For some reason big Japanese games developers seem to generally have more soul and passion put into their games. I wonder what the reason for this is. I think the Ubisoft devs want to make a good game but for some reason they are being held back.
@@1337Figaro I can actually answer that. This game is being made by their Indian branch. Aka the guys Ubi loves to throw under the bus when they need to make a quick buck. They usually don't get alot of budget, or even time to work on it, and I doubt there is a good enough director in there to move a project like this in good direction under those circumstances. I'll give them benefit of the doubt since there is some time to cruntch and make the game have a good lighting, but I doubt this Remake is gonna turn good, even with good intentions.
Maybe in the Trailer, Ubisoft have used Classical graphics settings. And Yes, there are different Graphical Styles which we players can choose. And Team Of Ubisoft Do not want "Realistic Graphics" for this game. This is intentional. Maybe they will improve it a bit. But still It is the biggest Game by any Indian Developer. And This is still a nice Beginning for our Gaming Industry.

Sands of Time is one of the best games ever made, it deserves a remake with an actual AAA budget behind it, not small budget and giving it to some random studio. @@rsolsjo I've been wondering for years, but the truth is that the competition (i.e. naughty dog, rockstar games) manage to make character models with very appealing facial expressions and emotes. The anvil next engine is kinda lacking in that regard. AC origins was ok, but Oddysey, somehow, doesn't look as good. The world and building s are great but Kassandra's facial expressions aren't amazing, they don't hold up to Ellie's or lara Crofts latest installments. When it comes to NPC it's just too big a difference. The Witcher 3 NPC have better faces. Now, I think this is a good PoP because the Prince model has gained an whole world of polygons and it now moves like a person, naturally, instead of the rigidity of the original. I know this isn't Naughty dog level of animations but still it upgrades the original by a looot, and that makes me happy

This game was the sole reason for which I watched today's Ubisoft Forward event. After seeing this all I can say is that neither the PoP franchise or its fans deserves something so low quality.

You can get a good view of the asteroid belt and Jupiter, though it'll look like a bright star. The Martia observatory is a must for a nice close up of Jupiter. Hopefully asteroids don't block your view. (hilariously NASA admitted they were coloring the sky because people expected the sky to be red. Scientifically speaking because of how light refracts through atmospheres all planets in a system will have the same color sky. In our case blue.)

@@umarb7325 Have you seen pre 2018 Ubisoft' games? Splinter cells, ezio trilogy, even watch dogs and ac unity have great visuals. They used to top the market in terms of visual and cinematic experience, not the best but one of the best. It feels like since ac odyssey everything that comes out of ubisoft feels like B or even C class game.
All I can say is I'm disappointed, I think I speak for the majority of people who played the original that this just isn't what we want. Delay the game and make the graphical improvements. we're moving into the next generation of gaming consoles and this is just not acceptable, if this game sells poorly (which it will if not changed drastically) then we probably won't see Warrior Within, The Two Thrones and potentially a new entry into the franchise due to the lack of sales. Ubisoft you have the opportunity to revive a franchise that fans have been waiting for, don't ruin it, there's time to fix it.

It's a shame what's missed out on. Imagine a true next gen Sands of Time reboot, not even remake. It could truly showcase the power of upcoming hardware. You know how you could travel between past and present in Warrior Within? Imagine they'd let you do something like that on the fly thanks to the new loading times. I don't wanna blame graphics at most cauz they said they wanted to keep the aspect of a Fantasy Game (so I am hopeful about the lightning effects and shadows) but they said they are using Anvil Engine that which is meant for Open World Games and incapable of doing slow motion actions as far as I've come to know.... Graphics wise? I mean... Blacklist wasn't a good looking game in 2013 because it was made with the Unreal Engine 2.5 (modified UE 2 by Ubisoft). Pandora Tomorrow was an UE 2 game and Chaos Theory had the exact same engine as Blacklist :/. They haven't had to show me that to realize by myself, that the graphics for a new SC game would be underwhelming :D

