- Idina Menzel is back...and she SINGS ๐ถ
Idina Menzel's powerful single, "Love Power" is available tonight. Witness "Love Power" in Disenchanted, an Original movie, streaming this Friday on Disney+.
It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isnโt the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasnโt been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her familyโs future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
โDisenchanted stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Gabriella Baldacchino, with Idina Menzel and James Marsden. Directed by Adam Shankman from a screenplay by Brigitte Hales and a story by J. David Stem & David N. Weiss and Richard LaGravenese, โDisenchantedโ is produced by Barry Josephson, Barry Sonnenfeld, and Amy Adams, with Jo Burn, Sunil Perkash, and Adam Shankman serving as executive producers. The movie features songs with music by 8-time Oscarยฎ-winning composer Alan Menken and lyrics by three-time Oscar-winning lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose work on โEnchantedโ garnered three Academy Awardยฎ nominations and a score by Alan Menken. - ์ํ/์ ๋๋ฉ์ด์
I could never understand why she didnโt get to sing in Enchanted. Now Iโm feeling so hyped.
Time constraints was the reason I believe
in an interview at the time she said she was happy that they didn't ask her to sing because it meant they cast her for her acting and not her voice lol but i'm so excited she's gonna have a song in this movie!!!!
I can understand why. Because then she wasn't a part of Andalasia. But now with Nancy being the Queen of Andalasia and Robert being Giselle's husbant, they have been "infected" with Andalasia's culture and so they now sing both.๐
exactly, singing wasn't part of the character on the first film. But now makes sense, and now I'm so glad, her voice it's one of the most powerful voices I've ever hear
Because she wasn't happy with the life she had. Now that she's found true love, nothing is going to stop her from singing her heart out โค๏ธ
Oh my God, I'm so relief that we are going to have Idina Menzel singing a solo this time. This sequel looks like it is going to be totally worth it. That soundtrack is going to slay, people.
I hope so because I wasnโt a fan of the new Hocus Pocus
It's a crime she never got to sing in the first movie. There weren't all that many songs, but it's still a waste of casting such a powerhouse
Yess, she slays all day everyday
Knock โLet it goโ ALL you want,BUT the voice of ELSA *never* fails!!! ๐๐๐๐๐๐
@@AdamAddictL That wasnโt my intention. The return of the Midler, Parker and Nijimy was barely enough
Yup. She HAS TO sing. I was very surprised when she didn't sing in Enchanted
Yeah I don't know why she didn't in Enchanted
Actually, Idina Menzel was glad that she wasnโt hired for her singing skills as usual on Enchanted and that for once itโs only for her acting skills.
Enchanted came out before Frozen, and I don't think Disney recognized her singing talent as being a huge money maker at the time.
@@andrewkful she was previously on broadway before that. I think it was intentional. She along with Dempsey not singing in the 1st movie was actually a great choice in my opinion. It made the movie less cartoonie.
IKR I was still surprised that she was in that movie when I saw it for the first time and when I saw her face for the first time she is really pretty. She didnโt sing in the og bcuz they wer probably saving it for Frozen
IDINA SINGING!!!! THATโS ALL THAT WE NEEDED
Yep. Alan Menken, music composer, is still the man.
I agree. Idiana didnโt sing in the first film until the sequel. Finally. ๐๐๐ป
@@TyBoneSkyberg82 she said she was happy that she didnโt sang in the first one cuz she knew that they wanted her for her acting and not only just cuz her voice so i think itโs okay receive this now (even for the character, shows that andalasia changed nancy)
@@harissonmagalhaes6864 Oh, I didnโt know that. Until now she was very singing. Sheโs very amazing in my opinion.
Idina's voice is just insane and she's an incredible actress. Love Idina so much good she's back
Iโve been a fan of Idina a while before Frozen. Thanks to the Wicked OBC and the original Wicked
@@manuelorozco7760 Yes
@@mariarinta-rahko958 I meant original Enchanted. I was so happy for Idina when I found out she was going to be Elsa. Nine years ago I was hyped for Frozen than any other animated film in 2013
@@manuelorozco7760 Same
@@mariarinta-rahko958 But sadly being a fan of her as Elsa hasnโt been smooth sailing for me these last few years. Just with how Disney made an over the top effort to capitalize Frozen after its Oscar wins left me paranoid, then Let It Go being on the radio temporarily and Into the Unknown didnโt motivate me enough to want to see Frozen 2.
