What a great interviewer! She actually lets the person speak without interrupting them ... and the conversation flows naturally, without awkward transitions & referring to questions on notecards. It's perfect because the audience focuses on the guest and what they are saying, instead of the interviewer constantly calling attention to themselves. Great job!

This is such a good interview! She is listening with the intention of understanding, not just listening to form a response. Hardly anyone really does that :(

It was interesting when she talked about how she couldn’t block out the pain anymore and she knew if was time to retire. The mind is so powerful

As a Gen X'er, it's so nice to hear a Millennial speak without saying 'like' every other word. As a 'retired' USA national team member gymnast, I'm grateful that Shawn can so eloquently describe what it's like to be a prodigy in one of the most relentlessly demanding (and rewarding) sports in the world. This interview wasn't what I expected. It just kind of healed me....I thought I was a coward for leaving softball after picturing injury made me start to hesitate. I didnt know this was a real thing that happened, but it makes so much sense.

She is such a wonderful role model for all of us.

When you get older and bigger, a fall off the beam or bars is a lot more dangerous(higher risk of injury) Also, adults don't heal as fast as kids. I'm so impressed that Oksana Chusovitina is still competing at 43 years old.

Wow, Lisa you have such compassion and empathy when you interview. This was so great. I suffer with body image as well and Shawn really shared so much of herself, her battles, triumphs and finding her place in this world. It gave me some peace and allowed me to finally accept that I am enough.

Beautiful interview. I’m a former gymnast who had to retire after being an elite gymnast and just coming up short of the Olympics due to injuries. I’m still overcoming it all and this video was something positive to look back on. Thank you.

I have been watching there videos recently and really love their chemistry and honesty. I too went through miscarriage and seeing how they too felt how we felt on our first pregnancy helped. I am excited for their baby to come and I hope I am able to celebrate the same soon.

I love how down to earth Shawn is, she’s still got that low key, Midwest spirit in her. Like she has always been so relatable.
Sometimes you hear a celebrity you admire get a long form interview and you feel like they forget what it’s like to be a regular person, so then the advice they give to regular people doesn’t cross over but Shawn is on fire 👌🏼

It's been a long process of grieving, redefining and finding my way back to myself after becoming a full-time caregiver to my special needs son. No one expects becoming a mother can be some thing you have to work through. Guilt, depression, self-pity etc. I've come around now. I'm happier about my situation in life. I grew up with the notion that accomplishments that society puts value on are everything. I had to redirect my values to it's ok to be the best mom I can today, it's ok to just be a kind person and not the work alcoholic I used to be.

I love how she speaks so well while being interviewed. Showing all her talents and experience. But when she is on her channel The East Fam. She is so down to earth, funny and somone who you would love to hang out with and have the greatest time! ❤😊

So I am totally mind set because of all the experience has happened in my life and I don't want to repeat it it is sure that I can judge any of the situation and what to do next thinking about it I got solution any of them but meanwhile I take too much rest of my mind and than taking any decision making myself that is the main reason
On the other hand I have no any of the disturbing of the person at my house so I can think in peaceful atmosphere.
So I am happy with any condition.

I love that, 'the worst case scenario is this but you've already survived it so why not?'

I had a miscarriage too. Years ago. I didn’t realize how common it was until I started talking to people about it. It helps to talk about it. I still blame myself. It was 11 years ago and I have 3 other children.

"If you go into this thinking, "this is the hardest thing you're ever going to do", it'll be the greatest thing you'll ever do." What a great way to look at relationships. Shawn and Andrew have such a sweet, honest, and dedicated relationship. I remember crying with them as they talked about their miscarriage and their loyalty and commitment to each other in one of the hardest moment's of their life together was so special.

I really relate to this I identified myself as a preemie because I was born premature, which I was, but ever since I was 12 I told people I wanted to be a nurse ( neonatal nurse) that took care of babies just like me. I even was interviewed and there is an article about my journey and plans for my future. However, I am realizing now that I could do this career and love it but it would cause me some mental, emotional and physical health issues which my birth has affected me with but working in this career would add to the pain. Now I am trying to mourn this life I planned out with the life I was afraid to dream with careers I was too scared to tell people that's what I wanted to do with the fear of failing as a songwriter, another career within the health field or a professional speaker. I love you KRplus channel and you are going to be a great mama to your baby girl.
