Watch The Joel Klatt Show now: bit.ly/JoelKlattShow
Imagine Hester with an advantage like that
You’re going to have someone break the current records with this new rule and we will see stuff like, “X is now the all time leader in return TDs. Legend.”
Kicker would just kick the Football out of bounds... Let the Offense start at the 40 yard line
Deion, Bo, Adrian Peterson, there's groups of guys T.O. Megatron. Hester would dominate.
@@Charles_842besides Deion and Hester u just throwing names out there.
he would average 15 TDs a year for like 6 years straight
Prepare for the average starting position to be on the 45-50 yd line
It’s an L, ruining this game. As if the game needed more adjustments smh
Kicker would just kick the Football out of bounds... Let the Offense start at the 40 yard line
@@blackcobra1981or out the endzone and they get it at the 30 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 This 💩 SUCKS
"I don't even recall ever seeing a football kicked before."
Keyshawn Johnson
Kickoffs on madden about to be wild
EA won't change it because it would require them to do their actual job.
@@Chris-Rife right. They just do roster updates every year and sell us the same game.
@@Chris-RifeMadden will probably be delayed this year due to “technical difficulties” 😂
with the kickoff and new tackling changes EA Madden Team losing dey damn mind
I didnt like it but thinking about it, its way better than touchbacks constantly
Bingo
Yeah, I HATE touchbacks. I don't think they should be allowed.
Touchbacks are fun when executed. The NFL is stripping the very fabric that we enjoyed watching. Plus this isn’t great for fantasy football
Yes it’s MUCH better to take one of the most special and exciting plays in the sport and make it ho-hum.
I prefer to see drives and well designed play calling, incrementally moving the ball down the field, fighting for that 3rd and one 4th and 1, instead of five seconds of movement with kick off returns for TDs. The kick off isn't where the excitement should be IMO but in play.
Xfl gave the NFL so much innovations like skycam and now this kickoff
That's the only I've heard about. Any others lol
Is 2 not enuf? @@ceezgeez1793
“He hate me” custom name like Ochocinco
@@df6148 you saying he hate me lets me know you never seen the 2020 or 2023 xfl only the 2001 version lol
They also took micd up
XFL is actually really good. I know people immediately dismiss the XFL because its not the NFL. But its professional football and its actually really good. I tried it out in person last year and got hooked. its cheap to go to games and the players play hard. XFL has also had so many innovations that the NFL has benefited from. So if you're not a XFL fan I say give it a try. Youll be surprised.
Gonna have a kick returner winning the MVP 😂
Can you imagine D.Hester with these rules?
He would have 20 kick off tds s a year
Yeah, and some bum that had 0 kickoff return tds last year will have more than he ever did watch. It's bs.
I’m excited about the UFL this weekend 🙏
KaVontae Turpin boutta have a ball next year lol
ufl W!
He's gonna make the pro bowl
It’s not about “safety”.. It’s about finding ways to give offenses better field position. Which will then lead to more scoring. Which will lead to more point spread scenarios for online betting. Genius move by the NFL honestly.
That's facts
Genius moves from a business standpoint but ruining the game loll
Put your best run blockers and your speed guy and teams will dial up some creative stuff for this
Should’ve went back to the original kickoffs .. season openers and super bowls opening kickoffs won’t look the same
Can't do it in today's litigious society
Imagine if Devin Hester had these rules 😂😂😂
Key’s issue is that he refuses to agree with Skip. Skip has had some super valid points lately, and Key has made himself look like a fool trying to upend those points.
I’ve noticed that. No matter what Skip says, Key has to have the complete opposite view, almost forced.
It's part of the show. The shtick is they're debating. He's just not as good at selling the character as Sharpe was.
thats literally the point my dude
Key knows everything apparently. It’s annoying but it’s all we got right now
Turpin is gonna have a generational year
Hopefully!!! God bless the xfl!!!
Skips gonna love the ban on the “hip tackle” u til it cost the Cowboys a trip to the Super Bowl 😂
And by costing them a trip to the Super Bowl, I'm assuming you must mean a Divisional Round game that would've been followed by playing a team they should've beaten... if only they'd won the game before.
I would rather see every team just start with the ball at the 25 yard line than to see this semi-pro gimmick. I also don't like this new format because it eliminates the surprise element of an onside kick.
I hate how there is no more on side kick… I like when people did the sneak onside the first play that’s over now
Soon enough, they’ll start incorporating flags, to pull from players waist & remove tackling.
tell me youve never watched a game without saying youve never
@@revolutionaryclownyour point being?
