- The magical teaser trailer for the all-new live-action musical comedy “Disenchanted,” which premiered at the D23 Expo 2022 in the Anaheim Convention Center moments ago, is here! The eagerly-anticipated sequel to “Enchanted,” which reunites original cast members Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden and also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays, is directed by Adam Shankman and features new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. “Disenchanted” begins streaming November 24, exclusively on Disney+…just in time to brighten up the holiday season.
It has been 15 years since Giselle (Amy Adams) and Robert (Patrick Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Maya Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.

I think the concept is genius! The fact that Giselle would wish for a fairytale life, however, the story warping her into a villain, because she's a step mother and step mothers in fairytales are evil is pretty good concept and the song used for the trailer is very enchanting!

You grasped all that in the trailer? I thought it was so confusing, I didn't understand that that's what was happening XD. But I am very excited!
My guess, and what it looks like, is that Giselle's wish is going to make people act like their achetypes, and since she's a step mother, she's going to get overtaken by random bouts of evilness to Morgan. Which I think would be kind of cool, of course.
Given Morgan didn't call her Giselle like a 21st century girl would address their stepparent yeah

Ok but this actually looks good. It looks like one of the first Disney sequels I’ve seen in a while that exists purely because they’ve thought of an interesting way to continue the story instead of just because of hype and money.

I think the thing that is going to make this movie great is the fact that they have the exact same cast. So many sequels have a completely different cast and it’s never the same. The nostalgia that this trailer gave me is insane. I’m so excited!
They actually have a different actress playing their daughter grown up, but she looks nearly identical. I thought it was the same person too.

@@Llewellyon I had to check imdb because they look so similar, but you're right. It's probably because the actress that played Morgan in Enchanted is 24 now, and it looks like she's supposed to be a teenager here. The resemblance is uncanny, well done to the casting director.

i love the tone where it goes from soft princess vibes when she said "i wish for fairytale life and its all gone terribly wrong" to powerfull evil villain "or terribly right" really quick, its just so mezmerizing that she can pull of both concept.

I was seven when the first movie came out and found the songs to be catchy. Now in my 20s it feels nice to reconnect to that fun musical side of my childhood once more. Hopefully i am not the only one who feels the nostalgia. Keep it up Disney 👍😊

I think the concept is excellent. The idea of someone as good natured as Giselle turning into the evil stepmother is ingenious. I suspect the heart of this film will revolve around the estrangement and reconnection between Giselle and her step daughter.

This is like a disney version of dissociative identity disorder. Something similar to when Regina one once upon a time splits her good half and bad half into two separate people, that was a major season 6 storyline. On a side note for once upon a time fans, lana parilla would be absolutely excellent in an enchanted film, because there could certainly be one or even two more sequels certainly with the film being on disney plus and lana parilla to me would be a great addition to this franchise.
I love that this film touches on Giselle and Robert after 10 years. It's clear Giselle has matured since then. But I will be having high expectations as the first movie was really good! I'm glad the main cast chose to come back for this more than 10 years later.

I have never been so excited for a sequel before, this is such a pleasant surprise! I was obsessed with Enchanted - watched it countless times and played the soundtrack on an infinite loop.
It looks like they've created a new storyline, instead of repeating the last one. A rare sequel that actually looks fun and interesting!

@@Elipson52008 He must have experienced many heartbreaks to have such a bitter attitude toward new attempts at experimental storylines. I don't blame him; in today's cinema, some new storylines can be hit or miss. Businesses frequently try to use already existing media and alter it slightly or continue it, which is risky and the usual method in sequels/remakes. I've been following the production process and the changes made after the beta test audience disapproved of some parts, so I'm curious about the changes they made and see how this turns out. They may have made changes to the story execution.

i really enjoyed the movie especially, the costumes, singing, acting, everything! Definitely deserved its five stars. Enchanted was always one of my favorite live action movies and this one blew me away. Very impressed with Amy Adams and all the other actors who made the movie very magical and enchanting for me to watch. I never got bored ONCE while watching the movie or expected it to be better. It was the most perfect sequel to Enchanted that I’ve been waiting months to see. It feels so nostalgic seeing Gisselle and her magical homeland later in the movie. It is definitely for Disney fans and people who love fairytales and magic. There isn’t a doubt that people who aren’t into these things will love it too! This movie deserves no less than five stars and I cannot wait to recommend it to all my friends and family!

