Because he initially got attacked by the main kid he shot up. He didn’t cause the altercation, so he’s getting charged for what he did wrong. Being negligent with the firearm for hitting the girl, having the firearm underage, and having it at the school.

53 seconds into the video there are two people heading under the stairs shortly before everyone starts running and ducking. The guy he was aiming for attacked him from behind. He started shooting because the guy in the grey attacked him. It looks liked he pushed him towards a dead end, so he shot his way out until he could run. Apparently the other person was a teacher trying to break it up, the video jumps from him being attacked to everyone running.

This hurts my heart. This type of violence should never happen in school or anywhere for that matter. But I wasn't there and don't have all the facts. But no matter why this happened. It's scary. And so very dangerous. Maybe we as a society should be thinking about everyone doing classes on line just to be safe. Because the reality is we may send our children to school but with the way things are looking they may not return. And that's just awful.

I live near this school, we are changing grades next year where they all weigh the same amount, tho we never had a shooter we have around 2 fights a day to the point they are making flyers to come watch these 2 dumbos kick it off on the halls. If your walking to class or hear a fight happen you don’t get shocked anymore or question it because it’s so common in my school. Our principal even resigned to work somewhere else and he is the kindest person in the world. I’m glad we haven’t had a shooter and just fights, but still ppl have gotten injured and hospitalized because of these fights. But hey, what can ya do anymore ig

In both cases, the person shooting was attacked first. Hence, not murder. Murder and killing are two different things.

Yes, that's true. But they were fighting him in a hallway in a school with security cameras and teachers everywhere. All he had to do was wait 5 seconds for a teacher or bigger kid to break it up. But no, he wanted vengeance, so he brought the gun allllll the way to school, had it on him, and immediately started popping it off into bodies after being attacked. We dont know who provoked who, but if shooter had a gun, he probably instigated SOMETHING knowing he could 'get them' if they tried anything. He aimed and they ran away, could've stopped it right there, but he shot at them.

So wait, the kid who defended himself from two people who had over 40 reported counts of assaulting him and several other kids to the school as well as police, and was still getting beaten on seconds prior to the shooting, is some kind of sick monster the world needs to be rid of? The only tragedy is he didn't kill the kids bullying and beating on random people. The second those two kids chose to commit physical violent acts on a another human, they lost their right to live in civil society.

Yeah if you give kids long sentences for shootings that might prevent some kids from pulling guns on others because they know there will be a real punishment.

I don't think it should matter about who started the altercation. The bigger picture should be why he had a gun inside and on school grounds. Yes bullying is never okay and never will be, but it will always exist. And Kids getting into altercations and fights happens every day, especially in high school. That's just what it is. Trust me kids were getting an altercations and getting bullied at school 50 years ago, but they never retaliated with bringing a gun to school and murdering people. It's insane and cowardly. 🤷‍♀️Js. So that morning he knew what he was doing when he took that gun to school. When people shoot they usually shoot to kill. as a student i agree. it's not a safe place (altho nowhere is safe at this point) and we sure don't learn a single thing going there

@@moonlight_haze ​Yeah, I was in the same boat. My best advice to you is to get the skills and experience you need for your career before you graduate high school. College is pretty much worthless as well, and I'm a STEM grad (making more than most grads). It's not what it's hyped up to be. Taking the path that everyone takes isn't the wisest path. If I could start my life over from the age of 17, I wouldn't even think about going to college. I'd learn everything I would need to learn independently by my own research and independent study.

Because there is a extensive report detailing over 40 times the school was contacted about those two, do more research, these people were beating him and several other kids on the daily. Those kids got what they had coming to them, don't get me wrong his use of a firearm is absolutely unacceptable in this scenario with that kind of back drop, but thats exactly why he was charged with what he was. This was self defense. They're literally on video beating the shit out of him, the school did nothing and nor did police. They're lucky that they got around the corner otherwise this would of been ruled strictly stand your ground self defense and only gotten negligence and illegal possession of a fire arm on school grounds. By the way you're clearly ignorant, but the state doesn't require you to register your firearm, in fact most don't.
