*The Gary Goodridge crucifix elbow hail storm is still the most brutal thing Iโve ever seen in the UFC.*
gary thought it was a mortal kombat tournament
Petr yan
Pat Smith vs Scott Morris is a brutal KO from the early days too.
Straight out of a movie type of shit
Brutal is def Weidman's leg break. More so than silvas. But in terms of inflicting punishment there are too many to really count. It was hard to watch Valentina outstrike that one girl two years ago like 380 to 2
Kongoโs KO of Pat Barry is still one of the most incredible turnarounds in UFC history and such a great technical finish considering his head was scrambled.
That is why Dan is one of the best. If it was Herb it wouldโve been stopped the first time Congo hit the ground. Herb is not solid ref, not anymore that it is heโs been garbage for the last 5yrs or better
Probably didn't know where he was at the time, let alone what he was doing.
I think it was just some kind of wild survival instinct.
@@jacobdesimone765 totally agree, I think Herb has been one of the worst refs for ages, a good ref shouldnโt really even be talked about, Herb has been centre of conversations around loads of fights.
@@jacobdesimone765 I resally hope youre joking. That fight should have been called way before that happened. Worst ref in UFC history !!!
Yes indeed ๐ฏ
Iโm absolutely mind blown that not a single Derrick Lewis KO was shown here. Dude just set the record for most KOs in UFC history with 13! Show some respect to the KO king!
Yeah, my favorites of his were like Volkov and Blaydes
@@daveledonio5793 I think the blaydes kno knockout should be here
I can think of one or two Mark Hunt KOs where he throws the right and immediately walks away knowing it's connected/lights out, they were more spectacular than some of these to me. Having that confidence in your own power.
@@AudioPhile I agree. I always think of that savage walkoff he done when he KOed Roy Nelson. That was a huge heavyweight fight at the time as well.
@@WilkyWonka haha ol Roy Nelson, one dude you don't want to take at face value lol.
Check out hunts K1 fights on KRplus, friggin savage.
2010-2013 was the best era of heavyweights in the UFC. What a roster of fighters.
pre-usada era
Only monsters
Agreed
@@jeffersonnero I can't stand Ngannou, I think he's a terrible champion that the UFC realized after his win against Stipe (their big sell), that they had no choice but to try and promote him and be cool to him. Stipe's retired pretty much. So Ngannou's title reign will start until he retires. Which sucks because while he's a KO monster, he's not much else. Seeing Stipe like that just aggravates me knowing Stipe was so much better than what he did that night. And he hasn't fought in the octagon since that fight. I hate Ngannou for that reason alone. Oh, well. UFC's got to deal now. And Francis still hurt, which never happened to Stipe, is what's limiting Ngannou from being on my top5 list. For me, just UFC HWT greats, it is: 1. Frank Mir. 2. Cain Velasquez. 3. Stipe Miocic. 4. Fabricio Verdum. And 5. Randy Couture (mostly a Light heavyweight guy, but he was amazing in the early days of the UFC for putting HWT on the map).
@@zaynes5094 Stipe's flaw was inactivity which is the case for a lot of heavyweights. DC put him out of action for awhile after their first fight due to retina damage. Stipe just fought DC for over two years straight. Would have been a different legacy for Stipe if he had beaten DC the first time because he likely could have defended the belt like two or three more times at least before losing to Francis.
Kongo is probably hands down the craziest thing I've seen in the octagon fml.
His craziest moment was that come back against rose namajunas 's dad
That shit was hectic
@@TheBlackJerome Lol good one ๐๐๐
His last fight he pulled out the same comeback, but with a submission, cheick kongo, king of comebacks

That Gary Goodridge knockout was so brutal the ref should have stopped it after the second elbow

After the first one lol
Big john is all about the warrior code
@@Max_El-Cucuy_Holloway the guy that got knocked out is Ortegas coach?

