which was also used as rat poison), and 'gloaming' (dawn or dusk). Even though he's writing a century later than Edgar Allan Poe, Lovecraft uses a lot more obsolete words than Poe did. Which is very curious, I'm not entirely sure what to make of it.

    I miss dipping my buttered toast in my Memaw’s coffee when I was a kid. It just doesn’t taste as good when you’re an adult. Nice relaxing video. Thanks for posting.

    So I must say an immense thank you for featuring this fella on your show. I had never heard of him until now, and having my soul healed by Mr. Rogers as a child, and after watching a number of this man's videos, I can safely say Joe Pera is a special person with a beautifully uniquely succinct look on life, that makes me happy to be alive. Thank yo both immensely. You soothe so many people! ☺️🙏👏👏❤️👍

    Speaking of dugout canoes I heard just the other day that they recently found one in Wisconsin that was 1,200 years old!!! Found underwater and well preserved, due to the cold.
    I wonder if it was sunk intentionally to preserve it and then forgotten about or lost.
    Truly amazing indeed, it’s been there since around the year 800!!!

    This is my second Joe Pera episode to watch. What a wonderful reading voice and manner; it truly compliments the cabin, fire, coco ... and warm buttered toast! I wish I could join you!
    As a canoeist myself, I VERY much enjoyed that chapter. Thanks guys. :)

    I thoroughly enjoy the variety of shows on the channel. I flipped back and watched the Welsh Rabbit episode which was enjoyable again. I have a question and I don't mean to pry but what ever happened to your daughter who would cook with you, I remember the candy episode the most?
