    It also looks like a large chuck of the west side of the massive front wall collapsed. At least there is a big hole in that wall now. Is there any video of that seen from the BobCam-RagCam?

    When will the volcano stop?

  • @JustBob-sw4rf
    @JustBob-sw4rf 3 년 전

    I would think that this indicates that the sustained level of lava in the vent continues to fall. To a certain extent the sides of the cone are supported by the lava. As it recedes that partial support goes away and the walls cave in.

    Underpaid workers, shoddy construction methods, and magma-based building materials - this was a disaster waiting to happen. It's as if building something as simple as a volcano is beyond today's construction companies! Totally unacceptable! Icelanders deserve better than this! 😉 ☺

    • @GoCoyote
      @GoCoyote 3 년 전 +2

      When the real estate market is this hot, construction companies can get away with anything. Just goes to show, if you want your volcano built right, you have to build it yourself.

      I wasn't trying to be clever/sarcastic. The scene reminded me of the old dinosaur movies I would watch as a kid in the 70s. Not sure how anyone could take anything negative from my original comment and send me rhetoric like you have. I've not left a question mark because I'm not seeking a reply.

  • @peaceonearth8693

    This noise effect is getting a little too 60's Japanese mega monster movie. Why so over-the-top? (Not a wall collapse pun btw.)

      That's called wind. You know, when air moves across an unprotected microphone, it sounds like that.

    • @peaceonearth8693
      @peaceonearth8693 3 년 전

      @@Mp57navy FYI, they add that wind noise as a sound effect. And, I don't think it's intended to be wind. I think it's supposed to be/represent the eruption. Final thought, wind isn't usually a steady drone that sounds at all times in these videos. Which goes back to the it's supposed to pretend to be the actual sound of the eruption. But I can tell it's a sound effect added in. From a process of deduction.

    • @RoxnDox
      @RoxnDox 3 년 전

      Guys, that *is* the sound of the eruption. The gases blasting out of the molten rock sounds like a jet engine going... Yes there is wind noise as well. No, it is not some added sound effect.
