I’m so glad I bought this game on sale a couple of months ago. It’s easily one of my all time favorites that I had zero expectation of going into it. My buddy picked it up as well and became equally invested. We ended up buying Wildlands together after we finished BP.
Thanks to immersive mode and all of the other improvements, we never experienced any of the issues this game was criticized for at launch. Plus it earned Ubi additional business.
Wildlands received so much praise and BP was panned hard at launch, but the game is hardly anything like its former self.
Mad respect to this team for turning things around. I can’t imagine how annoying the launch must’ve been for both the consumer and the developers.

I... I .... I never expected UBI to actually try and pull off something this ambitious and so close to what the community has asked for within a game that has been considered mediocre and 2 years old! I never expect GRB to be this nicely supported for so long, considering its lukewarm reception.
I never thought i would have a good reason to come back to this game (which I actually really love)...

"Ambitious" ? They recycled Wildlands' zone progession system and that's it. I really don't get why all of you are reacting like this is Jesus coming back to Earth, maybe calm down a little ?
@@forzakgaming first of all, GRW had no 'conquering' of zones. It had mini story per zone and a boss mission after a few regions.
There was no sense of conquest since the world didnt change. No mission effected other regions nor the regione itself.
This game mode probably isnt going to have cool mini stories like the GRW campaign and isnt going to feel nearly as full as GRW.
But you are missing the point. OP motherland is a free DLC to a 2 y\o game. Adding something (that according to the trailer) seems this substantial for free to a 2 y\o game is super rare.
I WISH it was 'just' a GRW like mode. GRW is a full fledged game. If this was as a big as GRW i would bow down to however made the decision to support this expantion within ubi.
Obviously its going to be far far more shallow, but from the trailer it looks like a free expansion thats better than all the paid expansions combined.
Thats why i am personally happy about it.

Or your trying to sneak around in a vase but you ai team mates are standing out in the open on front of the enemy but for some reason the enemy doesn't react and neither does the friendly ai
Does this mean the Squad AI will FINALLY take out enemies standing-over the downed player BEFORE reviving them, cause that should've been fixed like a year ago.
My squad killed Walker yesterday. I didn't even get to kill the final boss 😭

Which Wildlands mechanics? Are you talking about the fact that we get to go after lieutenants? Thats more of a Far Cry mechanic than anything else
@@TheOnlyDarkKnight Wildlands was exactly like this. Territories with leaders, destabilization missions. It's the same exact thing as Wildlands and all we wanted from the get go.
@@TheOnlyDarkKnight Wildlands did it before Far Cry. That's why it was probably implemented into far cry because fans liked that mechanic. I skipped FC5 because I wasn't impressed with 4(3 set the bar too high) and when I started playing FC6 and saw the whole destabilization of regions aspect of it, I immediately got excited cause it was a mechanic I liked in GRW. And they definitely improved it cause so far each region has a solid story to it.

-Open world
-Bad guy takes control of a city, island or whatever
-Rebels hate said bad guy
-You have to clear bases over and over again
-There are animals inside cages that can help you kill some of the enemies on said bases (replaced with rebels in Wildlands)
-You have to collect and buy weapons.
-You have to unlock skills
Wildlands copy and pastes stuff from Far Cry.
Far Cry 5 came out on 2018 and Wildlands in 2017. Do you really think they build FC5 on a year? No. They just copy the formula to both games because again, Wildlands is essentially Far Cry but in third person.
Now THIS is Ghost Recon, I disagreed witn most of breakpoint but still played it and enjoyed it. This is exactly what ghost recon should've been

But oh well.. in any case congratulations to the new people in charge of redisign breakpoint making it way more fun than the original release.

Really glad to see the teams at Ubisoft taking the feedbacks and delivering us the high quality content we deserve. Breakpoint has its own highs and lows, but the recent updates have me more excited with each one. There's support from all of us GR fans for the teams to keep up the good work!
Ngl, this update looks awesome, it's like Wildlands but in Breakpoint with the cripple the structure between the Bodarks, Sentinel and the Wolves in order to retake territory controlled by the enemy and also the add-ons like russian spec ops weapons like the As Val and the VKS sniper rifle and the skins of Kozak, Mitchell and Diaz. Nice op.
I hope when we capture territories we will see civilians returning to normal life for example seeing civilian cars on the roads
How dare they not show us more of this, the thing Fans of the series like myself (obviously not all), actually wanted out of the 20th Anniversary and instead show us things we don't want. This is great work, can't wait to delve into it with my boys. Enemies being interesting was something needed so much. Wolves just were not different than enemies with better aim it felt like. Bodark looks like what they should have been. This kind of Operation is exactly what I want my Ghosts to be doing, not the baby sitting fetch quests we had in Base game. Breakpoint has a bunch going for it and I hope this really lands well for the Devs.

All I hope for is that you can lose territory as well. To add some longevity to the mode

In GRW you dont take over territories nor change the world state.
And in GRW there is a nice mini story to every region.
Here - no story. Just (probably very simple) missions, and you do conquer the map region by region.

So UBI is trying to give us a free content that is imitating a full game. that's massive.
Obviously, it's not gonna be a 50 hours content, but even if its half that - that's still one of the most impressive free DLCs i've seen.

This is exactly what we wanted and what Ghost Recon needed. Tbh, this should have been the game from release. I’m actually excited for a Ghost Recon game for once.
I mean, though they are just now placing a lot of stuff back in that SHOULD HAVE been in the game, these are mostly good additions it seems.
Hopes the DLC delivers, and shows that Ubisoft did learned a thing or two in the end.

I believe it is free, all the previous content has. Obviously nothing this massive. If it indeed is free that will win back lots of trust from players who walked when Breakpoint launched. Frontline needs to be scrapped and just focus on Breakpoints remaining content and invest into another addition to the ghost recon franchise that has meaningful content, immersive story driven missions that keep you in suspense one objective after another. If motherland is as good as it looks why can’t the team create a complete game full of the type of content that Ghost Recon is known for. Ubisoft can do it, they have just shown us. ( A Ghost Recon that bigger than ever before niece we have next gen , let the open world skills shine @UBISOFT. A multi continent game missions taking us to several countries with multiplayer in some of the largest maps yet. The can knock Battlefield 2042 out of the picture if done right.

they never do it seems. After so many years of copy&pasting they still make the same mistakes again and again. I'm not sure how they are happy with the same "release a mess first, make it completely different and much better game later". But they still do it with every release. How many people will return for this? How many new people will it attract for 25% for its release price if the internet is full of "bad game" topics? And this is with nearly every game of theirs, and every chapter.
So waiting a year or two, getting the game for a fracture of price... with pretty much assurance the next installment won't be attractive at all at first and not worth full price.
They could of left it an moved on to Ghost Recon Frontline, I’m glad the put forth the effort and made things right for the community.
This is the best dev team that Ubisoft has. They put so much effort into constantly improving Ghost Recon. Much respect.

This definitely brings me back, I haven’t touched breakpoint in over a year!
Now the only thing I miss is a more "gritty" touch like what we experienced on the closed beta (the beggining had a way more dark tone that I expected to get more used along the whole campaign.
