So there I was, clicking on the new Wolfey video, when I heard Wolfey say that he had had no time to make an intro for this video. It was then that I knew what I had to do. "Wolfey has always been there with great intros for me," I said to myself, "now it's my turn to be there for him." So I scrolled down, and typed this comment.

I had never seen Palossand dynamax before and I have to say that the way that mush slowly rises into a sand mountain is extremely badass.

Pallosand is extremely hard to remove without constant offensive pressure, I'm glad you finally showed the sand castle's potential!

I’m so sad as soon as Palossand was shown in the DLC I tried thinking of this but it completely slipped my mind that Accelgor got Water Shuriken. I was just hoping Greninja would be added into the next DLC so I could do this. Oh well, the smarter minds beat me to it

I actually just got a shiny sandygast and evolved into palossand and was wondering how well water compaction and weakness policy would work. I don’t know much about competitive so I had no clue how to try and make this team work with trick room and activating the castle. So thank you for showing me how to use this idea cause I forgot water shrunken was a thing and it maxes out water compaction.

I love Palosand, so seeing the big sand castle being viable in gen 8 VGC is a pleasant surprise.

Thank you for uploading your battles. It reignited my love for pokemon. To be honest I was going to skip this generation due to the dex issue but watching your battles just made me want to play doubles. I only used to play singles.
Now to grind through the story and start breeding.

I've seen this a lot and I just double into the Palossand first turn with quick pokemon. It doesn't work everytime but this is such a strong setup that I'm willing to bet my entire game on the double up if I have to.

I think something that could help people like me and just people sorta new to vgc is if you had a series where you looked at peoples teams and tried to make them better and played with them and explained what you changed. Palossand's theme is amazing. It has a great shiny, not just because black is cool but it references the black Sands of Hawaii. It also gets Shore up and scorching sands, it's hilarious. It's goofy but it's a very unique Pokemon, and I've been swept by it.

11:06 Thats a very good mechanic. It makes sense because earthquakes and earth damage are more extreme in areas with low soil nutrients because the nutrients compact the soil.

So, i recently used a Pallosand + Calyrex (Ghost) build, Talonflame for it's garunteed Tailwind start, Wailord, and either Corviknight, or Blissy (who had like 600 hp dynamaxed, this thing was a tank in hp and defense stats for like no reason.)
This build took down a speed based Charizard, Rillaboom, and Lucario team (I forget his 4th pokemon..) and Regileki, Incen, Rillaboom, Calyrex (Ice), Urshifu, and I'll be honest he never used his 6th so i don't remember it, but.. wow was this a fun run as well. He was using optimal builds for that team as well, straight up looked it up, watched your videos constantly for tips and builds, and honestly had a very good team.
But like, Sand wiped him due to 6 defense ups, and guaranteed Tailwind, Wailord had Brine and Water spout, as well as Rest, and it was some move that increased his sp atk and defense by 2. Completley destroyed his incen, as it gave a garanteed Pallosand, Calyrex's ghost barrage just did amazing group damage, and there's always the start of Calyrex and Pallo. Which one am i gonna Dynamax?

Hey Wolfey, new guy here! So I was online and someone tried using this exact strat against me. It failed horribly because my miltank got the hax freeze from ice punch on the Pallosand and stayed frozen long enough for my Dracovish to finish him off
Judging from the fact that he disconnected he was probably pretty pissed lol!

This is a "protect the castle" strategy but the castle protects you.

I think the main threats for your team are Clear smog amoonguss or torkoal. Unless you switch into a support like indeedee with follow me/ally switch, clear smog pokemon are a major threat. To go along with that, the move ignores taunt unlike the moves haze or even psych up. I really reckon using indeedee more with this strat as it has access to psych up and ally switch.

I was using a similar team from this one from foo and I was up against hat plus indeedee and figured out the hard way that water shuriken has priority
edit: I know psychic terrain doesn’t block priority moves if you attack your own pokemon, the indeedee used follow me

I've seen the water shuriken strat on showdown and shut it down immideatly with venasaur
