He ain’t lying about listening. We mostly listen to respond.. instead of listening to understanding

Speaking to Will's analogy: someone once said if a flower fails to bloom, the gardener does not look to change the flower, he changes its environment.

To me, the most important element of love is 'safety'. Safety from harm. Safety from lies. Safety from infidelity. Safety from humiliation. For until we feel safe with someone, we cannot be free to love with all our heart and soul.

The part he said about not being capable of making someone happy is soooooo true.

Someone said. “Don’t fall in love.” Rise in love.”

Losing that "get" mentality is gold. Love has no expectations. Most relationships have issues with devotion not love.

The sad reality is that a lot of us are single because the concept of love that is being sold to us in films, books and even social media is just not real life. we all have these unrealistic expectations of a significant other and aren't even ready to invest ourselves in the relationships we have. As soon as we get uncomfortable, we walk away forgetting that no one is perfect ourselves included. So if you find someone you really like being with that is ready to be there for you through the thick and thin of things then that's all you really need. Every order thing is just a bunch of fallacies. So let's just stop hurting ourselves by going after people we know we can never have that will only treat us like dirt but instead start truly recognizing the real thing when they come into our lives...

Love is a deep desire. Love is showing you really care for someone. In love is sharing, and listening to each other. Love is action that runs so deep. thank you.

So genuinely happy and also proud of the fact of seeing Indian philosopher and writer "Jiddu Krishnamurti" in this video. I have not started to read about him in detail but seeing you referring his one of the teachings related to the concept of "love"... I'm definitely going to read about him as soon as I can.

Wow, the "Gardener and Flower" is a great way to explain love.

When we think of love, we often first think of transactional love that fit our needs to be happy. But in fact real love is more like giving without expecting anything in return, and wanting the best for both.

I watch this every year of my life since I've seen this . It's like a reminder on HOW we need and want to be loved. This video is something I've sent to many friends, lovers, Family members as to what love and listening is to m me.

What is Love? The best answer I have ever heard was the one from the Holy Bible.

I was constantly smiling. This has genuinely validated my actions. Although I shouldn’t need validation. But thankyou Will. All my life I have helped the ones who hurt me and didn’t hurt me. Despite of their actions I have never mistreated or treated them any less than any other person. I have always treated everyone with kindness. Some people easily manipulate me into getting what they need from me but who cares. That is their actions. I remember countless nights going to sleep while telling myself how different I was and I didn’t needed to change myself in order to prevent from getting manipulated and hurt. Because if I were to be anything other than the Giver and Helper and Guide that I am to every unit of people in my life God would have made me so. This video has uplifted me in ways nobody can see. I have said this to so many people but all I got was how they found me a little too much. I loved a little too much for them to handle. Love is giving. Love is kindness. Love is sharing. I have never commented on KRplus. But Kudos to Will. Kudos.

Everyone wants to be heard, but everybody can't talk at the same time. It's easier for me to consider my own experiences- where people havent listened to me because of my packaging -as a young black woman when luving people + all I want to give them is my attention. I want them to feel seen because I remember what it felt like not be heard, to be looked over. What I'm trying to say is I think that of we as a whole listened to people + gave them the kind of understanding like he said + validation that we would want I think there would be less misunderstanding regardless of the different labels + packaging we possess-the kinds that automatically create communication barriers. Then, it becomes simple to luv because you're mirroring how'd you want someone to luv you. I find it very draining at times to try to luv people when I'm not full,s so it's very necessary to take personal time for filling your cup because you want to «leave people feeling better than when you met them».

I think one of the greatest things I've learned about love is that love is unselfish. You don't get anything out of love. Like Will said, love isn't an exchange. It's an undeserved gift. Love is someone slapping you in the face and you giving that person a hug. It goes beyond fairness and beyond justice but we're afraid of that kind of love because it often gives birth to abuse. It gives birth to hurt and continuous forgiveness. So we settle. We settle for desire and pleasure. We settle for the exchange because there's only so many times you can allow someone to slap you in the face.
but the beauty of love is that one day when it's you who's fed up. When it's you who chooses to slap someone in the face and that person reaches out their arms and hugs you. You'll suddenly realise there's someone else out there who's just as willing to love. Just as willing to make that sacrifice. Just as willing to compromise, to listen, to understand and when you find that person then real love becomes worth it because it will never get to the point of abuse and so FEAR is removed.

Happiness is within yourself.. You're either happy with yourself and life or you aren't,and no one can change that... You have to be happy and content with yourself and who you are before you can accept someone into your life who expands that happiness... Don't sell yourself cheap or short for someone who brings you down,adds negative drama or interrupts your happiness...Me,circa 2021.. 😁

The concept of listening, understanding and validating have been very helpful in my every day life.

The paradigm for is gardener flower. The relationship a gardener has with a flower. The gardener wants the flower to be What it's DESIGNED to be. NOT What the gardener want it to be. What a deep revelation!!!!

This made me break down completely. I've been in love with my best friend from high school almost ever since we met. He had a tough upbringing but he's such a talented individual. I've always been here (8 years) to help him with his struggles, and help him become the man that God meant for him to be. The gardener also needs to be sure he/she loves themself while loving the flower. If not, the gardener will be looking to the flower for that love and will sometimes be disappointed to the point of heartache.
