It's not an easy job, you have to drive slower then normal traffic and there's a lot of restrictions when it comes to Semi Trucks. Everything has to be in operating condition including the Air tanks, and Service brakes.

It’s fog for me, I’ve been caught in high winds plenty of times and if the wind was high enough that it started making me nervous I’d duck off into a rest area or parking lot or even a field and park my truck to where the wind was hitting the trailer doors. I figured if the wind was gonna throw shit at me it would go through the trailer doors rather than the cab where I was at plus it minimizes how much wind the truck caught.

A 17 mile bridge seemingly to nowhere, with super small lanes that you can barely even fit a normal car in let alone a truck, no shoulder on one side, windy as hell, basically a sweaty palm nightmare ride, especially with how many crazy/drunk/stupid drivers there are. It saves 2hr on your trip though

I was asked to pair drive over the bridge alongside a high sided van loaded machine parts. Even though the van carried three quarters of it's allowed weight this was not enough to hold it down. My being beside him cut the wind to half the height of his truck, but we both could feel the wind as we crossed and made it safely to the other side. yep. the bridge was built in the mid '60s and has virtually zero safety features. the flimsy barriers are a joke & there's no shoulder. trucks weighed a lot more back when the bridge was built but today they're so much lighter, they fly right off the bridge.

Keep building short weak guardrails and this will never end.The technology we have they can build rails tall enough to contain our trucks from flipping over there rails.Ive drove truck since 1985 and I've been blessed so far.So sad. Condolences to the family.

Rip to the trucker sad situation

  • @truthreignsforever9286

Those guard rails don’t look, at all, substantial enough to keep a truck in line? And are not! For trucks are able to breach them. And the question, herein, lies: “Who’s decision was it to design this bridge with those cheaper inadequate, insufficient guard rails?”
I think the individual mind or collective minds’ decision for these guard rails ought to be called into account? And stand trial? This “guard rail choice” decision to cut costs by an “inadequate barricade guard rail selection” culminated in loss of lives. Great job contracting engineers!!! Your choice of higher profit margins have cost lives due to your greed and avarice
