I had the same thing happen to me a couple months ago, I was having an airsoft war with my friends (at my backyard) and all of a sudden paid security guards for the neighborhood club showed up and demanded us to hand over our guns, long story short it we went insane.
From what they explained and what I heard this is not the children's fault. Adults these days have not clue what airsoft guns even are! As someone who plays airsoft at a semi pro level, I want to inform everyone that from a distance of about more than 30 or 40 feet, these airsoft guns look very real. On the other hand the school should have nothing to do with this. You know, BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING TOY.
I could walk of my property (which is in the middle of nowhere)and on to the street with all my airsoft guns and be breaking the law, but no one would care.

In the town that I live and work in, the police dept. does not care one bit that you are out enjoying yourself with a game of airsoft. There is a strip of abandon train tracks that run down the center of our town and when we were down there one time, an officer approached us because they got a call reporting vandalism. He said as long as you are not defacing public property you can have games here. He actually insisted that we play there because if no one else is down there, some teens come and graffiti up the place. What Kahali, sorry if I butchered that spelling, did, from the current information I have at hand, was not wrong nor illegal. I am unfamiliar with Virginia State law regarding airsoft replicas, but where I live, in a more liberal state than VA, you can shoot these things all day on your property, or if you have an awesome PD on the abandon tracks, and if you want to bring the replicas across town, you do so in a safe and secure manner. The boy who ran with the replica down the street with the replica in hand was in the wrong. I can see why kids will chase kids and play around, but if He was holding the replica and chasing him at the same time as well as attempting to hide it, that tells me he had intent to use it otherwise why would he be chasing another kid with it? That's just my thought on it.

I was recently trespassing on some train tracks a few blocks away from my school. Two detectives saw my friends and I and decided to take our info down and school. They went to my school and informed them what happened and they tried suspending us. This situation did not happen on school property therefore it's not the schools problem. Just like the situation in the video above, the school got involved in something that did not happen in school and yet they still suspended them. That's just bullshit.

I have a pellet gun and it shoots COPPER bbs at 700 fps and it is a low powered one so those kids would be bleeding if they were using a pellet gun. That gun they showed him having SUCKS. I was going to buy it for my air soft wars with my friend but is completely plastic and dose not even shoot at 200 fps. People need to be less sensitive to kids playing with legal, reasonably safe, toys bearing legal toy markers (day glo orange tip). If they can't prove these kids were shooting other people not part of play on private property...they need to back off. The message these days seems to be..stay in your house, hide what you do, hide from everyone. Because everyone is out to get you if they dislike what they see, even if completely legal. Too often, perception is more important than reality.
Same policy needs to be uniformly enforced. If it turns out the principal or any employee of the school cheats on their spouse, cheats on their taxes, gets a speeding/parking ticket etc. etc. they should be terminated.

From what they explained and what I heard this is not the children's fault. Adults these days have not clue what airsoft guns even are! I think the adult in the car should be fined for calling 911 for no reason! If your having an airsoft war it involves moving around and chasing! I honestly think the school is exaggerating this because they don't know what children do these days. If love airsoft and if I'm suspended for PLAYING ON MY PROPERTY AND IN THE FREAKING STREET I think a lawsuit should be made. As someone who plays airsoft at a semi pro level, I want to inform everyone that from a distance of about more than 30 or 40 feet, these airsoft guns look very real. On the other hand the school should have nothing to do with this. You know, BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING TOY.

Try to reason with the bully. When they are calling you names and hitting you, say "I don't like it when you touch me, or call me inappropriate names or pants me in gym in front of everyone. In the town that I live and work in, the police dept. does not care one bit that you are out enjoying yourself with a game of airsoft. There is a strip of abandon train tracks that run down the center of our town and when we were down there one time, an officer approached us because they got a call reporting vandalism. He said as long as you are not defacing public property you can have games here. He actually insisted that we play there because if no one else is down there, some teens come and graffiti up the place.
What Kahali, sorry if I butchered that spelling, did, from the current information I have at hand, was not wrong nor illegal. I am unfamiliar with Virginia State law regarding airsoft replicas, but where I live, in a more liberal state than VA, you can shoot these things all day on your property, or if you have an awesome PD on the abandon tracks, and if you want to bring the replicas across town, you do so in a safe and secure manner. The boy who ran with the replica down the street with the replica in hand was in the wrong. I can see why kids will chase kids and play around, but if He was holding the replica and chasing him at the same time as well as attempting to hide it, that tells me he had intent to use it otherwise why would he be chasing another kid with it? That's just my thought on it.

I was recently trespassing on some train tracks a few blocks away from my school. Two detectives saw my friends and I and decided to take our info down and school. They went to my school and informed them what happened and they tried suspending us. This situation did not happen on school property therefore it's not the schools problem. Just like the situation in the video above, the school got involved in something that did not happen in school and yet they still suspended them. That's just bullshit.

So once we got called to the office I was suspended for "" fighting"", even though I walked off, what the hell all I have to say!

I have a pellet gun and it shoots COPPER bbs at 700 fps and it is a low powered one so those kids would be bleeding if they were using a pellet gun. That gun they showed him having SUCKS. I was going to buy it for my air soft wars with my friend but is completely plastic and dose not even shoot at 200 fps. I had on that shoot at 200 fps and at point blank my 8 year old brother did not think it hurt. GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE ..........................................AND AMMO

well the legal age of purchase is 18 so its obvious there parents bought it for them and didnt instruct them on how to use it or how not to use it. and I completely agree with you on your second point, this is how they try and ban this amazing sport.

People need to be less sensitive to kids playing with legal, reasonably safe, toys bearing legal toy markers (day glo orange tip). If they can't prove these kids were shooting other people not part of play on private property...they need to back off. The message these days seems to be..stay in your house, hide what you do, hide from everyone. Because everyone is out to get you if they dislike what they see, even if completely legal. Too often, perception is more important than reality.

Same policy needs to be uniformly enforced. If it turns out the principal or any employee of the school cheats on their spouse, cheats on their taxes, gets a speeding/parking ticket etc. etc. they should be terminated.

if they had video evidence of the kids shooting others near the bus stop during school hours then i could understand the suspension of the kids but clearly it wasnt during school hours so clearly the school had no right stepping in and getting involved in the first place. i play airsoft and even with the toy gun the kids was holding in hand in this vid only shoots at maybe 380 fps at most with the best spring in it. which might leave a mark like a misquito bite or ant bite thats all, more so the guns have orange tips so the person calling 911 shouldve taken time to look first before calling in fear and ruining the fun for others like so many other ppl in america has done already. you ppl are letting the bs th government and stuff get to you and letting them control you with there lies and crap aimed at taking our freedoms away and our rights to live a fun life. personally i would sue the school board for there actions of allowing the students to be suspended when the school clearly had no right getting involved. its that simple ppl.
