I love that the designers didn’t just use Billie as a vessel for their design but they really cared for what it meant for her to be wearing something like this in regards to her feeling comfortable and supporting a positive body image for her. Love the monochromatic palette of her blush tulle gown and the way it accentuates her own beauty and facial features especially. I've been around long enough to notice there is a trend of artists that start out really edgy and rock and roll, but they have a secret love affair with more traditionally glamorous styles and it eventually becomes a moment of reinvention for them. As an observer of the celebrity, I never know how I feel about it. On one hand, I always cheer for the more raw and rugged persona because it gives tradition the bird, but I also like a little bit of old Hollywood style, so I get the artist's urge. Ms. Eilish looks intriguing to me no matter the look.
It's nothing to do with 'reinvention' so much as it's simply an industry formula that has worked for decades. Everything we are presented with is meticulously calculated and thought out. That is also perhaps the ambivalence you feel towards it because it is not truly sincere. Your subconscious knows it's a pattern but the messaging is that it's some new, innovative reinvention. Not about hating on Billie at all but it's the reality of the industry.

When Billie first burst out into the music scene she wore oversized clothing to cover up her body. She felt that this way she could avoid getting negative comments about how she looked. Soon people started saying that she was hiding fat or that she was not even a woman. Geez. I'm so glad that now she feels confidant enough to allow herself to celebrate her femininity. Kudos to her!

I disagree. The colour doesn't look good on her at all. It's the opposite of show stopping - so it's the opposite of what she is aiming for. Any other colour would be better. Her hair and her make-up don't look good either. Old Hollywood Style could look really great on her... But the washed out colours she has chosen to date are not flattering.
@@FaerieElethia I was thinking that the eye makeup was misplaced too! Something about it, yes it was a bit smudgey and not so precise and pointed. I also think it was just a lil too heavy for the look overall. Plus the makeup didn't complement her striking eyes and make them pop, but rather made them look smaller in appearance.
It just felt very disjointed with how stunning the rest of her look was.
Can we just appreciate the designers, planners and the peoples who made the dress. Its so aesthetic. And im also very happy for Billie.

The fit on the cups (as mentioned below) was bad. A good corset maker would have had those underwires in the centre sit flat against her chest in her cleavage and it would have supported her better. The dress was beautiful, but she deserved a better fit. Disappointed that the designers failed in this regard.
@@katherineferrett6524 that depends on what you want something to fit like. I think these cups reminded me of the classic Marilyn photo of her leaning forward in a white tutu but make it Billie. It was punk-glam/ Old Hollywood and I was here for it. Each to their own.

When a celebrity does something that’s the bare minimum, people like the feeling of relatability. It makes the celebrity more human to them, so they latch on to it.
