I would suggest to you that a child in a home with two loving women is way better than a group home. Group homes, at least from my limited experience, screw kids up. I also don't believe that it's a choice to be LGBTQ and the child can just be nurtured into it. But let's say that's true...
      This is not a huge group of Americans. Google says 2% of Americans choose adoption with about 2.5% of children who have been adopted and that's all of them. If you then factor in only 3.5% of Americans consider themselves LGBTQ. It's a very small number of LGBTQ couples who choose to adopt and either not have kids or use other techniques like artificial insemination.
      And all that aside... It's a rights issue. Unless someone could prove that same sex parents adoption is detrimental. It should be allowed

I can say with confidence that lgbtq foster parents are just as capable and loving as hetero foster parents. The vetting for foster parents does a good job of ensuring kids end up in a safe and loving household so by enacting limits on lgbtq adoption or fostering you're just increasing the number of kids without a stable loving family. What makes this a difficult issue, is that "are we dealing with a public service, or a private service?" Because it is a public service, then the public sector has a non-discrimination imperative, thus any denial of service due to lgbtq status should be stopped swiftly and decisively. But if it's a private service, it is messed up to discriminate against lgbtq people, but unfortunately that is protected under freedom of association.
    That's why for stuff like foster care and adoption, there needs to be a public option that's a viable alternative for middle-class people.

    This is NOT a win for religious freedom as it has been rendered only with the view of placating a single religious belief, that of a handful of very narrow interpretations of Christianity. As always, it ignores the fact that there are a multitude of belief systems in this world & when our judiciary chooses to place one above all others, as is being done here with this issue, it literally denies all those who do not follow the precepts of that very narrow vein of religious beliefs, the religious freedoms they claim to be preserving.
    I am watching my rights as a Vaishnava being eroded. I am watching the rights of many other forms of faith undergoing the same process of erosion. And I, as an American citizen, am watching the laws of this once great country that claimed to be all about religious freedom & separation of church & state increasingly embrace laws that force everyone to comply with the dogma of the most rigid forms of Christianity as practiced by the most unyielding forms of Protestant & Catholic branches of Christianity.
    This has nothing to do with religious freedom & everything to do with forcing the same religious dogma upon all people within these not so United States.

    The same country privatized their mental health department and child services. Please get educated to understand the whole picture. They make money by not helping abused kids, even to the point that the kids die in the hands of their own parents. In this country where medical bills are so high that people die refusing to call the ambulance, which costs thousands of dollars, biggest protests are about gay rights. The whole situation is chaotic. Trying to address and put out fire in one area and BOOM another law passed, another problem.

  • @averagesauceenjoyer7209

    Let me explain from my analysis plus experience.
    Owning people just because you had sex one night without a condom or protection then getting pregnant and giving birth doesn't make you suddenly moral or a saint. Let's not even talk about the sheer number of people who get pregnant before marriage than marry to cover it, or people who take used condoms and insert it in themselves to have children so that if you divorce you keep the money going.
    The issue is living with people who just got you for their financial benefit or as an accident for more than 18 years in a closed building with what's happening to the kid hidden should be considered immoral.
    Afghaanis support Taliban because of this factor, Chinese hate all other countries because of this, Japanese killed people because of this, idk who else. Kids should be free from this shackles in my opinion, also what kids learn and how they are treated is not the same, Equality is not even assured since your birth. Some go to Harvard some go to the mosque and considered literate by the state cz he can read the brainwashing material. Some go to Oxford some die in the country side with their dream drawing of becoming a doctor or a scientist in his old drawer. Problems keep generating when the Main and root Problem is not seen or denied.

    It is sad that to see my country is going down the gutter with issues like this. Religion should have no say on this issue. If I'm interested in helping children to get adopted but at the same time I don't feel an LGBTQ couple isn't perfect for adopting, then I should seriously consider helping children in other ways. On the other hand, if I was in a LGBTQ couple and willing to adopt a child, I would try non-religious organizations to avoid these obstacles. I know couples in the LGBTQ community that adopted children and they are doing wonderful, but at the same time as a religious person my self, I understand why some religious people are reluctant. It is sad to say, but most religious people are double standard, they are ok with killing people in wars and executions but they are not comfortable with LGBTQ couples adopting kids who need help so desperately. Just my honest opinion...

      From what I understand yes. Adoption is incredibly expensive and a very time consuming process. The risk with fostering is that they could move the child out of your custody.

    The Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino? She's a former law clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas. If that doesn't tell you what she believes in and stands for, I'll quote Wikipedia on what JCN is: " The Judicial Crisis Network (JCN), formerly known as the Judicial Confirmation Network, is an American conservative advocacy organization based in the United States... In 2020, the Center for Responsive Politics described JCN as having 'unmatched influence in recent years in shaping the federal judiciary."
    So when she says she's never seen a court that is " as supportive of people of faith in living memory as this court" what she actually means is: we've never seen a court with such bankrupt values that they're willing to use the constitutionally guranteed right of religious freedom to restrict the rights of the people we think are SINNERS. We are seriously fucked for generations without packing the supreme court if this supreme court continues like this and so many cases are decided with a conservative bias in mind.

    We need to better understand the impact of same sex parents on adopted kids. For example, if a boy has two moms and lacks a male role model, does it adversely affect his mental growth?

    • @CcCcc215
      @CcCcc215 2 년 전 +4

      That’s delusional. Single moms and single dads exist. Same sex couples fill the role of parenting. Parenting isn’t different for a man or woman. I grew up with a single mom like so many other kids. The difference is I had a parent. The foster care system is very broken and I’m sure any child would prefer loving parents over staying in the system. Children in the system deserve to be put in a good home and the parents sexual orientation shouldn’t negate that.

      @pavelimani 2 년 전 +1

      @@CcCcc215 Don't be so defensive. It is well documented that the lack of a good male/female role model leads to development problems including starting a criminal career. However, like you said, the question is not same-sex parents vs. traditional family. The real question is same-sex parents vs. a broken foster care system. We need to understand which is better for kids. We do not have all the answer yet.

      @@pavelimani Maybe people that love eachother create a better household for children to live in! Have you ever thought about that? I was raised in a heterosexual household and it was terrible. I'm sure their are heterosexual households out their that are great and I'm all for that but kids can experience the same thing for same-sex parents. I honestly wish I would've been raised by either a loving heterosexual family or loving same-sex couple I honestly could care less.

      They, can't. At least not the lesbian and gay part. You do know how a child is conceived, right? If you don't know, it's best to ask parents or family members. The internet is not the place to learn things like this. If you do know, I can tell you why couples of the same sex can't have kids together

    Considering the fact that it is a private religious institution they simply have every right to abide by their own religious code. For the government to impose anything against ones right of conscience in and of itself is discriminatory. There are far more private adoption agencies that are not bound by religious codes or religious affiliation that this couple can go to which will gladly help them in their endeavor.