Even though that was a complete mess at launch and should never have been released in that state, at least they were trying. Since then *every single game* has been the same copy pasted Ubified bs, filled with time wasting gameplay and microtransactions. I don't care about graphics on their own but when you show me a remake/remaster and the game hardly looks better than a the original from 13 years ago, worse then the reboot from 10 years ago-where the whole selling point of a remaster IS the graphics and updated mechanics-then that's a real bad step in the wrong direction to show how little they actually care about the game and how they think they can just skate by on the name alone. Which is sad because in turn when people don't buy this Ubi will just say it's because people aren't interested in the franchise anymore and not take the blame that people don't want it because we expect a better effort from "Quadruple A" developer that holds the IP of some of gamings most cherished franchises. @@lutzchen9887 I disagree. Blacklist was still a great looking game when it came out... at least on PC. In case you only played on consoles, the PC version had a ton of PC exclusive graphical features, the most impressive being a very well done tesselation that gave the world a very detail geometry for the time.
This remake was made by a small Indian studio. I don't think Splinter Cell would get this treatment... I have much bigger worries than production value.. My worry is turning Splinter Cell in another Division, Ghost Recon.. service multiplayer trash kinda thing... in fact.. that is the reason we haven't got a new Splinter Cell. Ubisoft didn't figure out how to turn it into eSports.

This remaster is made by Ubisoft Pune & Ubisoft Mumbai. Both studios are in India. This is the first major gaming company that has international studios in India that worked on a big game like this. The remaster probably did not cost Ubisoft that much considering labor is cheap in India.

We got an incredible remake of Resident Evil 2 back in 2019. We got a masterful Final Fantasy 7 remake earlier this year. The upcoming Mafia remake also looks promising. And then Ubisoft presents us this. What the actual hell???

@@umarb7325 Have you seen pre 2018 Ubisoft' games? Splinter cells, ezio trilogy, even watch dogs and ac unity have great visuals. They used to top the market in terms of visual and cinematic experience, not the best but one of the best. It feels like since ac odyssey everything that comes out of ubisoft feels like B or even C class game.
All I can say is I'm disappointed, I think I speak for the majority of people who played the original that this just isn't what we want.
Delay the game and make the graphical improvements.
we're moving into the next generation of gaming consoles and this is just not acceptable, if this game sells poorly (which it will if not changed drastically) then we probably won't see Warrior Within, The Two Thrones and potentially a new entry into the franchise due to the lack of sales.
Ubisoft you have the opportunity to revive a franchise that fans have been waiting for, don't ruin it, there's time to fix it.

I don't wanna blame graphics at most cauz they said they wanted to keep the aspect of a Fantasy Game (so I am hopeful about the lightning effects and shadows) but they said they are using Anvil Engine that which is meant for Open World Games and incapable of doing slow motion actions as far as I've come to know....
I want them to bring a game that everyone like and so they don't hang us with WW T2T renakes which they will never come out due to failure of first remake....

Graphics wise? I mean... Blacklist wasn't a good looking game in 2013 because it was made with the Unreal Engine 2.5 (modified UE 2 by Ubisoft). Pandora Tomorrow was an UE 2 game and Chaos Theory had the exact same engine as Blacklist :/. They haven't had to show me that to realize by myself, that the graphics for a new SC game would be underwhelming :D

Even though that was a complete mess at launch and should never have been released in that state, at least they were trying. Since then *every single game* has been the same copy pasted Ubified bs, filled with time wasting gameplay and microtransactions.
I don't care about graphics on their own but when you show me a remake/remaster and the game hardly looks better than a the original from 13 years ago, worse then the reboot from 10 years ago-where the whole selling point of a remaster IS the graphics and updated mechanics-then that's a real bad step in the wrong direction to show how little they actually care about the game and how they think they can just skate by on the name alone.
Which is sad because in turn when people don't buy this Ubi will just say it's because people aren't interested in the franchise anymore and not take the blame that people don't want it because we expect a better effort from "Quadruple A" developer that holds the IP of some of gamings most cherished franchises. Or worse, people do buy it and Ubi will continue to think that this low effort is all they need to put in cause people will eat it up either way
@@lutzchen9887 I disagree. Blacklist was still a great looking game when it came out... at least on PC. In case you only played on consoles, the PC version had a ton of PC exclusive graphical features, the most impressive being a very well done tesselation that gave the world a very detail geometry for the time.
This remake was made by a small Indian studio. I don't think Splinter Cell would get this treatment... I have much bigger worries than production value.. My worry is turning Splinter Cell in another Division, Ghost Recon.. service multiplayer trash kinda thing... in fact.. that is the reason we haven't got a new Splinter Cell. Ubisoft didn't figure out how to turn it into eSports.

This remaster is made by Ubisoft Pune & Ubisoft Mumbai. Both studios are in India. This is the first major gaming company that has international studios in India that worked on a big game like this. The remaster probably did not cost Ubisoft that much considering labor is cheap in India.
