However, since I'm a soon to be unemployed teacher (after 40 years), we'll probably never know. However, I am sure that the creature next door gave me the bad neighbor award long ago. The whole situation is so amazing to me though because in my entire life I NEVER had an issue with any neighbor - including this one! After 15 years of friendly coexistence, too..... I never understood why people buy homes where they live right next to other people. I could never do that. I live by one rule: If you can't pee in your yard without a neighbor seeing you, then you live too close to other people

When Nichols bought the condo he knew that one side of his house would be in Ms Barns yard. Her yard was well manicured. There was nothing leaning against his house. IF he had a complaint he was supposed to go through the association board to seek a resolution. Instead he was a bully and tresspassed into her yard and sprayed poison. He further compounded his bullying by stealing her land. She should both sue him AND the association! She should have taken that video to the police and pressed charges. The man deserves some jail time!!!!!!!!!!

this has been resolved as of now but this condo association had no legal choice but to place the fence back to where it was before they moved it. they said so right in the video. nickels's(not sure if that is how he spells it) house was built right on the property line, that means that anything in between the two houses is on Barnes's property and he has no legal claim to it.

We have an acre, surrounded by dense forest, neighbors about 300 ft on either side. However, there was a sliver of land alongside of us, about 200 ft away we thought belonged to a pipeline company. Found out someone owned it. Why he didn't sell it to the pipeline was anyone's guess, except he thought he'd make a killing. Since it ran up a steep slope, it was on the market for about 7 years because no one could navigate it. Some "rouge" person bought it. Next thing we knew, he slapped down a chicken-wire fence right on our property line, looked like he was "surveying" from his laptop, as if staking his claim and land grabbing in the 1800's. We complained to the township, who investigated, said he didn't even have a permit. He ripped out the fence, hasn't rebuilt. I took a pic of our stakes, and if he rips them out, figuring "we can't see where the stake was because it's near the top of the hill" he'll have a problem, since it's illegal to remove stakes. If he rebuilds that fence, we'll have our property surveyed again. There's always one idiot who thinks they can do anything they want, and not be held accountable. If we decide to move from here, we'll make sure it's not near any empty lots where "suddenly" someone will decide to build. This guy can only build in an already designated spot, out of sight. that's the saving grace.

I moved to my own place July 2016. I was suprised last year when my neighbor tell me that my yard was not supposed to be this big. He said the previous owner told him that my yard ate his yard, he said about 10 feet of my yard is his and with the space he has he won't be able to build double garage. I asked him how long you stayed with the previous owner, he said 12 to 13 years. I ask him for 12 years he never knew about the unlawful taking of his yard, is just now the previous owner realise his mistake while the yard belongs to someone. He said I am woman i know nothing about yards and houses, he is going to break the wall and shift it were the previous owner told him. I told him to shift it without my concern he will know me well. I turned my back and go. I called my brother and explain to him what happened. My brother came with members from manucipality to make measurements and found out the records of my yard they have and the one the took are the same, i must not worry. They said if he break the wall i must report him they will deal will him. Guys its not nice to fight for yards. And having a bully male neighbour is not okay. Men take advantage of women especially when woman stays alone. I'm also a victim of that.

Survey, can you say that? My next door neighbor insisted the property line is 3 feet past the fence on my side. He was going to remove the fence and install a drive way. I had the property surveyed and it is right at the fence footing. He pulled up the survey markers and insisted the survey was wrong. I told him the civil engineering firm and the licensed surveyors would prevail in court. Fotunately, he died before it came to that.
My mom's property has an utility easement on it. The original owner put the fence to his side of the easement because he didn't want to deal with the utilities needing access. When my mom bought the place she didn't do anything about it because she got along with her neighbor. However, her neighbor died and the new owner of the property decided to fence in his yard...including my mom's part of the easement because he assumed it was his. My mom got a survey done, he fought saying it was wrong and wanted her (and the surveyors office) to give him a copy of her survey. She had to sue him in court to get him to move his fence off her property. I am NOT looking forward to that mess when it is time to sell her house. oye!
He died? Maybe there's hope for us yet. We're in exactly the same situation. And why is it ALWAYS 3 feet??? Have to admit though that I was astonished when our adversary next door claimed we had "influenced" i.e. BRIBED the surveyors. 😑

Yep! My neighborhood has one, always in everyone else's business, telling everyone how they should do things, complaining about how people take care of their pets, going in their yards (not so much now). I quit speaking to her about 5 years ago when she cursed at my daughter. Then I discovered she went to my neighbor a few years earlier to tell her that her 6 year old daughter shouldn't play with my 6 year old daughter. This neighbor had JUST moved in and we'd already become acquainted. I couldn't believe this other busybody neighbor would try to break up innocent children's friendship! Another time she went under cover of darkness, on purpose she said so I wouldn't see her, to the same neighbor's house while a friend was house sitting. Badmouthed me to the friend, who happened to be my friend too, and told her they shouldn't be letting my kids take care of the pets because they didn't know how to take care of animals (we had 3 indoor cats of our own). The neighbor promptly told busybody neighbor that she was housesitting, that my kids were asked to care for the pets while the homeowners were gone, and that she should get off their property immediately! I couldn't believe when I was told the next day about that. Why can't she stay on her side of the street and mind her own business? As I said, I don't speak to her and she's never spoken to me again after I had words with her about cursing at my daughter. I wouldn't mind waving or saying hi but at the same time, I've loved the peace I've had since cutting off communication.