@@ridoxxx_0030 better than touchbacks obviously 😂 when have you seen teams leading more than a field goal in the second half try to kick it to the 5
It's a good setup, but there needs to be a few adjustments. The main one being that you need to allow at least 3 players from the kicking team to be 5 yards back from the rest and allow them to move from freely along that line.
I love it. Kickoffs are a waste of time. Nothing happens
Go watch the xfl then. Kickoffs aren’t meant to be special. It’s a special teams phase. It’s supposed to be like that. That’s why it’s called a “kickoff” fans like you and other higher ups in the nfl are gonna ruin this game. What a shame
@@ridoxxx_0030 so you rather just see them call fair catches and touchbacks ? Because the xfl version didn’t have all of that bs
@@edwardjones1482 i don’t watch football for kickoffs bruh, I watch the for the actual game and drives. That’s what makes football exciting. Idc about kickoffs they’re fine the way they are and more of an accomplishment if you score a touchdown. Like I said it’s a special teams phase which is rarely exciting. Just like the punt, this isn’t meant to be “exciting” it’s just a kickoff. Go watch the xfl if you don’t like it, the game is fine the way it is and was even better before catering to all the offenses. What a joke
@@edwardjones1482 I’ll say it again you like the xfl version then go watch that. Switching it up changes the entire game not just the kickoff. Are you dumb frfr or what?
@@ridoxxx_0030you sound like you just started watching football in the last few years when they moved the spot up and nothing but touchbacks. They use to have people who made a living returning kicks and it was a big part of the game when a higher percentage of kick were returned and made a impact on the game. I mean a guy named Hester just made the hall of fame solely because of it, so just cause you don’t care doesn’t mean no one else does.
WOW.. this is a literal game changer
The muffed kick return is gone now, too. If I drop the ball I got a few more seconds to recover.
Didn't think about that...
Dont drop the ball
Skip rolling with Keyshawn is the end of his career. Keyshawn was booted from ESPN for a reason. Skip shouldve found someone better
Why can’t they have all 3 or even all 4 when Michael’s there? They just need a bigger table. I’d like to hear Paul’s take on football since we always get to hear Key’s take on basketball.
This is gonna be weird. Imagine if Team A keeps putting together long drives down the field to score touchdowns. And Team B keeps just running kickoffs back for touchdowns.
Kickoffs will never be the same from the 1980s!!!! Electric and Excitement!!!!!
Sadly true, NFL from the late 70s to the early 90s were peak NFL. This game they trot out these days is a sad imitation.
The kick returners about to have a field day literally 🏃🏽♂️💨
At first I was thinking they’re able to show replays now but then realized it’s from the XFL is probably why…
It's sports entertainment. How ppl still believe it isn't lol. The betting....fantasy football....their license ....etc
13:36 No Diddy‼️
How will this affect onside kicks
So did they fire Richard? He has not been on since his DUI
What’s the percentage of kickoff returns for TDs currently in XFL under this rule
Might as well make it flag football wit the no hip drop tackles
Keep crying
Yea that rule nobody likes except for the NFL
I bet in 4 years the QBs will have flags. Then another 4 years later, everyone will have flags
The line should be at the 50. If the return team can have 2 deep then so should the kicking team
Whole lot better than seeing 80% of all kick offs go into the end zone.
what about onside kicks, how are they going to implement that ?
It’s the same as it was just no surprises got to tell the ref what you doing and they tell the return team
There’s gonna be so many holding calls on kickoff returns it’s gonna be crazy
and now scoring will be off the charts, the stats will be skewed. 70-40 final
So it seems the NFL wants NBA scores. With no hip drop tackles and this kickoff rule. 85-75 scores
We watch for the bangs and the smacks
I hate the new onside kick rule personally
I think this is gonna bring more holding & blocking calls on kickoffs too
You might see them back to back imagine that game tying Kickoff return and then the other team goes score on the kickoff to gain the lead again lol shots going to be crazy
I think the show is better with Keyshawn because of his intellect. Shannon has personality but Keyshawn counters Skip more intellectually
All Key does is say the opposite of Skip, even after the rare occurrence that Skip makes sense.
They mad skip will stay winning regardless who his co-host is 🤣
Kadarius Toney just got saved.
Man, i do miss the edge that Shay brought... His fire and grind against Skip was a great Yin and Yang, regardless of who brought what, brings more, brought more, etc.
It was a great run with those two.
I'm not checking this every day like i did when Shay was involved, but on the flipside, i ain't checking out Shay's new stuff with Stephen A.
Shay's youtube channel will probably watch more.
But... wtf is up with that wine trip?! Scary..
Percy like, I’m available
Can ypu imagine how this is gonna effect passing yards.
