Remember watching this on TV, thank you for making this. Epileptic (with intractable seizures) here and afraid my care from family is a getting scarce as they are aging. The persons covered in this piece are FAR more in need than I am and the DHS views people with my capabilities, persons covered within the piece, AS EQUAL, no in between, DHS sees you as you either degrees of LTC or NOT AT ALL. The red tape with state DHS (Hawaii I'm thankful they are quick BUT harsh with filling out paperwork, Nevada where I thought I tried contacting is HORRIBLE, no contact with me trying to move but have given up). This piece did bring up the absolute biggest fear: loneliness, if I can cognitively navigate it and feel this, feel the darkness that looms over even as more able than most, empathizing with everyone in the piece made me tear up and hope the best for them. And being optimistic as a nihilist (because extra brain activity/feelings = seizures) is a different feeling for me. (apologize for the long comment)

I’m an American with a family member with disabilities and the lack of services and government assistance has literally torn my family apart. Family members have had to quit their jobs and make financial sacrifices to become full time caregivers just to help out. Some family member can’t even afford to help out and that created tension and animosity. I personally had to drop out of school and became a certified caregiver, full-time. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. I don’t regret it because my family member with disabilities deserves the help, care, and love. But it TOUGH, to say the least.

This is the exact kind of thing I needed while going through a depression and big life changes which have sparked big panic pretty deep with in me. That due to these changes and the current state of our modern American society standards, that me and my younger brother will someday be facing a big challenge of how to sustain a normal life and not becoming homeless or lose all that my family has because my family rents everything, we own nothing, so if a sudden event happens and Me and my brother can't pay bills on 4 storage units, rent for the house, etc. We would not just be homeless but lose the memories and meaningful items from our family that we've been good at passing down to from grandparents to parents to grandchildren. It's just this fear that has appeared after going through multiple surgeries from injuries which made me have to leave my job I've held for the last 6 yrs and my 55yr old dad having multi-strokes out of the blue. It just out of no where is sorta giving me mid life crisis type stress so. I really appreciate the work you guys do. I really hope our country enhances how much it helps its own people keep a base standard of living, so we don't see a huge increase in a future generation of lots of struggling/homeless middle aged family members like that once they become stranded on their own. Not all of us are blessed to live in families who own things and homes.. I think poverty is a way bigger issue then anyone wants to admit and if the country was smart it would help with that issue before it gets super bad... ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Not 5000 new millionaire entrepreneurs backed by government loans..... to be clear I'm just talkin 💩 because I don't know how many millionaire entrepreneurs backed by government loans exist in Pennsylvania, or even in the US or the world, but I'm a disabled veteran and I think those care workers should not be making less than McDonald's workers they should be making more then the POTUS! This is what I hope the coming Socialist Revolution will fix in this Nation. Everyone should have easy and free access to Socialized Medicine. No change in quality of care other than it getting better. We shouldn’t have to struggle getting things we are owed. We were promised Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness; but we aren’t given that. We are left struggling to take care of ourselves and our friends and family, even strangers deserve the help they deserve. But this government doesn’t care about us so change must be done now. The Revolution will come to give us our Life and Liberty back. The United States Government is the enemy of the people because they’re letting Corporations take over everything and let them treat us as dirt. While politicians line their pockets with money from Corporations we get poorer. I’m done being treated like trash. And if people try to shut me down and make me feel crazy for these views and truths then you are just supporting a broken system because it doesn’t effect you one bit so you don’t want change but the world doesn’t care if you don’t want change. It’ll come no matter what.
