Wow thanks glare, now I can go light up that 1 dark block in my base that keeps spawning god damn creepers and destroying my shit. This mob will be very useful for strategically lighting up your base in an efficient way.

Or since they can produce glow berries, it should be the source of their light so that it wouldn't be so op, because you need to wait for them to grow a glow berries or bone meal it to emit light. And if you want to harvest the glow berries you should use a shear, just like a sheep. Now you have a portable light source and a portable food source if you somehow get trapped in a cave or lost your way.

Or factories that you can find, maybe ones that produce redstone golems like in Minecraft dungeons!

Allay is no pet. Allay has no loyalty to anyone except for itself when it feels like dancing. It doesn’t bring anything back to you specifically. It brings items to the nearest noteblock which may be nowhere near you and anyone can get the items.

@@darbyboo3763 Yes, but if you stand next to a note block, give it an item and throw similar items away from you, it will fetch them and therefore drop them near you. It's still a form of fetch.

Personally I prefer the glare. The allay seems only useful for automatic redstone farms, I personally find its purpose for finding *dropped* items, and that too one of which you will have to give the allay, will be seldom useful in normal everyday situations. We don't know enough about the copper golem, so people probably won't vote for it much, although I guess it could potentially be useful. The glare however is much more effective way of knowing if the area is spawn-worthy as opposed to standing directly over the block and pressing F3 to know so. Even with the recent mob spawning changes, I would be too insecure to divine for myself if the block is spawn-worthy without pressing F3, unless I have smooth lighting turned off. Idk that's what I feel, I might be wrong.

@@darkscot1338 Not everybody's is interested in making such farms. For some it kinda breaks the immersion? Some kinda like the extra work without them? And I personally find the mechanic of picking dropped items in everyday scenarios a pretty niche purpose. You still need to provide the allay with the item you need to find. It is unclear as to how far the allay can actually go, if the range is small, it would be pretty redundant as you can pick it up yourself. It is also unclear if the allay drops items in only one spot, or scatters it around in the general area; if it is the latter, a lot more hoppers need to be built. Allay still has objectively the most use, but I'm a bit partial to glare cause I hate checking by F3 and standing on that exact block and I don't trust myself to check for dark spots without F3. Also there might be a chance that the light level changes only get implemented above ground, in which case the glare would be very useful.

@Six The automatic farming nature might still mess with the immersion for some players. Also, you'll need quite a lot of allays for sorting lots of seperate items, right? Which might be tedious to set up, and might cause fps dips.
Honestly I'm not against the mob, cause it's objectively the most useful, but I'm still leaning towards the glare cause that's what I'll personally find useful. Not saying it doesn't have it's drawbacks though.

@@picklechin2716 what?, no. Just two hoppers, a lever, a comparator, a redstone torch and a single redstone dust. In a line the order would be:
hopper(right) 》hopper(left) 》comparator(right) 》block 》redstone torch(on wall) 》redstone dust.
Just power the hopper that the comparator is placed against while seting up the time and unpower it to start the timer.
The benefit of this is that the time is configurable and exact, none of that random mess.

The allay can also be used for minng and item sorters.

The copper golems are an amazing addition for builders. Copper Buttons and Copper Statues would be great for detailing and the alive golems would make steamounk builds more alive.

Dude same. And since I don’t use redstone It wouldn’t be that useful for me. And with the addition of the sack things the “oops I need an extra inventory slot” thing doesn’t matter more either. And it doesn’t 100% replace hoppers either because the Allay doesn’t open chests or anything. And you need a note-block and music disc for it.

@Six Oh, I agree that the glare and golem are also useless. My issue is I don't want a mob whose purpose is "Redstone component." Some people will get great use from it, and others will get none. The glare and golem are a very little bit useful for everyone, while the Allay is very useful if you use it as a sorter block instead of as a mob, but not useful as the actual mob itself for people who aren't redstoners.

