No other K-drama hits me hard like this one, the emotion journey of the King and his unwaved affection toward his woman at some point became heart-wrenching to watch. Excellent acting from both, especially Lee Junho, coming from an idol group 2PM, his acting exceeded my expectation. He is so talented and hard working too, recent recognition (awards) well deserved!

These two seriously owe us a Modern Day drama with a Happy Ending. I love their chemistry and how they brought these roles to Life!!! Hope to see them together again❤️

Junho and Seyoung were fully immersed in their respective characters and the feelings and pains of the characters became them as if its their own. Brilliant acting ... applause 👏👏👏, one of the reasons why the drama is a success.
How would they be able to forget the feelings .... if ever. SanDeok's pains and sorrow had become their pains and sorrow too, thats why it brought tears to them.

I was heartbroken while watching this, especially when you think about it being based in fact. I went on to read as much as I could find out about the King Yi San and Deok Im, it really was a tragic story. JunHo and Lee Seyoung did an excellent job.

The emotional scenes were Phanomenol and the acting was beyond spectacular.

Maybe it's time to watch it again, after having watched "King the Land." 😍😘 This is from Wikipedia: The drama (Red Sleeve) became a success, sweeping 8 awards at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards, with him getting Top Excellence Award. The fact that this was based on true events plus the feeling and emotion the king has for her is so much more it really proves how much she love her

This year i watched my first K drama Mr Queen. I searched its comment sections and i saw people say that "The red sleeve" is also a good show but now i wish i had not watched it. It invested 26 hours of my life in-between pausing to cry, shout or think. my heart is it weeps, these are fictional characters but i was so invested in their lives that their sorrows and happiness became mine as well. This is why im in pain:
In the beginning it was the San who always had his face drawn and sad and Doek-im was always smiling and bright but as the show progressed i saw that smile fade away.
When her friends went off for a picnic, she saw the ghost of her former past smiling and colourful as she waved sadly. It is at this very moment that i understood her as she waved her final goodbyes. Doek-im did love the king but she loved her freedom more. This moment left me so cold and empty because it hits so close to home. I always try to make practical decisions that serve a function i told my brother whom i look up to this and that they bring me happiness and he replied "But, are you living at all" I Am afraid of making a bad decision that will leave me with regret and forever dream about what i could have been. Call me a coward, or boring i guess.
She began to smile less and less while the one that loved her, through her was finally able to experience happiness.
I am overcome with sad emotions whenever a thought of this show crosses my mind. I hate true to life period dramas (I watched the white queen/princess with my sister: The plotting, the scheming the lying it was too much,i lost it when the crown prince and the little princes were alleged murdered and until today nobody knows who did it and where their bodies are. It pained me to see a mother desperately looking for her "Boys" and never truly finding comfort . By the time my sister started watching Spanish princess and The empress i would ask my sister to lower the volume because i did not want to even hear (despite the fact i am the one who got her into period dramas.I wonder if i should drag her into this Misery?) because they always end in tragedy.
I naively choose this show expecting a happily ever after story but as i watched on my rose-tinted glasses began to crack and by the end they were completed shattered.
I thank the production team and the actors for the beautiful scripting and acting. I was truly moved and they deserve Evey ward they got.
comments brings me solace knowing that i am not alone. Sharing my thoughts has made me feel better.

I pray that lee jun ho will receive more historical drama projects. It really suits him ❤️❤️❤️

I just finished rewatching and episode 17 made me cry a second time. This is one of those series where it's heavy, but I'll 100% recommend it.

i just finished this drama , i must say i couldn't even hold my tears i'm just crying like a baby i can't stop during THE WHOLE ep 17 and after it ended , the emotions im feeling right now it's so overwhelming , this drama hit me so hard like no other did i mean the last time i felt every emotion every scene every word was in the gladiator movie i was 10 years old .... i've never felt so down and empty finishing a drama !! the king's unwavering emotions toward his beloved women became heartaching and heart wrenching to watch , the lady's love for her freedom and yet at the end she let herself fall willinglly in the thing she feared the most because of her undeclared love to the king knowing that'll be her end , their devotion to each other become so heavy to watch knowing they're both destined to such tragique end , what broke me the most that it's taken from true history .... hands down to THE BEST historical drama i've watched during my 15 years of k-drama , round of applause to ALL the cast each one they were astaunishing , they truly deserved best drama of the year 2021 i don't care they do , this drama really marked me for life i know that THANK YOU JUNHO AND LEE SE YOUNG for your sincere emotions !

This is the best historical kdrama for me. It's even based on true events. The actors did an excellent work. Cinematography on point. This drama was the first one that got me emotional and i am not an emotional type.

Their so sweet, we just love them we couldn't help but cry. It's sad it was based on a true story.

Some actors and actress develop amazing chemistry that bring the story alive. This incredible talent of agility and versatility is priceless. Lee Se Young and Lee Jun Ho nailed it.

I picked this series randomly and enjoyed what seemed like was going to be a funny and happy ending. Tell me why my heart stopped and I found myself sobbing on a bus halfway to work because that last episode hid all the surprises and NONE OF THEM WERE GOOD ONES 😭😭😭😭 the whole day at work people were asking me if I was ok and I said I'm in mourning 😭😭😂 the acting in this series was brilliant. Loved this series and I don't normally watch anything I know will be sad lol

This is the first Lee Junho's drama that I've watched. It amazes me from Episode 1-17. No doubt this was a very good drama.

I read about the lovestory of King Jeongjo and Royal Consort Uibin a lot and I couldn't stop crying watching the show and their tragic love story. I literally couldn't move on for months every time I think about them. They portrayed their characters very well.

This is one of the best drama series I have watched in my life! Bravo for the whole team of this "Master piece"!

I was speechless by Lee Junho's acting. He really touched me with his tears, like I cried together and felt the pain of his character.
I confess I wasn't expecting much of him because he is an idol ( cha eun woo for example has to improve A LOT). But I was very surprised! He acted even better than some veteran actors (like Lee Min Ho)... His character was a difficult one and he nailed it.
I look forward for his future projects.
