I give "top" RBs a 5-year shelf life. Meaning outside of their typical rookie contracts of 4 years, there is typically a steep decline by year 5 and it never gets better. Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley. Both guys faded heavily in their fifth year and for good reason. You have these players rushing the ball nearly 300 times a season, not to mention the number of times they have to block plus catch the ball. They're driven into the ground early and very few actually last. You have to be something special to be consistently good at RB in the NFL and that is why I'd never over pay a RB.
Frank Gore is a rare case, He's the definition of a workhorse and has been a personal favourite of mine since I got into football. Adrian Peterson as well.

Zeke is more of a machine than a beast. I hope that makes sense. Zeke isn’t really known for home-run type of plays. He’s more about getting you 5-6 yards every down and theres nothing wrong with that.

Dallas had a qb throw for 5k yards last year so he’s not gonna get the touches he normally gets but he still was 4th in the league and had 14 tds which was more tds than last year. He’s still a stud

EE had one of the best O-Lines in football the first couple of years. He was running thru the first and second levels untouched. Now the O-Line is decent and the holes are not wide open as they once were we are seeing the truth. I don't think he is past prime but now he has to evolve and the question is can he level up.

You could see that all defenses in the league last year were targeting Zeke,it didn't help that the offensive coordinator kept running him on first down and sometimes 1st-2nd, the need to mix it up better is very important this season

Hes a work horse.... u dont need explosiveness.... just feed him the ball and let him rack up yards thru dirty work. Hes a stud

You would think this is a commandment, by now, of NFL offense building: Acquire a talented quarterback and develop him. Make sure he is protected. Get receivers who fit your quarterback's strengths.
And... NEVER OVERPAY a running back.

RB's break down fast. Very few get to last as long as the very top of the all time list. Only one had more yards after 30 than before (Riggins). Peterson is another freak of nature.

This year is all about Kellen Moore! He needs to get the offense going in the first half. Too many times we go 3 and out and then chasing the game.

I think Jason Garrett made him the bellcow feature back so to avoid injury, which he has, he packed on more mass. Naturally his speed will decline. Now with McCarthy wanting to incorporate Tony Pollard more to keep Zeke fresh, who knows? He could lose some weight and regain speed. Lots of things to watch for this upcoming season from the Cowboys.

We don’t need Zeke to be like Barry Sanders, just a RB that can pound a team into submission, which he is. Just wait and see this year with the passing game, because Zeke has always had to run into 8 or 9 man boxes his whole career.
