Very sad. One of my best buddies in in an ICE lockup. But on the other hand, at CIM California Institute for Men, Chino, California, there were at least 14 prisoners, all Americans, that died (non-prison violence, pre-covid related) in a 19 month span which apparently is so un-newsworthy that the media never bothered with.

They are more likely to scorn at such affairs. And anyone truly to be interested will be only family/friends of the inmates!

I actually have extreme anxiety watching this as a DACA recipient, my worst nightmare. I was brought here by my parents from Honduras as a 6 year old. Now im 24, graduated, pay taxes and just watching 👀 minding my own business, haven't ever even gotten a ticket bc I'm so scared of this. 😔
People who abide by a sovereign nation's immigration laws have very little to be worried about. However, once you decide to start violating the law you should know that it's just a matter of time until state agencies apprehend you.

Problem is, jail officials allow bad things to happen to have a reason to say, "these ppl are bad!" But forget, ICE, INS is suppose to be a civil situation, not criminal law. The family has a lawsuit under federal law. Not state.

Solitary confinement is the best way to crack anyone
Some people aspire to solitary. When you're in prison there's a chance someone who murdered someone they LOVED is sleeping near you. Some have not got killing out of their system so you never really sleep good, but you can in solitary or "The Hole". I've been celled up with some killers and no matter how cool you get with them you have to keep in mind they are killers.There are other people in cells around you, so you can communicate, even play chess, etc.
Or, y’know, just stop fights on the cell block.

Functional Prisons that rehabilitate people **along with a proper social safety net** (ie they need to be able to have jobs/healthcare, as these often are factors) **DO WORK** the USA simply just hasn't pushed for them. Instead we choose for profit prisons, and mandatory minimums for non-violent crimes.

It really sickens me that I struggle with many of the same mental health issues as Gene did, but because of my privilege in this country, I am still alive and he is not.
I’ve been able to receive expensive medications and quality lifesaving intervention, and he got denied treatment and medication, and died in solitary confinement alone.
The difference is extreme.

My two oldest sons were born 17 months apart, and I always introduced them as “the twins” because after the younger one, Ty, turned 1, they were developmentally the same. Ty was one year behind his older brother TJ, but they both ended up graduating high school the same year-2009. They are still close with their other siblings, too. My oldest daughter was my helper when they were little and she still is there to help with advice, “siblings vacation” and weddings. They live in 3 different states so getting together for a weekend camping trip is hard. But definitely-those two boys, TJ and Ty were like twins as Jean’s sister says here @01:20, approximately. I have to say, too, that she is so beautiful. Natural beauty. Probably the most beautiful girl-lady I’ve seen in the longest time!
Jean was also incredibly handsome. Aside from that, I think Trump and those working with him in the care of detainees should be held responsible as well. It blows my mind that anyone, even 1 human being, would ever want Trump and his crazy staff, his crazy laws, his “wall”, his lies (every day lies and his major ones) or anyone else who supports him or his regime can sleep at night knowing that the only difference between them and Jean was birthplace. Were they in his shoes in detention, they wouldn’t last 1 day!
RIP Jean. Uou and the others who were in custody deserved so much better. Your family deserved better, and should at least get in person apologies. The family should be allowed to sue and receive monetary compensation from The government-federal and state. I’m disgusted even more by republicans, and am glad to no longer be one!

what happened with this guy is messed, but i just gotta say that i'm "legal" and i cant get half the things that the brother had trouble with as well... i deal with pretty bad anxiety and panic attacks but i have no doctor, i have no medicine, i have lived alone for nearly a year with no friends or family, if i told someone everything that goes on in my head they would probably diagnose me as bipolar or multiple-personality or schizophrenic (it runs in the family), and i only get out once every week or two weeks... i have no one to rely on but myself, but i refuse to surrender... If I have to go it alone I will. If anyone out there can relate to this, know that you always have a choice, to fight or to surrender. Surrender your fears and doubts and disbeliefs, but fight for your rights and your life. Aloha.

So a person, brought illegally into America, expired DACA, numerous misdemeanors, and with a known untreated mental health illness committed suicide. Now the family wants to blame other people for a suicide that may have occurred even outside the facility. The sister blames ICE, I blame the family for not seeking mental illness treatment before he was arrested the last time.

So I don't understand why the government should do anything special for someone who didn't have any history of it. I thought ICE accidentally killed this guy after reading the title but after watching the video, now I see that he just killed himself while under ICE custody. Maybe it's just me but Panamanian Spanish sounds very interesting. Definitely stands out when compared compared other dialects of Spanish. Not sure precisely what it is about it but I like it.