@@jaredcurry2739 I don't get how people are coming to the conclusion that the Allay would be useless to anyone but high-level redstoners. If anything, wouldn't it make redstone more accessible to people? I imagine people using it both in small-scale farms as well as high-level contraptions. I guess a lot still depends on the implementation details, but I see the Allay as the most useful to the most people.

the golem is functionally redundant and outclasses by a chicken and a pressure plate since that system doesnt break down over time.

Golem Randomizer is better than chicken
Well.... because chicken triggers every pressure plate on it's path.
It's only good for Maps tho.
Other than that, I found the Golem itself so useless maybe even more than the Glare.
The only thing I found good is the *Statue* and possibly different functioning *Copper Buttons*
(Like faster than normal buttons or something else)

Same here. I love this lil golem! Wattles forgot to mention that this golem is a tiny boi, not a normal sized golem. If he was a big one, I do believe they would have had it be bigger than Agnes and Jens in the trailer. So yes, tiny golem has my vote!

at least the alley is bringing new utility into the game, the copper golem is functionally redundant and players who want new redstone mechanics have much more to gain from the allay, but idk what to expect from the kids voting on these anymore, so far we got phantoms and glow squids. People dont even bother listening to the people who know the games mechanics, they all just follow the crowd or their favourite youtuber

I aint followin no youtuber, the thing with these is that their mechanics can already be achived(f3, hopper, randomizer) so it comes down to use, glare could be akward to bring with you, allay could be coded so that it is akward to use and a pain, and copper golem is probably the most sound choice mechanic wise, and 1.17 brought copper so it could be cool to get more use out of it, plus looks are a big part of this cause if it is ugly, no one would like it as much as if it were cute

while you're right, the glare could also serve the same purpose (only it would actually move and further immerse the player in the atmosphere of the build)

@@tvhead6153 the glare can locate caves and potential xp farms to make it significantly quicker to find a cave or resources. It can also be used in builds to add a lush or creepy flair. Allays and copper golems are completely useless, as they are easily replaced by other blocks in the game.

The problem I have with this argument is that if the copper golem is added, will anyone actually be excited to mine copper? Maybe you'll be excited to create your first golem, and the second or maybe the third. But after a while, people will start complaining about how useless copper is all over again. Plus, besides decoration, the main functionality of the copper golem can already be achieved with vanilla redstone. Its fine if you like it because its cute, but in its current state, I don't think this mob will magically make copper "useful."

I’ve even given up on replacing my spyglass the last time I ended up losing it. Building a copper guy to roll around till he stops seems like fun. To me it doesn’t even need to be useful.

I typically want my auto farms to work consistently, as opposed to randomly.....when the golem feels like it.

I'm not personally a fan of the copper golem for automation. There are already ways in the game to achieve random pulses and they don't require maintenence where as you'd have to de-oxidize your golem constantly. I personally would like them just to have little guys run around my base and bring life to it, but if I want random pulses like that, I'll just have an observer watch a cactus grow or something

None of those are cute robots who press buttons tho, thats the difference. I want the copper golem to press a button and watch as that causes a box full of villagers to burn alive, its cold mechanical eyes watching indifferently. It must be done.

Trap the killer robot in a cage until it oxidizes

Allay useful when throwing eye of ender and when mining or at night when you kill skeleton creeper it will go get it for you and shulker shells that falls into the sides or when you accidentally dropp an item in a village but you don't know where then the allay is useful for all these thing while glare is the useless one in 1.18 mobs spawns in 0 light only so you don't need a glare for that and the glare is not worth voting it will be good if they automatically add them allay♥️♥️♥️

@@GulibleKarma20 well we dont know that yet, and neither does the minecraft developers probably since it isnt official that the allay will make it into the game so i think already programming a mob that has a chance of not making it into the game is pointless unless they plan to still add it inthe future even if it doesnt win

copper golem is useless, you can have hopper clocks, dispenser randomized, and it does NOT harvest lighting that we know of @Rimu
