I think it’s smart what they’re doing rn since they release a phone every year, those who have had older iPhones for 2-3 years can feel like they upgrade to a newer and different phone. For them it would be a huge upgrade but for those who just change it every year would be like an update not an upgrade.

Definitely sticking to iPhone 13 Pro Max. The difference is not worth the upgrade at all. For me personally. I feel like we are reaching the peak of phone technology in regards to what we actually need in a device.

Yes, this is the case for years already in phones. You can keep an iphone for 5 years, maybe changing the battery once, and it will still not be worth it buying the new one unless you are rich and dont care

Finally having USB-C port is a great thing, but it doesn't necessarily mean it support max USB PD fast charge. Like other Android phone manufacturers do to intentionally limit the PD charging speed and force consumers to buy their proprietary charger, Apple may do the same thing. Let's hope Apple gives at least 15W PD fast charge support with 3rd party charger.
USB-C is notorious for having to replace cables much more frequently. This is a downgrade. This phone is a joke..

I've been sticking with my XS until USB-C came along - so I think the 15 could be time to now upgrade. I don't need a new phone every year - so a 4-5 year cycle for me works fine. If I do get a 15 then probably not looking again until the 19/20, assuming they have something compelling, otherwise keep skipping.
I’m in the same boat my XR is getting a bit slower and battery dying way too quick. I might shell out and get a pro max when the 15 comes out and wait for the 20th

I figured there would be no design change as dynamic island is their recent design change. Their camera does look slightly different. The outside bezel of the cameras are thicker.
I used to be an avid android user. I went through the note series (2, 4 and 20 Ultra Plus). I switched to an iPhone 13 pro max in November of 21. I'm pretty much holding out for a foldable iPhone or when the camera tech in other foldables catches up to their similar counterparts.
Literally the only guy I can watch review tech. The background music is such a perfect level too, it felt so natural I stopped hearing it for a while until I noticed it again. The background on the video is also appealing

As for the Volume rockers, apple was going for haptic feedback this time instead of physical buttons, but they cancelled the plan due to some issues with the implementation. This is why we see one volume button instead of two, but the actual iphone 15 have separate volume buttons only

One issue I have is its been rumoured that Apple will pretty much brick the Type-c in a way that you won't be able to use whatever cable, it has to be a Apple certified cable.

I like the lightning cable. Type c pin is likely keep breaking. Lightning connector setup is more robust!

Glad I bought the iPhone 14 Pro and didn’t wait. The 48mp is awesome! It replaces my dslr sometimes because it’s so convenient on holidays
U seem like u know what settings to tweak. I don't have the 14 but I got the 13 pro max, are there any custom camera/video settings I could tweak for good photos, just sort of point and shoot type stuff. Just want simplicity that I can just set up and forget, yet still get great photos
The cinematic and action video modes are an underrated surprise on the 14 pro. Especially with kids!

@@_ph4nt0mzz_47 I get the best photo’s by shooting in RAW format (and 48mp in my case). After that I edit them also on my phone in the evening in Lightroom mobile. But that’s a paid app but i’m sure there are others as well! I don’t really use any other special settings. Maybe at night I sometimes shoot using the Lightroom app where you can set the iso/shutter speed etc. just like DSLR. In the end when I my DSLR once again (A7C) you can definitely see a difference, but the fact that this takes so much less effort makes it just as great.
@@Seramics I dependents on your personal preferences and how much effort you want to put in each photo, but in most cases yes. It’s point too shoot on my 14 Pro and I edit the photo’s the same day very quickly on my phone as well in Lightroom. With my dslr you come home with 500 pictures where you have to make a selection and edit each photo separately on you’re computer. Last year they day the 14 got released I flew to Bali and didn’t even take my DSLR with me. I always make a photo album afterwards, and most people wouldn’t believe me when I showed the photos and said they where all taken with my phone haha. But the 48mp definitely helps when printing the photos at larger scale. Even at sunrise in low light you can see the mountains far away very sharp.
Nice with the type c. I just hope that they improve the type c on future phones and that some more good features comes before September

