Freezing cold temperatures and very heavy frost keep up busy trying to survive in this harsh environment despite the potential life threatening hazards. Off grid Winter camping in a canvas tent requires teamwork as well as cold weather survival training and SAS survival skills. Bushcraft cooking and bushcraft camping is always challenging when living off-grid in the wilderness. Maintenance and upkeep on our equipment is a priority to keep the winter camp running smoothly. Surviving in frigid cold temperatures down to -40°C is completely doable as long as you follow these basic tips on how to set up a hot tent for winter camping with an internal frame. This method will work with Hot tents, Wall tents, Canvas tents, Outfitter tents or prospector tents. Join us for our winter camping adventures in a hot tent AKA Wall tent, Canvas tent with wood stove, Outfitter tent or a prospector tent. Follow me for bushcraft and survival skill and outdoor cast iron cooking.Check out this in-depth look at my clothing system that I use for cold weather camping. If you have ever wondered how to dress for winter activities this video may be helpful for you. Understanding how to layer your clothing for cold weather will make the difference between an enjoyable time vs an uncomfortable time.

He reminds me of a guy I used to work with. He qould grab 1 tool at a time and bring it to the car he was working on, instead of just grabbing the tools you need in 1 trip. Put steak on plate, position steak just right, set plate down, put steak on next plate, put plate down, grab first put mushrooms and onions on. Too much wasted time in everything he did. Lol

I've seen the split log stove idea before and have always wanted to try it. I truly enjoyed not hearing the usual "now I'm doing this" and "now I'm doing that" chit-chat. The quiet is more true to the real thing. Thanks...

That's stupid. That's a week of squatting like an animal when you shit. That's a week of doing everything you want to do in a day for like 4 hours and then being bored as fuck the other 16. That's a week of sleeping like shit because the wind and other noises will wake you up at all hours. That's a week of being so fucking cold that you stop paying attention to your toes and realize they're purple later when you take your boots off.

We have a similar winter camp in northern Ontario up near Steele Lake Lake Superior country. All the comforts and you can always stay busy making the camp more cozy or cutting firewood and of course the best pickerel fishing anywhere. The average temp in Jan and Feb is about -35 but its dry air not damp which makes the day more pleasant. I enjoyed your video very much. Thank You...I live in Marathon on the north shore of Lake Superior
