When I taught art at elementary schools as a visiting teaching artist I had words with two grown women ("teachers") who were making fun of a little boy who chose pink paper to make his book binding project. They called him a sissy and other kids chimed in. I let them have it! I told them they were teaching these children to discriminate and they should be leading by setting a good example. I told the young man he had every right to choose pink if that's the color he liked and they were wrong to tease him. The ignorance amongst staff that's allowed in these schools is unacceptable!
Thank you for your compassion and decency. Hopefully you gave those two idiots a wake-up call... I'm sure that little man will remember the kind teacher who told him he was free to be himself and that anyone who teased him for it was wrong. Thank you for not picking the "easy option" of staying quiet &, instead, righting the wrong that you witnessed. This world would be a much kinder place if others followed your lead 💕

And boys don't get that masculinity unless they get it from home but most come from single mother households. So they did a favor for those boyz. God bless them!! I’m currently working at a state funded school that has evaluators trooping through every week or so, with an absolutely fantastic team, and it’s such an honor to serve the hardest working parents in our community. They give us flowers on Mother’s Day because ( they say) we help them mother their kids. But I’ve worked at some schools where the teachers were so damned burnt out and belligerent that I would have happily shoved THEM in a closet, and gotten the kids to help me barricade the door. I’m very sorry you got one of the bad ones.
Katie White my boy has a speech delay but has never had a learning impairment.... He's been with the right therapist and he's doing much better with his pronunciations!!!! Turns out he's just so excited to get it out if his head he's not moving his tongue and mouth correctly... But we're working on it!!!!! Poor kid...shameful women

I'm super glad I'm watching my grandson !! I really don't have trust in anyone else. I was a stay at home mom because of a terrible day care experience. I got out of work 2 hours early, showed up at " day care" and had to call the police. Workers left a 14 year old in charge of at least 20 kiddos. My infant son was 1 of many infants and my toddler was 1 of many toddlers. All in just diapers, sink and counter and table piled with dishes and bottles. I grabbed my children and left. The owner tried to say it was easier to let them run around without clothes. I have no clue whatever happened to that place or woman.
My brother had speech problems growing up. He’s a nurse now..he was a paramedic/firemen but went back to school. We don’t need ppl like this around kids, getting paid to be horrible.
My son still has speech problems at 6 years old, probably speaks like a 4 year old. But he’s doing multiplication, division and 3 digit addition in his head. I’m telling you he multiplies by 9 no paper needed. I can’t even do that. Being verbal is proof of nothing.
My brother did, too. He didn't speak at all until age 5, couldn't pronounce "r's" until age 9, speech therapy until middle school. Now he is 18, and studying biochemistry at the University Of Washington 🤷

Not defending her because I don’t know her. But the news twists everything you say. If you want to apologize, say it to the parents. Not media. Media lies. And those people who did that should be in jail for more than ten years with no parole, and should not be allowed to be in areas where children are present including their own. That is a very serious crime that has affected those children permanently.

That’s none of the reporters business tbh. This is an issue involving her, those workers, and the parents/children involved. Just because the reporter showed up at the front door eager to get answers doesn’t mean she has to answer their questions out of their own curiosity. This could be legal matter that she can’t discuss who knows.
Nobody needs to answer questions so that the public can twist it around. Plus lawyers usually tell people not to speak to the press. She said that was all she could say, so there we go.

I had a 1st grade teacher who was a bully. She was forcibly retired after taking a picture a child in the time out chair and putting it on the classroom wall with the caption "Don't be like this student." The kids were never happier.
My mother was telling me about the sister of a family friend, talking about how evil she's always been. She once paid a student to beat up another student. She was fired and lost her teaching certification.
His job is to ask the questions thats what he gets paid for he needed more information from her such as if they have cameras or does she do background checks...
My son is 2 and still isn't talking, but that's okay. It doesn't mean he won't be talking my leg of in a couple years. Speech delay means nothing, they just do it in their own time. If someone did this to my son I would be so heart broken. This says so much about that person's heart.

I work at a daycare and I know for a fact that neither me nor my co-workers would ever do something like that. The only pictures we take of the kids at our daycare are for the newsletter we do for the parents and we have signed permission from the parents for those pictures. It's NEVER okay for anyone to post pictures of someone else's child on the internet without their knowledge/permission, much less to post pictures making fun of an innocent child! Any person with a shred of decency and common sense should know that.

