This by far has been the most interesting "2021 Met Gala Get Ready" video. While I have enjoyed the other videos, this video had a bit more meat and substance to it. The story behind her dress and her seeing the Met Gala as a working joe, makes AOC's Met Gala dress that more impactful. I like the idea of bringing new voices and ideas to the table and I am sure that is why Anna Wintour invited her, on top of her just being a pop culture icon.

Regardless of the “hypocrisy” that people think took place here. She had a message to say and she said it. Her politics speak for itself. She works round the clock. She took one night off, to attend an event that gathered lots of attention to a statement that she firmly believes in. Plus no one knows the logistics of the event. Did she get a free ticket? Maybe. She also collaborated with women of color for the “expensive” services and materials etc. so even if she paid for an expensive dress it went to a well deserved fashion designer. Thanks AOC ❤️

The rest of us would not have access to the designer dress that she wore. She's gotten a raise since she's been in Congress already, now making $174k per year. My 2028, she will likely be a millionaire. How have the lives of her constituents improved? I know Amazon wanted to open a headquarters there, which would have brought many jobs to the area. She blocked that though, and the residents of Virginia are now benefiting instead.

On a superficial note, I think there could have had a couple more fittings. The dress itself was a little slouchy and ill-fitting in some areas.

Met gala tickets are around $30k, plus table fee $100k-200k shared between people at the table. That situation she made with her dress and the same time paying for those tickets, it doesn't feel right.