Funny thing is, the sequel was greenlighted only 2-3 years after Enchanted came out. The only reason why it took 15 years was because it was in development hell (and no-one agreed on what the script should be about). I agree though. I'm glad things turned out the way they did

Disney won't make her an official princess. Unlike all the other princesses, Gisselle in the original film was given an animated look but also a live action look; Amy Adams. Amy Adam's is the official face of Giselle. Meaning they feel like nobody else can play her. Same thing for Ryan Reynolds Deadpool or Carrie fishers princess Leia. They feel like they can't have a random person portray her like the other princesses at any Disney world or Disney Park. They simply can't afford to change Gisselle or afford to have Amy Adams reside at the park everyday to maintain the character.
Tbh it would be super cool to have the character be introduced into the official lineup of the princesses. But sadly, unlike many other characters, Giselle will probably remain snubbed by Disney. Its honestly just as upsetting as when they chose to remove tinkerbell from the lineup simply because she wasn't human or didn't become human (AKA Ariel) lol

I’m getting sort of emotional because this was one of my favorite movies to watch with my mom as a kid and recently she’s gone through something and is now a completely different person and has lost herself, I hope I can at least bond with her over this movie to salvage what’s left of our relationship. If I end up watching this alone it will break my heart :(
This movie looks built with a kind of detail and care I haven’t seen from a Disney film in years. The costumes especially stand out, but there’s so many encouraging elements. I really hope it ends up being as good as the trailer implies.

This movie should be shown in theaters, where it could be very much more appreciated given the nature of the film itself. I would've loved to see it on the big screen. Hopefully Disney will reconsider opening a few dates in the US and everywhere else. Please! :D

I’m really excited for this movie, Enchanted is easily one of Disneys best, and the fact that we’re getting a sequel in just 2 months is insane. It’s fun seeing a cast return from the first movie. It’s also pretty clear that Maya Rudolph is the villain for this movie.
Unfortunately it's not the same actress playing Morgan. Her name is Gabriella Baldacchino.

Rachel Covey won't returning to this sequel. That's really sad because the four main lead casts are reprising their roles again (Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and James Marsden). But I'm glad that the new Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino) really resembles her and looks exactly like her. The casting director did a great job for choosing her to play Morgan. They could've easily pass as twins. Their resemblance is uncanny. It just that Rachel Covey has a natural curly hair and more chubby cheeks than Gabriella Baldocchino. I don't know why the casting director never got a chance and wasn't able to bring back Rachel Covey as Morgan. Well I've heard that Rachel is now pursuing her career as a playwright and composer. Which is very amazing for her, she got a long way. I think she doesn't like being in acting anymore. Because she has now her own career. Nevertheless, I am so excited for the sequel. It took 15 years to make it happen. Enchanted is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time.

It isn't the same actress playing morgana unfortunately but it is great that they got someone that looked like her so you can't tell the difference and yes Maya rudolph is the villian which is fun but did you notice that Amy adams is sort of the villian too?

@@truthseeker9249 The outer parts of the new pink house, and the village where they live was all filmed in Greystones and Enniskerry in County Wicklow. Other parts were filmed in Dundalk (Co. Louth) and Wesley College in Dundrum (Co. Dublin)! I really hope that they kept the scenes from Wesley, because it would be so cool to have my old school in a Disney movie! 😆

There’s so much to do as well; just don’t put all your hopes in Dublin. Definitely spend some time travelling around the other counties like Wexford, Clare, and Cork (especially the West of it). It’s absolutely stunning there during the warmer months!

Wanda and Giselle might be completely different people at first, but this concept definitely connects them both a bit. Plus, they're both fantastic and beautiful redheaded women who just wanted to live out their fantasy lives with their loved ones

I never thought I'd see a sequel for this movie. I thought Disney just tossed it down the pile. But I'm really glad it exists. We need more original ideas like this.

It's Crazy to think that it been almost 15 years since _Enchanted_ came out in Theaters and this film was my first introduction to Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel.
I'm Super excited to see the long awaited sequel, _Disenchanted,_ with Amy, Patrick, James and Idina reprising their original roles and although it's not going to be in theaters and especially on Digital and Blu-Ray, I'm still looking forward to seeing it on Disney+ this November.

@Ben Reder I don't blame you, but to be fair, I wasn't to familiar with Idina Menzel and her Broadway work including _Wicked_ up until years later after watching her appearance in _Enchanted_
Idena Menzel also voiced Elsa in the Frozen franchise and James Marsden played Thomas Michael Wachowski in the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

I agree but honestly Covid really messed up cinemas being a thing as stuff had to start being available at home in order to make any revenue so they just kinda stuck with it. I hate it though cause going to the movies is a whole different experience 😔

This is what we want Disney! I could care less about a remake that fails to understand what made the original great while trying to be it so badly, but taking an amazing film with a great set up for a sequel, and doing something interesting with it, that’s what we want to see! And seriously, the original Enchanted needs way more attention, it’s like the perfect bridge between classic and modern Disney.

