I'll bet so many people don't remember the scene from 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes where a newspaper headline says 'Lost in Space' in reference to the Icarus spaceship that went missing. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes should end with the Icarus crashing back onto Earth and a CGI Charlton Heston walking out.

Wow, movies have really gone downhill. Hollywood has lost its passion for good storytelling. It seems flashy special effects and beancounter formulas count for cinema magic these days.
The CGI looks horrible alot of the time... Look at mad Max 😱..

While I will agree SOME movies are bad. But not all of them... But nothing has changed in the order of operations, as far as what you describe as "downhill." It has always been this way... Trailers are supposed to be vague and attract a broader audience, not just specifically you... You want the whole movie spoiled to you? And are you that lazy you can't look up and read the plot for the movie? Its meant for you to take action upon yourself and keep up with updates and new info about the movie.
On top of that, trailers are often released while the film is still in production or post-production. Also, with the speed they want these movies released, they need to get the trailer out ASAP; and almost every trailer is compressed more heavily than the final film. Compression reduces file size which gives you a reduced image quality. Which would lead to trailers with the visual effects to not be fully polished or completed, leading to lower-quality footage. Like LITERALLY every newly released trailer is going to be less quality then the theatrical version. Then once its fully released for home viewing, that's when you get the higher quality versions, uncut versions, and better refined editing of the movie. Again, nothing has changed, that is quite literally the order of operations.
Like have you ever watched a direct to DVD release of a movie? Its worse.
Have you ever seen any movie trailer out of the 50s-80s? They aren't great either, they are even more vague and have even less editing done.

I didn't know 1990's Syfy channel was still making movies.
I am disappointed they did not cast Mary Elizabeth WInstead to play the lead actor for Alien Romulus. It does look low budget when compared to the rest of the franchise, though. And they obviously went younger with the casting. Not holding my breath for this one to be any good.

ya know, what made max max movies so good the first few was that they used real bikes , real vehicles with real crashes and parts flying everywhere and no cgi bullshit. This new one looks awful visually. Its just a cash n grab flick
it's a good 90% cgi even the character bodes and faces maybe in 1-2 shots is it their real faces, if the movies looks like that they are insane it looks like a videogame cutscene

as long as its written well i dont mind, b/c theres a right way to write a female hero and a wrong way. tho i have a feeling its just going to be another forced girl power movie, i'll happily apologise if im wrong....atm i'm expecting all the catch phrases n tropes 'it was made/designed/intended/w/e else but im a woman(so i can do it better) women can do anything, youre a strong woman that can do anything' or some forced girl power sequence like in endgame and all the ladies playing pass the parcel with the gauntlet. just be matter of fact about it all...like ripley was written so a male couldve easily been swapped in, im glad they didnt tho.

New rules of filmmaking: there MUST be a high brutal-fight-to-property-damage-ratio. You can throw in some story and characterization if there’s time. Rule of thumb: always add moar ass-kicking and explosions!
