You know the game is far from release when years after the trailer they show some concept art lol. It still looks great
There were some alpha footage of spaceflight and ground combat earlier this year. I'm baffled people keep forgetting that those existed.
But yeah it's not scheduled for release yet... i'm guessing it's not going to be ready sooner than 2022.
After all they pushed games that were slated for release in 2020 to 2021.
The idea is extremely ambitious and it will almost certainly use a new engine or a heavily modified one... also Cyberpunk was in the making for almost 7 years now with mostly radio silence from the team so it's not like this game coming out in 2025 would be impossible.
@@Sonlirain what was shown was not even Alpha, the combat felt very generic and uninspired. All they are focusing our attention is the fully customizable characters and ships, which it means only one thing: microtransactions or grind hell...
@@N4SP92 You literally can't go below playable alpha when doing a gameplay demo.
Anything lower and you have an engine with no logic implemented... like Big Rigs over the road racing.
And it's ubisoft. So i can't deny the MTX bit.

@@N4SP92 I think the game heavily relies on distinct art, characters and story so it's not surprising they're focusing on that.
Kind of glad this is most likely being pushed into the next gen. The little gameplay shown so far looked far too ambitious for current gen to handle!

@nanya you would have been limited by last gen+weaker PCs. Hopefully by the time this comes out everyone has upgraded to next gen and everyone on PC is using a 2080ti or higher.

Hopefully this branch of Ubisoft learns from the pushback and loss of sales that Breakpoint suffered when people said they weren't buying it if it couldn't be played offline like Wildlands...but I doubt it.
Awhile ago I read that you COULD play it offline.

This game should be built as a single-player game with a multiplayer component ,rather than designing the entire game around the same, online only pseudo MMO formula like every other open universe game.
Frankly the rise in online only games is troubling, and I fear this may be the way all games operate in the future.

I really hope they end up adding an offline mode like they said they would when they first announced the project. It'd be a shame if it turned out the game was amazing but i couldn't revisit it 15 years after release like I can with BG&E1

Really good call updating Dakini's appearance and sculpt. I recall when the trailer came out how many people thought she was Jade's mom because very similar hair, color, and eyes.
She could be Jade's mom. Maybe her crew, Callum, Uma, Shani and Knox sacrifice their lives for the events of Beyond Good and Evil 1 to happen with Peyj as the only survivor.

You should definitly play the first game, it still feels good after 16 years, saying the controlls are still astonishingly intuitive and the gameplay, story and soundtrack are great. I played it a year ago and had a blast.

I really love these guys behind the game, they seem so dedicated and professional. I cant wait for this game, the artwork and entire universe, landscape, characters, its very unique and beautiful. Why complain about the time it takes for them, they are just making a masterpiece and that takes time.

considering the size of the game and the singleplayer core, would you be able to have multiple saves for the game, or just one main one that you will have to restart if you want to try a different path?
I'll wait to see what the game is really like after release. Ubisoft likes to oversell garbage like they did Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Both ended up being a cash grab ripping off the player base and was nothing like it was advertised.
Really hope we see some gameplay this year

I dont need extreme detail and really "realistic" graphics, i just want old jade with better models while having the same design and using the same artistic style and not towards "realism".

Will certainly be a bumemr if we get stuck with only having human characters for customization in the end, though I wouldn't really blame em if they went that way in the end, character cusatomization is quite the hefty competent, and adding multiple varying body types, let alone animal people, on top of that, you'd have to refit all the clothes, armor, etc onto each one

I had high hopes for this game but after the disaster that was Ghost Recon Breakpoint, i'm not expecting much from this and I will be waiting for reviews to decide if I purchase it, rather than preordering.

Ubisoft made a reputation for sticking with their video games, even those that were released in a state so unfnished that we'd just toss them into a landfill 25 years ago.
Now they are using this reputation to outright push out unfinished games hoping people will accept the "we will fix it later" excuse.
(Also i'm still miffed about their cut support for HoMM7 before it was completely fixed)

They could make it so that you have to grind for a long time in game to push you towards microtransactions to make it easier on yourself like it did with breakpoint. I just hope they've learned their lesson
In defense of breakpoints fun bux... you can actually find and loot most of the cosmetics in that store (With the exception for... weapon skins and camo colors... because there are no Spay Cans to loot in Aroua apparently).

It looks like they're going for the uninspored openworld loot model. Character customization is often not a part of story driven experiences as the character needs to fit in the stort and the world. (Uncharted, Last of Us, Horizon, etc.) A bad thing for fans but likely a good thing for newcomers.
What's the best release of original Beyond Good and Evil game to play? PC release (Steam) and Gamecube release via Wii are my options.

They might launch it. They just announced on their twitter for the first time in 4 years, saying they are launching a remastered version of BGE1. The most likely reason for this is to bring in moey to launch BGE2, so we may be seeing it next year🤞🤞🤞🤞

When 12 year old me picked the first BGE out of the sale bin in Toys R Us back in 2004 I have never found a game I loved more. I've played it through countless times. As shitty as it is to wait. Rhino hybrid jetpack needs to be higher on shoulders - flaming🍑 also only one side of planet is hit by meteorites, it's presumable not tidally locked to its star, (no day and night??).
so if this game is like Breakpoint, just an internet connection but mostly a single player experience I will totally get it ! cant wait ! probably next gen title