Yes! The Lion King was terrible! It was my favorite movie and they did it such a disservice. So many others have been incredibly underwhelming too. It’s left me with such a sour taste for live action Disney I’ve just stopped seeing them.

Giselle becoming a wicked stepmother is EVERYTHING
I'm really excited to see Nancy and Edward together again! When I saw them end up together at the end of the first movie, I really liked the idea and I wanted to see where else their relationship was gonna go. How Nancy was going to do as queen. I wonder if the two have made occasional visits or if this is their first one since the last movie. Because if it is, I can imagine the things Nancy has been missing from our world. I'm sure when she talks about it, it will be when Giselle talks about things she misses from her original home.
And it looks like Edward is animated at some point too! I loved that Nancy got to jump in and be animated!

Nancy was super organized and extremely driven, and a perfectionist. I bet she’d be a great Queen - she’s probably got the literacy rate up, the roads paved, and the economy bustling.

The giddy and pure Gisselle becoming an Evil Stepmother/Queen, while the (now) dry-witted teenaged Morgan becoming the giddy and pure princess because of a wish gone wrong is such a fun idea for a sequel! With Gisselle even pushing Morgan into a magical well (like Narissa did to her)! It’s almost like a Fairytale Freaky Friday mixed with Cinderella! This is going to be so cool to watch.

You'd think that once people have recovered from the pandemic, things would turn back to normal and the movies would come back into business, but no, we still have movies coming from Disney+ instead of the quiet movie theater where you can truly escape reality in silence. I just can't stop watching this trailer. I watched Enchanted so much as a kid when it came out. And now I'm 24 seeing the sequel Disenchanted become a thing is just so...beautiful. And even better with ALL the actors/actresses, who ALL aged wonderfully. I can't wait.

Now im 23 and soo excited that disney finally a made a sequel after all these years. Also amy adams still look young and beautiful after all these years.

This is such a genuine surprise, I was expecting it to be on the same level as their other questionable live action but this one seems like it'll be an actually good and decent movie I sure hope the full story will be as exciting as what they're showing us in this trailer.

@@elsimbololander sorry if I make it sound like I've never watched the first movie but yes, I did and that's why I'm surprised that they're actually putting effort into a sequel because Disney's sequel rarely lived up to the hype that the former title had so I was worried that this one would be a flop but I'm glad that this looks promising and it deserved a decent comeback after 15 years, I was believing that nobody remembered it since if I'm not wrong, Giselle never had her place to stand up with the other Disney's princess which is a shame because she fit everything to be one.

I'm heavily nostalgic for the original film, it actually felt like Disney looked at the Shrek movies and decided to make fun of themselves. This movie seems like it'll go further in that direction. I'll always be invested when it blends the 2D fantasy world and the slightly magical live-action world. It's a unique concept.
I was going to scroll passed and caught sight of Amy in the thumbnail. Started tearing up as soon as I heard her sing. Enchanted was a huge part of my childhood. Still love that movie to this day. I'm so excited for this💕

It's been ages since Enchanted was first released. The fact that there's a confirmed follow-up is more than enough to keep our inner child thrilled to the maximum. Giselle and her minions will officially return, and that's the best thing to ever witness.

I loved the first movie for its creativity, its whimsical energy, the music, the perfect blend between the live action and animation, and the cast. I can't wait to see it, and it looks like there may be a clever twist on the classic evil stepmother trope in fairy tales with Giselle inadvertently filling the role. It's also reminding me of WandaVision a little, too! How ironic would it be if Elizabeth Olsen were to appear in this movie and she had to try to stop or undo Giselle's wish???

I’m always unsure about sequels so many years on, but wow this looks amazing! The colours and the intense crazy fantasy that I LOVE from Enchanted and yeah I’m so so excited for this now!
I hope Idina gets more to do than play the "un-fun failed love interest" like in the first one. They're giving her a big song and everything so I hope her character arc gets good!

Well she actually chose to be in the first one specifically because she wasn’t expected to sing, and her character wasn’t an “un-fun failed love interest”, they just weren’t right for each other
I thought the whole thing in the first film was that she wanted the fun and the romance but Patrick Dempsey was really un-fun? Hence she ran away with the Prince (having literally just met him😂)
She’s a much bigger star than she was when the first movie came out so I’d be surprised if she didn’t
I remember her trying to connect with the daughter, who preferred Gisele, and then Nancy realized at the party that he didn’t love her (the kiss following the dance revealed this to her). Disappointed, she was then impulsively taken away by Prince James Marsden, lol.