Gonzaga KO of CroCop was the most shocking one for me. Everyone at the time expected Gonzaga to be a sacrificial lamb for Mirko, and to do it with a headkick made it even more insane.
Lies again? School Hunk Olympic Medals
The way Overeemโs legs kick up when Ngannou hits him with that hammer fist ๐ณ
look the way stipe's knees went back...ouch!
@@GoodStuff1992 And that's why Stipe is still out. And arguably and not crazily why he hates on Ngannou. I would to if the guy KOd my head off and I couldn't do anything about it. Thing is, Stipe could come back, but he doesn't really have much to prove. Got KOd by Daniel Cormier, but then got wrecking him in the rematch. I guess that's where he usually improves. Got too cocky there with the strikes against Ngannou.
@@zaynes5094 when did he hate on Francis? Stipe isnt like that at all.
Kongo hit Barry like he heard him say, "Age is just a number."
bro...
๐คฃ
Funniest part is that Pat Barry grooms minors.
Some people don't realize how smart of a joke this is lmao
Age is just a number but still Barry waited till she was 18!
Prime JDS was something else. His recent performances can cloud our memory of how dangerous he was.
Best boxer in heavyweight history
His trilogy with Cain was legendary!
Same with many fighters. They fall off fast. For example the amount of Tony Ferguson haters astounds me. They totally forget the monster he was and how scary he was.
@@dano1307 tony is overrated, even prime tony loses to oliveira, justin and beneil easily
@@yeeeaaahmayneee3808 its easy to say that now that you have seen those 3 beat him soundly. dude was on a 12 fight win streak. I know his fundamentals and technique was not great but he always found a way.
I love how Kongo is just walking around the octagon after the fight like "I meant to do that"
It looked like he thought he might be dreaming!
To this day, after seeing Ngannou connect with Overeem... I still do not understand how that literally did not decapitate Overeem.
I feel like his uppercut could replace the ol medieval guillotine. Execution by Uppercut ๐
That punch would have straight up killed 95% of the people watching this video

I remember Mike Goldberg telling Joe Rogan:"Joe, that fight we just witnessed was a true example of " Are you kidding me?!" It really was crazy, Pat Barry was delivering a barrage of strikes when Kongo, who was wobbly yet still conscious delivered only a couple of punches to KO Barry and it happened in the very 1st round! JDS was one of my favorite Heavyweights. His boxing was so clean. Black belt in jiu jistsu too
6:13 "that was unbelievable" ๐
That Goodridge vs Herrara was iconic. Though he slept him on one elbow and the referee allowed another 7 more which was rather unnerving
Petr yan๐ซ๐ฎ
Because the stupid ref was on the wrong side. If he'd stood up to two fighters, he'd have noticed the blackout too soon! Oh, those rookie UFC judges!
It was just to make sure
Big John was still a noob ref then, it was only UFC 8.
@@Gamebred-Nightmare I'll that ref's mother.

I kept scrolling for this comment
In one of the much earlier videos of the UFC they censored that part where Joe Rogan was saying it for I don't know what reason.
Kongo's comeback was superb. Dudes body kept fighting after his damn soul was knocked out of it for a moment.
5:20 is the best comeback after taking knockout punches ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Goodrige's knockout is in a league of it's own... If I saw that in a movie I'd be like ''Yeah right''
Me too
Cheick Kongo the biggest come-back of the history of the UFC ๐ช๐ผ๐ซ๐ท
Probably just below Anderson Silva's triangle armbar against Chael
Tim boetsch vs yushin okami
Ngannouโs uppercut ko to Overeem has gotta be the scariest knockout ever
I think it is def with his rosenstruik one, that one was scary because he threw his 6 6 frame at a high level kickboxing with no regard and flattened him ๐ณ
And it still is! ๐ฏ
@@thomasdaniel4534 the stipe one was worse. he got ko'd twice in 3 seconds
@@GoodStuff1992 let's agree they are all scary haha