If I werethe teama facing this I would be really sure to get some fast guys like DK Metcalf size and speed for defending these plays.
How does a touchback work in this case? Are there no more touchbacks?
If a team like the Steelers brings in a return specialist, what’s to stop the other team from just kicking everything in the end zone for a touchback when the kicker is that close to the end zone? Or is a touchback now going to mean the other team gets the ball at the 50?
If the gets kicked into the end zone it goes to the 35 yard line but the ball hits the ground and then rolls into the end zone the ball goes on the 20 yard line
Should be interesting man. I’m kinda excited to see it
Who gives a damn about the onside kick when they are almost never recovered?
That settles it Xavier worthy’s stock just went up easily a top 10 pick 😂
kickoffs on madden gone be op
No wonder destroying got recruited that boy lowkey is a safety after kicking the ball. That man gone be blasting people 😂
Just get rid of kicking all together
I wanna see like 4 kickoff returns in a row 😂
Love it we need the excitement UFL SETTING TRENDS NFL could never
So what if a coach wants to do a trick play and do an on side kick
U cant
@@viva_la_topa_8886 that’s so lame
What about punts? That’s still somebody running full speed 🤦🏾♂️
What if a team is trailing and need an onside kick?
You can still do it, just no surprise onsides.
Imagine if it did get out of hand and there was a game where every kickoff was returned for a TD. It would litterally just be a game of kickoffs...😮
i love how they never explain the rule
There's going to be so many flags of people moving early
This feels like a rule change you make in a Madden franchise. Going to be fun to watch
teams gone open the drive on the damn opposing teams 40
Better rule, make the kicker kick with out a running start
What’s the percentage of run back TD’s in the XFL?
Not high. I think they showed the only two returned for tds. And one was in 2020.
@@rtyable but the return percentage was higher than the nfl , tds made on kickoffs not high but not alot of touchbacks or fair catches like the nfl
@edwardjones1482 oh I agree that the returns are higher, and it makes it better than the nfl touch touchback on every kick. I was just answering the question on the tds. To those who think like Keyshawn that there's going to be a td on every kick, calm down, it's not gonna happen.
This has turned into Keshawn argues against Keshawn.
Kicking in the end zone isn't allowed in this new rule I believe.
I would like Sherman’s view on this
So is this gonna change h.s and college?
Kevin turnip gonna go crazy with this
I think they should have done away with touchbacks, and make kicking into/through the endzone a penalty, just like kicking out of the sidelines. If the ball isn't caught/touched by the receiving team and bounces into the endzone, then it comes out to the 25.
That would go against everything they are trying to do. They wanted more touchbacks for safety reasons
@@MikeBNumba6 Then eliminate kickoffs altogether...problem solved. This is just plain dumb.
What about onside kicks
Will have to allow the offense to start on the 30 yard line to avoid a kickoff return for a td
Hurray!
Who is ever surprised at a onside kick? Everyone already knows.
Xavier Worthy stock just went up
Henry “Gizmo” Williams
Kickoff doesn't bother me really it's different and could work
I hope the league gets all 40 to 50 point games with no fans watching I’m done with the NFL ✌🏾
The game is being ruined. Why mess with something that has been working for generations?!
They want high scores, and a big play every game.
Well we do like high scoring games. Also let's be honest we rarely see the starting field position be past the 30 so who cares. Makes special teams an integral part of the game again
So what happens with onside kick
I think it’s essentially gone
Oline has been destroying the dline and offense has been dominating the defense all spring so far!
I’m sure Madden creators are happy with this.
Skip said “maybe if you insert DTs it would slow them up” bruh ain’t no mf DT catching Patterson 😂
Could the nfl just make it so a touchback kickoff is like a penalty on the kicking team and the receiving team starts their drive at the 40. That way the kickoff needs to pull up short of the goal line on the full encouraging returns. If kickoff landed in the field of play and bounced into the end zone the receiving team then would start at their own 10 basically penalising the receiving team for not catching and returning. Preserves the kickoff as is and encourages returns.
I love the new kickoff rule
Football was a great sports before all the gimmicks and rules changes
In fairness, this kickoff was never meant to be adopted by the NFL. The XFL was designed to be a different brand of football altogether. When The Rock and Dany bought the league out of bankruptcy, they made a deal with the NFL to use the league as a testing ground for new rules and features.
Let’s be real, how many kick offs really start with the return team getting a running start??? Well the returner anyway????
With NFL giving defenders a bunch of disadvantages. What if they give defenses a power play for two minutes. Where the offense only plays with ten players.
So if someone breaks the return record does that count?
