Now obviously not all portions of a meal have the same calorie density of each other, but you can see the practicality behind that line of thought. Well, as practical as electrified utensils can be anyways.

With 6 cheeseburgers you’re getting three times the number of sugar-filled burger buns, making the total number of calories higher than compared to three double cheeseburgers

This device needs a few small improvements.
1. A larger surface to set the plate on, so you don't have to balance it on top of a tuna can.
2. A timer before shocking you, so you can pick up your burger and take a bite or two before setting it back down and resetting the timer. It would still shock you when the weight gets too low, but not instantly so you can actually eat.

As silly as this may sound this could actually significantly help with a food addiction, addictions are caused by dopamine being released, from drugs, caffeine etc... so now when you go to eat food your body will associate that not with getting that nice dopamine boost but instead that shock, which could help over time