First with Frozen 1 and 2 now with Disenchanted, Idina never gets tired of making us get the chills with the Disney songs she gets to perform ๐ญ๐ queen
I wasnโt crazy for Into the Unknown like I was with Let It Go though
@@manuelorozco7760 tbh i loved show yourself way better than let it go
@@uzumakinaruto2986 To each their own
@@manuelorozco7760 well ya of course, i meant story wise, i agree let it go is better singing wise, but for me show yourself when Elsa gets answers, her new appearance and the story to that is what i love, show yourself had me crying at the end, i was so happy for Elsa
@@uzumakinaruto2986 Fair enough
this was the third time she was a disney movie queen. tbh she even deserves a fourth
Idina literally belted Db5/C#5 on the end note for 12 seconds straight (her same signature note in the song Defying Gravity, but for 6 seconds, 3 consecutive times). (Personally...) For the record, this is her most impressive vocal, particularly belting, she has done on her film portrayals.
I think itโs 14 seconds ๐
@@andrewdunn7569 I just rounded it down since she started belting on a little late after 41-second mark (thus, started from 0:42) and ended a bit early before 55-second mark (thus, ended to 0:54). 12 seconds should be the safe count, it's still phenomenal.
It's 14 seconds
In the words of Giselle, โWICKED good.โ
To describe Idina.
Fellow Ozians, I LOVE IDINA MENZEL
Almost 20 years since Wicked and almost 10 years since Frozen and Idina's still got it!
So Idina is just going to be the voice of all the new epic Disney songs? Fantastic!
Sheโs overdue to do her own Disney album soon
@@manuelorozco7760 beyond overdue! So grateful this movie finally was made so she can shine without the cover of a cartoon!
@@LizzayMartini Partially you mean
Okay. I wasn't sold until you had Idina singing. NOW, I'm hyped!
I think I'm gonna like Nancy even better.
It IS Elsa, you know!
Hehe just like Elsa ๐
@@andrewkful You say it!๐คฉ๐
Imagine Elsa singing this.
@@YeseniaTheHedgehog yup!๐
She sounds better than she does in Frozen, and her vocals in Frozen are some of the best they've ever had. This is phenomenal.
I love how Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz were probably like, โSWEET WE GET TO WRITE A POWER BALLAD FOR IDINA MENZEL! Letโs push her to her range limits, and make her hold an insanely long note at the end, and make the next greatest Disney song. โบ๏ธโ
Idina: โBring it.โ
(Jeez LOUISE though this song is going to be on repeat forever and definitely one of my favorite Disney songs ever now)
From the composer of Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast and the lyricst of Pocahontas and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, their previous 90's teamwork is gonna be an mainstream success for this sequel.
They really are the perfect combination for an amazing song
And Stephen Schwartz did the songs from DreamWorks masterpiece "The Prince Of Egypt".
@@TheImaginator972 that too.
@@taajwarpope2708 I do loved both Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz together since I enjoyed their songs for both Pocahontas, Hunchback Of Notre Dame and Enchanted.
I noticed how when Morgan was in the 2D animation world, her dress transformation was the same style transformation as Cinderella (1950) when the fairy godmother put her in the blue dress from the pink torn up dress.
In Love Power, Indina Menzel sings the lyrics โLet it glowโ...reminded me of her song Let it Go from Frozen (2013).
Me too! It's the same effect. It reminded me Cinderella ๐๐
The only thing that Iโm excited about this movie is seeing the traditional 2D animation because itโs looks so beautiful.โค
Me too!!
Exactly!! I m dying, it s so beautiful, I can t get enough of it. I wish they would have made a full 2D animation instead of fragments. One of the most colorful beautiful animationsโค
@@deniss_art2755 apparently there is talk about wanting to go back to 2d animation, which is funny how enchanted was one of the last movies that had 2d animations before it basically died in the mainstream, and assuming they will continuing doing 2d stuff disenchanted ends up being one of the first few to go back to it it's kind of poetic that way
@@nightwish1453 this is amazing!!!
Most Disney artists, Glen Keane, Eric Goldberg, Mark Henn, Andreas Deja, James Baxter, and Bruce W. Smith had to retire, but some of them stuck around for other 2D projects.
This deserves an Oscar performance and best song award in the Academy for Idina Menzel. It was very powerful and emotional song made by Disney.
It's gonna be nominated, but winning? Not sure yet
0:40 She did it. She finally is defying gravity with the power of her voice.
Frozen fans will definitely watch this! Idina singing in the movie brings Elsa vibes so much!
Musical theatre kids will hear Elphaba
Disney and musical theater kids will hear both
@@ellierelyea8388 yep. When I hear wicked good I think of Elphaba and Glinda
Iโve been a fan of Idina a little while before Frozen. Partially thanks to the original Enchanted
@@manuelorozco7760 Did you see Wicked?
Idina Mezel is the queen of music and song ๐ต
She's played three queens.
I need this as a broadway musical now
Thereโs nothing like a DISNEY song. That note at the end with all that crescendo was god tier.
