Just imagine someone in the race to push him to the line, he'd be running 9.8. This is how it is people. Usain Bolt made the most money in Track & Field by show boating which separated him from others and created a brand for himself. Remember the Lightening Bolt pose! In order to gain full monetary potential on a World Wide Stage you have to come with more than record breaking performance...you have to be seen and talked about. This projection which leads to popularity creates many endorsement deals. I like the humbler finishers but let's face it, you have to do more to be recognized!

    • @et5222
      @et5222 년 전 +11

      I agree with you about Bolts success, much has been made comparing Tebogo at Cali with Bolt in 2008 Olympics. I see a big big difference however. Bolt knew how to celebrate ("showboat") with joy, looking forward, and also dominating. Tebogo was basically taunting one single opponent for the last 25 meters of the race which is a pretty classless move in a championship many of the worlds U20 elite don't even go to. I hope he learns better at Oregon next year when he has a faster teammate (Micah Williams). Stepping up to age 20 plus he's gonna see some backs, and if he runs the 200 one of those backs will be a guy even younger than him named Knighten. What he did today was very un-Bolt like and is what turns off sponsors. Let's hope he learns from it.

      I was against it first but I think you are 100% right. Not many people realise he broke his own record. Now everybody knows who he is because of the show boating. He is now a big deal in sprint. Many of you have to realise American sprinters or even European get more hype even when they are average. So coming from Botswana he has to do something that will really get the attention of the masses. He has done that so now he needs to manage the next phase wisely
