The Unstudied Link Between the COVID Vaccine and Periods

  • After Katharine Lee got her COVID-19 vaccine, she noticed an unusual side effect: a heavier period. She shared her observation with a fellow anthropologist, Kathryn Clancy, who had the same reaction. Clancy posted her findings on Twitter and the tweet went viral--apparently, they weren’t alone in this: thousands of people were experiencing similar side effects from the vaccination. The two biological anthropologists went on to launch a research study into the effects the COVID-19 vaccines might have on the menstrual cycle. Early findings: even some people who had aged out of periods, or were on hormone-suppressing drugs, experienced sudden, heavier periods.
But this wasn’t one of the side effects that the CDC looked for in its studies.
As it turns out: this comes from a long lineage of periods, and people with periods, being overlooked in scientific studies. VICE News digs into the history of how and why scientists have failed to adequately study periods and kept any information they do have away from the people who have them. And how that’s having very real consequences today.

The chances of getting sick and transmitting are lower. The chances of serious illness and death are extremely low. The chances of serious side effects are also extremely low. People need to weigh this up with the chances of serious illness/death from Covid if they are unvaccinated. Also, the more people with antibodies either through vaccination or natural infection in a specific community, the higher the protection through herd immunity will be, and the lower the potential for mutations of this virus. It is very frustrating that the messaging on this is so unclear. People need clear facts so they can make clear choices.

I just spent 4 hours reading the comment section. It is amazing and inspiring to see so many women share, discuss, correlate & analyse the situation going on with these vaccines at the moment. As a person with Endo, whose painful period symptoms were never taken seriously by doctors, it was incredible to hear so many women speak their truth loud and proud. We deserve a healthcare system that doesn't exploit us !
    Please remember that:
    1. Menstrual/fertility issues are SERIOUS - they could have long term effects, or cause death, not just disrupted periods
    2. Most want to dismiss us because they are conditioned to think these side effects are super rare, when they are not
    3. If this report by Vice is not taken seriously, if they continue to dismiss all these cases as anecdotal, the only solution would be for all of us to unite together as women of all races and religions and fight Big Pharma to its death. For our men too, they will thank us later.

My initial thought: Could this have something to do with how COVID itself makes periods worse? I've heard multiple women - both strangers on the internet and people I know - say that it's extremely miserable to have their period while sick with COVID. Sad that there's such a huge knowledge gap when it comes to medicine and menstruation.

My period started 2 days into covid and lasted for 21 days!! I’ve never had such a crazy period before in my life! It was no fun at all. But that’s not surprising. Infections like the flu can absolutely cause changes to your cycle. Anything that puts a lot of stress on the body can mess things up. @@selahmorse Like what? Everything is designed to function for people. Just because women are more likely to be short arses, doesnt mean we should make ceilings shorter and cars smaller. If door frames were too short, not everybody could use doors comfortably, having things made bigger than they need to be, means that you can accomodate people of all sizes. Lots of 7 foot men struggle with a lot of things because they are too tall for everything, designers will try to make things within reason, big enough to accomodate the tallest of men, they want products to be suitable for the widest range of people, while targeting the average still when it comes to functionality. Imagine if they started making cars to suit a 5ft4in tall person, they would be unable to sell this car because even though the husband doesnt make most consumer decisions, he will veto the purchase of this car when he tests out the drivers seat.
I swear, feminists seem to think the whole world is out to get them, that all men hate them, usually they are ugly or perhaps think they are ugly, are insecure and believe that nobody likes them, that we all just consider women as property. The feminist worldview is so removed from reality, dont believe everything you read online, they want you fighting with men, they want all people to be at each others necks at all times, blacks, whites, men, women, this is how they maintain their control, how they divert your attention towards trivial things while they take away your rights and freedoms.

Thank you for making this video, it’s really concerning how taboo it is to mention any side effects aside from the immediate postvax effects.
My periods have been awful since I got my second moderna dose in early june. I’m out of commission half the time, because I’ve been getting intense physical PMS symptoms up to two weeks before my period actually starts- major fatigue, migraines, excruciating back pain that’s worse than a kidney infection (I never used to get period-related back pain). My skin has been awful, too. I used to get mild breakouts on my chin a few days leading up to my period, but now I get huge, painful cystic hormonal acne throughout my face.
I’m not antivax by any means, I got the damn thing, but I just wish that it wasn’t so taboo to talk about these side effects.

It’s intentional. There’s a shift towards referring to women by their bodily functions so you have ridiculous terms like “pregnant people” and “chest feeders” all under the guise of inclusivity. Really it’s just insulting to women.

Two colleagues in my department got server effects for life, 1 blood clots and heart attack now operated and on meds for life, the other neurological desease and disabled probably fir life since doctors don't even know what to do with him, he can't even walk some days and used to be a sportsman up until the first shot they are both in their 30s and otherwise healthy and none on their relatives have suffered anything like that in the past. Astra 1 dosis and Pziser 1 dosis. I have also heard of colleagues friends and relatives dozens of them now but these two I can confirm for sure as I know then personally and fell sick after first jab. Both have refused second but neither has reported it officially because the doctors say there is no evidence it's the jab which means.... on paper the jabs are safe when they clearly aren't. Good luck everybody

The average white woman doesn’t even know that WOC are 3 to 4x more likely to die during childbirth or pregnancy then white women. Even in places with little economic differences. Which basically implies that doctors are straight up ignoring the claims made by non-white women during pregnancy. So many white liberals going on and on about “stupid people who won’t take the vaccine” but can’t even tell you what Tuskegee was. Fucking mind blowing.