So using phones at a daycare isnt that uncommon as it allows us to keep in touch with parents to let them know how their child is doing. Typically, for safety reasons, we delete the photos after theyre sent out to the parents
I don’t have kids. That said NEVER leave your children unattended without video recording 24/7 with anybody including friends & family. Most child abuse caes are from friends and family. You can never know what dark thoughts are in a persons mind. All predators can seem like a nice person on the outside.
Don’t think a background check would tell you if these people have bad personalities. References aren’t that reliable for something like this either, they usually lie anyway. Also, I’m pretty sure they’re thorough in these hiring process, like you need certain clearance to work with children. It’s just something they probably couldn’t predict but now that they’re caught they won’t be in this kind of work again

This hits home. My son is 2 and a half and also hasn’t started speaking yet. I was torn to putting him in daycare for a few hours so he can get play time with other children because I’m scared they will mistreat him. It can get frustrating when you can’t communicate and if you don’t have patience and compassion then you shouldn’t be working with kids 😡😡😡
My eldest son started speaking in full sentence at around 3 plus. And my nephew started conversing when he was 4 plus. Once they started, they are chatterboxes 😬 Don’t worry, just keep encouraging him. Before you know it, he’ll excel with his words

I'm sure they have one. It's a standard clause for all daycares. These (now fired) employees took jobs to bully the vulnerable and were enjoying themselves. This is so true. I was pressured by in laws to my older son in daycare. My baby was not happy. I started doing pop up visits. The daycare center was to dark..lights out all the time. The owner than offered me a job based off of knowing my in laws. I took my baby out of that daycare and turned down the job. I’m now a proud sahm.

As workers there they would know that even with delayed speech that kid's receptive language is probably well developed for his age and he understands a hell of a lot more than he can say. As a registered early childhood educator I can say not all of us who work in the field are like this. This is disgusting and I cannot believe the workers even had an opportunity to do this. All thr pictures we take of the kids are for documentation purposes as well as sharing them with their families online through seesaw to show them what their child is doing through out the day. People like this are what give the rest of us bad names.
I was a mute child. To the point doctors claim I may have been autistic. But one day when I was 4 years old, I started talking out of nowhere in complete sentences using advanced words for my age. I always grew up being in gifted programs and was even offered to skip a grade. Some of the smartest kids just take time to collect information instead of using it right then and there. He may be the same way.

There should be RULES when caring for someone else's children. ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURES/VIDEOS should be taken of children unless given permission. When my son was little, the headstart program was putting out a newsletter with pictures taken would be published. BEFORE any pictures were taken, I was given a letter to sign if I was okay with them to even photograph my son. Even though this incident was different that there were idiots photographing the children, rules still apply, like NO CELL PHONE USE WHILE CARING FOR CHILDREN. Emergencies happen, and if you need to step out, then someone needs to take over til the problem is resolved. Privacy is violated when you photograph/video someone else's child and post it to social media for laughs. Smh

I remember witnessing to a teacher that was chastising a child for his mom not having money for his field trip! I told her what is wrong with you ? You need to be a shame of yourself! To make a long story short I paid for his trip! She later called me that evening and apologized! I told her don't apologize to me, apologize to the young man and his mother! The audacity to criticize a child! I am a Grandmother of a child with autism,and I wish, an adult would! I am to cuss someone the hell out! I work at a daycare and I know for a fact that neither me nor my co-workers would ever do something like that. The only pictures we take of the kids at our daycare are for the newsletter we do for the parents and we have signed permission from the parents for those pictures. It's NEVER okay for anyone to post pictures of someone else's child on the internet without their knowledge/permission, much less to post pictures making fun of an innocent child! Any person with a shred of decency and common sense should know that.

So using phones at a daycare isnt that uncommon as it allows us to keep in touch with parents to let them know how their child is doing. This hits home. My son is 2 and a half and also hasn’t started speaking yet. I was torn to putting him in daycare for a few hours so he can get play time with other children because I’m scared they will mistreat him. This is so true. I was pressured by in laws to my older son in daycare. My baby was not happy. I started doing pop up visits. The daycare center was to dark..lights out all the time. The owner than offered me a job based off of knowing my in laws. I took my baby out of that daycare and turned down the job. I’m now a proud sahm.

I was a mute child. To the point doctors claim I may have been autistic. But one day when I was 4 years old, I started talking out of nowhere in complete sentences using advanced words for my age. There should be RULES when caring for someone else's children. ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURES/VIDEOS should be taken of children unless given permission. When my son was little, the headstart program was putting out a newsletter with pictures taken would be published. BEFORE any pictures were taken, I was given a letter to sign if I was okay with them to even photograph my son. Even though this incident was different that there were idiots photographing the children, rules still apply, like NO CELL PHONE USE WHILE CARING FOR CHILDREN. Emergencies happen, and if you need to step out, then someone needs to take over til the problem is resolved. Privacy is violated when you photograph/video someone else's child and post it to social media for laughs. Smh

Those rules do exist. But if you ask me, that sorry excuse for an owner allowed this to happen because she's no better than her workers. Every bit of her attitude and body language said that. What she didn't say, made that even clearer.

I remember witnessing to a teacher that was chastising a child for his mom not having money for his field trip! I told her what is wrong with you ? You need to be a shame of yourself! To make a long story short I paid for his trip! She later called me that evening and apologized! I told her don't apologize to me, apologize to the young man and his mother! The audacity to criticize a child! I am a Grandmother of a child with autism,and I wish, an adult would! I am to cuss someone the hell out! Cause Granny don't play the babies period 🤨 whether they are mines or someone else's 🤨😔👌🏾