Unless that button has some sort of new function thats totally unknown, the switch seems like a much better option in my opinion, atleast for muting call volume deliberately and quickly. Buttons can get mashed accidentally, and it would suck to mute the phone accidentally all because the phone was grabbed the wrong way. While the swith is kinda hard to mash accidently.
there's haptic feedback to the press so you can tell what you've done. should be pretty impossible to accidentally hit it without realizing
probably gonna be my first new phone since the 11 came out. the changes were never really that worth upgrading to and I still feel like my phone perfectly holds up but 15 is a good number to finally upgrade. still don’t feel like I’m gonna miss out on all that much if I decided to still use my 11 lol

Alhamdulillah I’m on a 6s, and it’s beautiful for just WhatsApp and checking transport and phone calls. The 16GB storage is too little for anything else, really! I like how raw the camera is for outdoors although it can look rather grey in low or too high light.
I would keep it except the home button fell off and the screen is also falling off, perhaps that’s because it’s been replaced twice more than five years ago and some drops caused it to dislodge.. what do you guys reccomend I upgrade to? Thinking of getting one after exams

The dynamic island makes the iPhone unique and recognizable at first glance, but I think the best solution for the "selfie" camera is to position it in one of the upper corners of the device, because when watching a video on the landscape mode screen, the dynamic island steals part of the screen, the same happens with the "selfie" camera in the middle of the screen (Android) and if in that case the screen area occupied by the camera is very small... If the camera was in a corner, it would "disappear" since when watching a movie, series, video , in lendscape mode the black cinematic lines take away the top and bottom of the screen.
Agreed..... But a small punch hole is WAY BETTER than dynamic Island.

Once you throw a case on there, that 0.5 mm less bezel is unnoticeable. You’ll have to go caseless to appreciate that feature.

Standard 15 - two sizes (standard and max)
Pro 15 - two sizes (standard and max)
Ultra - one size (max) and all the premium additions of titanium and thunderbolt and other things the Ultra marquee has.
Imagine they start pricing phones differently to have wireless charging or wired charging next..

Finally getting that brushed metal look!! They did this on the iPhone 4 and 5S models and it was my favorite look. This new glossy look on the 14's always made the phones look cheap.

I hope it's going to exactly be like the one in your hand! ☺️ So I won't have ANY regrets buying the 14 Pro Max two months before. 😅 I bought it because that's the last flagship iPhone with Lightning connector, and have the edgy brickish design.
I didn't buy any iPhones that came with rounded body, so after the ('16) SE my next iPhone was the 12 Mini. Now the 14PM. I'm happy that the 15 looks like rounded again, so I won't feel that I made a mistake. ☺️
I hate to tell you this, the 15 will have a 6 TB of memory for every model. It will have face, touch, and the new brainwave recognition, so you can basically lock and unlock it from over 50 miles away. The 15 will project solid holographic images to life-size, which will be easy with the new A99 chip, which is many generations ahead of the current chip. The most expensive version will only be $249. So yeah, you got screwed.

The 12 mini and 13 mini are the best versions for many like me. Not everyone needs a super large phone. I hope they bring the form factor back in any form. A new SE with the body of 13 mini would be sweet.

