If this was some lower level employee or programmer that wasn't picked up by HR, that'd be one thing, and a video like this from Ubisoft would be appreciated. But these were incredibly high ranking individuals including producers and studio heads. Either Yves Guillemot knew all about what was going on behind closed doors and said nothing until it leaked because it would affect the bottom line, or he is quite possibly the most incompetent CEO who has ever lived.
Honestly. Based on how things have gone, I'm tempted to say the second.

You know not many companies come out and admit things like this they usually try to keep it hidden but good on them for coming out with this. This is how you keep customers and fans

When they addressed this on their Twitter in July they tried making sure the tweet reached as few people as possible, and didn’t even attach the hashtag to it.

A good ceo would have prevented the spurce of the problem without the unnecessary attention of a camera. Aswell as memorise his script to heart before reading the teleprompter. He would have read the names of the victims he negleted as acting ceo and asure their families and friends theyd recieve the help and compensation needed for their struggles. But nope. Instead the better thing to do before releasing a 4:00 minute pr stunt with immense virtur signaling were to have been settling these matters in private and coming to terms with the people who were harrased. So. I do still enjoy ubisoft. But now after this stunt they have less of my respect. Video game developers need to stop bringing politics to things that dont involve the real world. Its good they at least bothered to create a video, but the attempt was indeed half a**ed so take this vid how you will. But if any more of this is to keep reocurring then people WILL boycott their studio publishing.

I think main problem of Ubisoft is not about "diversity". It's about game quality.
Maybe Ubisoft actions\shooters could have much stronger story and various missions istead of "kill everyone and capture tower". And strategy, Heroes of Might and Magic, could have a new game, with beautiful creature and town designs (like Nival's), better balance and cybersport lobby.
Gaming journalism failed pretty hard when we can see in the comment of an apology video, that most people don't understand what he's apologizing about...
It's about Ubi's employee being abused, women and minorities. It's not about the games, it's about who makes them.

Multiple employees at Ubisoft guilty of harassment and assault, rather than fire them they moved them to other studios where their activities continued.

Was that not due to one of the guys who is now gone? IF a game didnt fulfil his expectations it got canned, so it needed collectibles, towers to climb, also a female protagonist wasnt allowed, so male characters were shoehorned in often involving complete rewrites of the plots, looking at you Assasins Creed's!

He would most likely give the green light to the return of beloved franchises like Rayman, Splinter Cell, Beyond Good & Evil and even make Assassin's Creed go back to what it was meant to be