And still the minotaur didn't turn off...
@@eliaspereira4961 lmao ok? He still got his shit rocked took him almost 10 mins to recover from that
1:00 Goodridges KO is underrated. Thatโs incredible how he got him into position so fast, even KOed him on the very first elbow.
Looks like he must have practiced that move a lot but his martial arts background seems to be all striking? Doesnโt seem like theyโd practice this in Kuk Sool Won.
His wiki says he only decided to compete in MMA after watching UFC 2 which doesnโt leave much time as this is UFC 8. Interestingly he was an arm wrestling champion before.
I remember seeing this KO as a kid, I think it traumatized me cuz for my entire life I had flash back of it, randomly popping in my head lol every now and then. Too brutal to watch for a kid I think.
He was tickling his nipple before he knocked him out. LOL
@@StayPrimal the early UFC fights were brutal but thatโs what made it so interesting.
UFC 1 Gerard Gordeau vs Teila Tuli where Gerard kicks Teilas in the head while he was down and looking away knocking out his teeth was brutal. Especially how Gerard seemingly didnโt care.
@@jewellui Gerard was a fucken savage. He basically blinded that little Asian dude in pride one time
The thing about those days is that no one really knew how to defend basically anything from other martial arts, it's totally different today.
Pat Barry was literally in another world. He looked like the shrooms had just kicked in. That's tough.
๐๐
Iโm pretty sure a loud fart knocks Barry out
1:55 When Ngannou threw that right-left combo, that second punch was all upper body strength. I don't want to even imagine a full punch starting from a planted foot through a twisting core and full extension. Guess that's why they say has the hardest punch ever recorded.
Huge shoutout to Lewis vs Blaydes and Lewis vs Volkov. The timing on the Blaydes KO and the moment and context of the Volkov one. Both amazing knockouts
The blaydes one should be here instead of the Cain one
I donโt even know how they didnโt put the KO over Blaydes that uppercut was naaaastyโฆ
Dude Kongo Barry will never be surpassed that fight raises my blood pressure to deadly levels every time I watch the replay. Years laterโฆ.

I saw that Cro Cop ko live and I ain't ashamed to admit it broke my damn heart.
Gonzaga "Cro Copping" Cro Cop is legendary.
I was just thinking the same thing... Nobody head kicks Cro Cop. He's supposed to head kick you
Petr yan๐ซ๐ฎ
You could fill like half this list with Mark Hunt. He both gave and received some savage ones
Hunt and Lewis
I've noticed fighters with great chins when they get knocked out they tend to go out in brutal fashion. Mark Hunt being one of them, collapsed like a building being demolished every time his chin got cracked. Roy Nelson another, would nearly always faceplant the canvas, Michael Bisping looked like his soul left his body, Stipe Miocic folded backwards every time and Chuck Liddell always collapsed in a way that gave him the most brain trauma.
Petr

Legendary chin
The power Ngannou generated on that short left to Miocic was scary. Miocic thought he had Ngannou hurt and rushed into finish only to get blasted by that lethal short left of Ngannou.
Miocic daughter puts him to sleep with a kiss

Hendo's H-Bomb against Bisping was more brutal
@@lunafreed It's up there, but obviously it's a subjective thing
I think Henderson giving Bisping a Japan treatment. 2 nukes like how USA dropped 2 nukes on Japan.

The comeback against Volkov specially
Man,Sea Level Cain was something else. Its crazy to think what he could do had injuries not hampered his career like that. Cain was what got me into Mma when he destroyed Brock Lesnar. I had to go back and watch all his fights then.
How can you have a top heavyweight knockout list without Derrick lewis. I think the one with Curtis blades where he just falls off his uppercut I should be on here it was brutal man.
Yeah for real man!! Lewis has the most knockout in ufc history. Blades ducked down into a uppercut that stopped him cold in tracks.
I remember watching that Kongo comeback vs Barry live and my jaw is still open to this day.
Back in the day when Cain Velasquez is the King in the heavyweight division.
Love looking at great knock outs before fight day, makes me appreciate what can happen and realize history can be made tonight
Ufc never wants to give Stipe any love. He's had a couple KO's that should of made this list.
What I was thinking too...
Yeah sadly
ever since stipe took the belt from dana and gave it to his trainer to put on him... dana didnt like that
@@skitzcunt4213 lol I didn't know he did that, what a King. Probably was a mistake though, Dana seems like the kind of scumbag to hold a grudge.
They goingto regret it if nganu contract negotiations fail and UFC lose him. Threw a legend away for a couple big fights.
My heart broke when I saw Crocop getting KO'd like that and crumble..
Yessss I was so hype for UFC reign but Gonzaga really used his own move against him
I didnโt want that to be on here and I got resting bitch face
I saw it live and the pain on his fans faces was visible. Unbelievable upset.
I'm not, even I am croatian, because he had to many other heavy defeats, heavy knockouts, so he was never real champion, very top like Fedor. Also his style was more and more repulsive, with pushing himself from oponents, to less boxing, too much waiting, too less agressivness. His left leg kicks are legendary, he is great pride figure, but that's it!
Well, he avenged this loss by TKO'ing Gonzaga badly in UFC Fight Night Cro Cop vs Gonzaga 2 in 2015.
Goodridge's crucifix thousand elbows of pain was so brutal.