That poor lady! I live next to a real stealthy bully who destroys and harrasses anything/anyone within reach on our property. She can't be reasoned with and her complaints and subsequent revenge attacks for not complying are ever changing. Finally figured out why: It's about power and control. If it isn't your yard and property, they would fight over something else. All in an effort to dominate something/someone. Mine is a Jekyll/Mr. Hyde type who only wreaks havoc where she can't be seen by other neighbors, then goes around and accuses you of doing what she does, playing victim. I've never encountered anyone so deliberately evil. I hope this sweet lady finds peace...I wish she was my neighbor!

I have one like that too. He's a sociopath. If it wasn't the propertyline, it would be something else he would focus on. It's about putting on a display, needing to feel dominant. It's not just us though. He's pushed people around on the street, stocked the neighbour lady, and had a lifetime history with the police. He's always having temper tantrums outside, throwing rocks and shouting vulgarities. We are just the people lucky enough for him to to move next door to! I normally don't wish people ill, but if he dropped dead I wouldn't miss him a bit. He focusses on us because we do not acquiese like he expects, even though we dont retaliate either.
Charges dismissed? Why? The Association got it wrong but developers need to stop this stupid shit of houses on property lines - how the hell are they supposed to maintain there home if they can't get to one side of it.

I've been in construction for 45 years I don't understand this. Everywhere I've ever done business has a setback rule. You can't build within a certain distance of the property line. She needs to hire a surveyor and get her property line established. If she's a condo owner the association has no authority to move her property line it's her property, they can move the lines of common areas but they can't touch the property line of a homeowner. PS. I was once the president of my condo association.

He said the previous owner told him that my yard ate his yard, he said about 10 feet of my yard is his and with the space he has he won't be able to build double garage. I asked him how long you stayed with the previous owner, he said 12 to 13 years. I ask him for 12 years he never knew about the unlawful taking of his yard, is just now the previous owner realise his mistake while the yard belongs to someone. He said I am woman i know nothing about yards and houses, he is going to break the wall and shift it were the previous owner told him. I told him to shift it without my concern he will know me well. I turned my back and go. I called my brother and explain to him what happened. My brother came with members from manucipality to make measurements and found out the records of my yard they have and the one the took are the same, i must not worry. They said if he break the wall i must report him they will deal will him. Guys its not nice to fight for yards. And having a bully male neighbour is not okay. Men take advantage of women especially when woman stays alone. I'm also a victim of that.

Survey, can you say that? My next door neighbor insisted the property line is 3 feet past the fence on my side. He was going to remove the fence and install a drive way. I had the property surveyed and it is right at the fence footing. He pulled up the survey markers and insisted the survey was wrong. I told him the civil engineering firm and the licensed surveyors would prevail in court. Fotunately, he died before it came to that.
Isn't it illegal to pull up survey stakes??
My mom's property has an utility easement on it. The original owner put the fence to his side of the easement because he didn't want to deal with the utilities needing access. When my mom bought the place she didn't do anything about it because she got along with her neighbor. However, her neighbor died and the new owner of the property decided to fence in his yard...including my mom's part of the easement because he assumed it was his. My mom got a survey done, he fought saying it was wrong and wanted her (and the surveyors office) to give him a copy of her survey. She had to sue him in court to get him to move his fence off her property. I am NOT looking forward to that mess when it is time to sell her house. oye!

Yep! My neighborhood has one, always in everyone else's business, telling everyone how they should do things, complaining about how people take care of their pets, going in their yards (not so much now). I quit speaking to her about 5 years ago when she cursed at my daughter. Then I discovered she went to my neighbor a few years earlier to tell her that her 6 year old daughter shouldn't play with my 6 year old daughter. This neighbor had JUST moved in and we'd already become acquainted. I couldn't believe this other busybody neighbor would try to break up innocent children's friendship! Another time she went under cover of darkness, on purpose she said so I wouldn't see her, to the same neighbor's house while a friend was house sitting. Badmouthed me to the friend, who happened to be my friend too, and told her they shouldn't be letting my kids take care of the pets because they didn't know how to take care of animals (we had 3 indoor cats of our own). The neighbor promptly told busybody neighbor that she was housesitting, that my kids were asked to care for the pets while the homeowners were gone, and that she should get off their property immediately! I couldn't believe when I was told the next day about that. Why can't she stay on her side of the street and mind her own business? As I said, I don't speak to her and she's never spoken to me again after I had words with her about cursing at my daughter. I wouldn't mind waving or saying hi but at the same time, I've loved the peace I've had since cutting off communication.

That poor lady! I live next to a real stealthy bully who destroys and harrasses anything/anyone within reach on our property. She can't be reasoned with and her complaints and subsequent revenge attacks for not complying are ever changing. Finally figured out why: It's about power and control. If it isn't your yard and property, they would fight over something else. All in an effort to dominate something/someone. Mine is a Jekyll/Mr. Hyde type who only wreaks havoc where she can't be seen by other neighbors, then goes around and accuses you of doing what she does, playing victim. I've never encountered anyone so deliberately evil. I hope this sweet lady finds peace...I wish she was my neighbor!

I have one like that too. He's a sociopath. If it wasn't the propertyline, it would be something else he would focus on. It's about putting on a display, needing to feel dominant. It's not just us though. He's pushed people around on the street, stocked the neighbour lady, and had a lifetime history with the police. He's always having temper tantrums outside, throwing rocks and shouting vulgarities. We are just the people lucky enough for him to to move next door to! I normally don't wish people ill, but if he dropped dead I wouldn't miss him a bit. He focusses on us because we do not acquiese like he expects, even though we dont retaliate either.

I've been in construction for 45 years I don't understand this. Everywhere I've ever done business has a setback rule. You can't build within a certain distance of the property line. She needs to hire a surveyor and get her property line established. If she's a condo owner the association has no authority to move her property line it's her property, they can move the lines of common areas but they can't touch the property line of a homeowner. PS. I was once the president of my condo association.