Iโm cryin, sheโs finally singing in a live-action Disney movie โคโคโค
That last note was 15 seconds! I got Wicked vibes with that one! ๐
Why is this not getting a theatrical release! It looks and sounds amazing!!!
Yeah, those movie DESERVES a theatrical bow!
and why should it be in theater
Itโs not getting a theatrical release because strange world releases next week
@@Shadowpuppets Strange world doesnt earn it it sounds so simple a world full of strange things I don't know this deserves more to be in the cinema
@@Shadowpuppets Strange World's kinda a weird phenomenon. It's being released in theaters, yet Disney's not really marketing it.
LITERALLY THE BEST SONG OF THE MOVIE WOW. AMAZING SEND IT TO THE OSCARS LIKE OH MY GOD HER VOICE IS A GIFT WE ALL GET TO HEAR OMG
This is what trailers should honestly look like. It doesn't tell you the whole story and exactly what happens, It just shows you what to expect in very little time in a very hyped way. Like I don't want to know anything about the story when going into a movie, but this doesn't tell me anything and I got really hyped.
I see they're making the most of Idina Menzel's voice this time lol. And rightfully so. She's wonderful.
The beginning gave me chills right before she starts singing
Literal chills
When your voice is that incredible and you've been a Disney Queen...twice...you deserve all of the standing ovations
I love that SHE was the fairy godmother ๐ญโจ
It took them until the sequel to have this epic powerhouse of a soundtrack.
The influence of this scene by the most recognizable things Disney has made by far just goes to show that Disenchanted is not only about what Andalasia or Monroeville holds but us, as the former youth now looking back at our youthful memories embrace this power that mold us as who we are today. It is conventional Disney but the fact that we are not that tiny kid watching on our television anymore but young adults facing our younger self is a reflection of how Disney has transformed, magically even, to touch us. Love power!
Idina held onto that last note like it was the last thing she was ever gonna do. We arenโt worthy of her. And how blessed are we to get new Alan Menken music? Bring it all on!
This is our Queen for ya. Her voice is everything. Love you, Idina. โค๏ธ
Queen Elsa for ya!! ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
Someone: how many times have you watched this.. ME: Yes

I would pay to see this in a theater.
Why is this going to Disney + instead of to theaters where it belongs? I got chills listening to Idinaโs amazing vocals and this would have been a shoe-in for โBest Songโ for sure. Iโve waited 15 years for a sequel, and the animation, choreography, costumes, and music are spectacular! Canโt wait!
It is not gonna be out in theaters due to the fact that strange world releases a week later
@@Shadowpuppets This is true. Between โWakanda Foreverโ, โStrange Worldโ, and โAvatar: The Way of Waterโ, November through December is packed for Disney. Still it certainly would have benefited from a theatrical release just to see hand drawn Disney animation back on the big screen.

Long overdue! Idina deserved to sing in the original! I just wish I could see this in movie theaters!
Love That Idina being popular now compare to Enchanted to singing a song for this film. Excited and hope this captures the magic of the original.
Idina was already popular but it was confined within the musical circles, not in mainstream (e.g. "Frozen")
Iโm cautiously excited myself
I saw the movie and I love how this song literally contains "let is grow" in the song, referencing Idina Menzel's Frozen role.
Wow I havenโt feel goosebumps since she sing โLet it Go!โ
Finished this movie just now, and It took me a while to realize idina voiced elsa. Can really hear elsa in how she sings. Still suprised about it on my end.
Hearing Idina Menzel sing is one of the few things that has got me hyped for this sequel.
Same here. I felt conflicted about wanting an Enchanted sequel for years. But one another reason Iโm hyped is for Morgan to find a potential love interest
Me, too. Adding that song to my playlist after it's released on Disney+.
OMG this feels just like Disneyยดs Reinassance again with Menkenยดs new songs
The stage version of Newsies is my favorite of his work

I cant stop watching this haha
At least Disney temporarily went back to traditional animation with this movie
It's a good comeback, which will bring 2D animation in a couple of years.
The closest things we had to comeback in the last few years were Ducktales, Rapunzelโs Tangled Adventure and Mary Poppins Returns
That stellar moment of IDINA MENZEL. The best part of the movie
I can't even describe the chills and emotions I get listening to this!!!! I'll say it til I'm blue in the face but Alan Menken is a legend and even if this movie sucks (which I pray it doesn't) his music will be incredible!!! The timer is set for tomorrow!!!!!

Omg this song is gonna blow up.
Finally Idina Menzel has her own singing moment in this sequel. In the first movie, I never knew she is a broadway actress back then. So I donโt have any idea that she could sing. Then Frozen became a huge hit in 2013 she is voiced and played the character of Elsa. I already recognized her because she is Nancy of Enchanted. I am so excited for this movie!