If the camera was under the screen you won't be able to tell which side is the top and bottom unless they put a mic and speaker on both side :)
Crazy it’s just my 14 pro with just usb c. The 15 pro is also rumored to have the same main 48mp camera as the 14 pro so not expecting any crazy camera improvements.
There is absolutely no point in upgrading to 15 pro when you already have 14 pro. It's a negligible update. You'll get a reasonable update when 17 or 18 pro comes out
Bruh I’m not exited nor impressed at this 15 model at all it looks the EXACT same. To be honest. I also upgraded my 11 to iPhone14 pro and I like it but there isn’t really a huge difference like it’s definitely different with the dynamic island and stuff but overall the difference isn’t big when I expected the age gap to actually be light years ahead.. so I believe if apple keeps releasing these similar iPhone models after the 15 with little to no difference then it’ll eventually die off and a lot of Apple customers would probably start to lean onto other upcoming phones in the future, but that’s just a guess. In the meantime I’m definitely not upgrading for another 3yrs hell nah man until then if I don’t see an actual difference then I’m switching bruh I’m not trying to live in the past with these exact same boring iPhone models.
There enough room for usb C on my iPhone case now. It’s such a small difference that they wouldn’t have to change the case at all. Regardless I am hoping that it does change, I’ve always kinda likes lighting though. It never really got in the way and there is no pin to bend in the phone.

I went back to my 13 pro and SE 2022. My 14 pro max was a hassle having to chat with my carrier to switch my esim to one device to another. Apple should give its customers the option to choose esim and Sim.
The periscope lens is only in the Pro Max model since it needs a lot of space.
I'm still rocking the iPhone 6S Plus, so this would be a big upgrade for me once I upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Lighting Port is better than usbc so guess I’ll be getting a 14. Not compatibility wise but working wise. Too many usbc ports have went damaged for me. My switch is the longest lasting

I upgrade yearly until I find the phone I’m satisfied enough to keep. I kept the 13 cuz it was a solid device. I also upgraded because I needed the 2 cameras. The 14 48 mp camera is definitely better but the rest of the phone? Too similar. I love it and use the dynamic island tho. The 15 I’ll probably upgrade to if it has thunderbolt especially. That’s huge.

My biggest complaint with the 12 was the discomfort holding it. Sound ms like apples rounding the edges a bit. Hope that helps be more comfortable 😊
I agree, the square design looks good, but let's be real, the most comfortable iPhone ever was the iPhone 3G with it's very rounded back, and the 6-11 round ones after that.

Let my wife talk me into getting a 13 pro max and it was good for the first year but never felt excited towards it coming from a s10+ prior. Other than battery life was a huge jump but I'm sure newer androids can still compete. Only thing I see interesting in this new model is the type C charger but that honestly it 😅

I'm not a fan of the action button. It'd be great if it could launch google assistant; but not sure they'd allow other assistants to function with it. The same way Samsung blocked the feature with the S10. Even if they did, it would not be seamless. Other than that, I'd prefer the mute switch itself.

This is design refinement... Been this way since the original. I can see the phone will be rounded around the edges which will make it a lot more comfortable to hold.

@@haezeushawkins436 How is it the same? The Porsche 911 base and the 911 Turbo S are by all means “the same”, why would people go crazy about a Turbo S or a GT3 then? It’s what you don’t see that matters.

I was told that changed out that silent switch for a button that will be used for like a quick camera button so u would press that button to either take photos or to direct u to the camera app to take pictures…but not quite sure yet

Still using my iPhone 12 Pro. Probably will upgrade to the 15 solely because of USB-C. I haven’t been able to charge my iPhone 12 with the lightning cable since I cleared out all the pocket lint from the cable port. There was so much lint that it must’ve bent the charging pins in a manner that doesn’t allow them to make contact with a connected lightning cable. I literally can only charge my phone wirelessly lol 😂
I had that issue but after mine got cleaned out it fixed the problem

I’m happy I didn’t wait for the 15 pro max and opted for the 14 pro max. This wouldn’t have been worth waiting another year instead of getting a new phone ( I had an iPhone X)

I’ve had my XS max since 2018 so I definitely need an upgrade. And just like before I’ll make sure it lasts me a good 3-4 years before I get an upgrade then
So basically I’ll be able to take my current LaterCase for my iPhone 14 Pro, and use my Dremel to make the charging port a bit larger and I’ll be good to go. 😅

No, the volume buttons won't work the same either. The case will push them down on this new 15 rocker switch
