- Today we have the final episode of Ollie's trip around Korea!
It has been quite a journey, but it's been a real privilege to learn a bit about Korean history, and dive deeper into Korea, get outside of Seoul and see so many traditional markets and beautiful places!
Ollie has come such a long way in his Korean as well, and it's been really satisfying to see how much he's improved in a short period!! If any of you are learning a language then I really recommend full immersion! Although we do not recommend to anyone traveling anywhere without money and/or a phone..!
오늘은 어느덧 올리의 한국 로드트립 시리즈 마지막회에요!
정말 다사다난했지만 서울을 벗어나 한국의 아름다운 경치와 시장들도 구경하며, 한국의 역사에 대해서도 배우고, 한국에 대해 더 깊이 알아갈 수 있었던 소중한 시간이었어요!
올리의 한국어가 진짜 눈에 띄게 늘었고 짧은 시간동안 올리가 얼마나 성장하는지 지켜보는게 너무 뿌듯했어요!! 여러분들도 혹시 언어를 배우고 계시다면 완전 실전에 몰입하는걸 추천드려요! 물론 돈이나 핸드폰 없이 여행하시는 건 권하지 않습니다...!

Awwwwww, what a word from Jonathan...love this series,Josh and Ollie !
Can we just appreciate how, despite being exhausted and hungry, Ollie immediately introduced himself to Jonathan in Korean and was really friendly. And then easily started talking to him in French? I could never be so amiable after being left to fend for myself for such a long day. It would be so easy to get irritable and be too tired for social interaction after that ordeal, but Ollie was still so warm, friendly and polite. Respect, Ollie!

Is that what is called projection? Sorry not really familiar with concept's english translation. For me, since i would be assisted with 2 Korean cameraman(so technically not alone) and i know as a content creator i could use this experience and i know i can make it have an entertainment value. This experience is definitely an A+ scenario. You just going to have to be creative and imaginative.

So true, when this series was announced I was expecting a lot more views as it is something fans have been talking and hinting about. I feel like half way people got to uncomfortable with the ideas and seeing Ollie struggles. Otherwise this is a great series that deserve way more views.

I’ve had trouble watching it because I’m constantly experiencing shared embarrassment and anxiety with Ollie. I love him so much that watching this kills me! I also got a bit uncomfortable with how much Josh seemed to enjoy throwing Ollie into these genuinely difficult and scary situations. I have also had a “lost in a foreign country” experience myself, that was terrifying and ended with me calling people at 3 AM in the middle of Madrid Spain. So I have to work myself up to that kinda thing. 😕

Honestly I could never do what Ollie has done. I would have 100 panic attacks and not get anywhere. Ollie has a really strong personality and I respect him so much.

I almost cry, when Ollie talked with the taxi driver. I feel so sorry for him, because he did a lot of hard work! and everyone knows it! OLLIE! YOU ARE NOT DUMB PERSON! Definitely. I often feel like he isn't supportive enough or too impatient with Ollie. Watching the Jolly videos, Ollie has been making really good progress and had a great technique for learning. And here, in Korea, he's picked everything up incredibly fast. My heart breaks a bit every time someone makes a jab at Ollie's Korean skills.

@@tsuyuasui7297 He learns a new word and phrase and immediately uses it in a sentence, he is not afraid of speaking in case he looks foolish (something many learners struggle with) and he keeps making jokes and having a lot of fun, which definitely helps him remember things. Check out some of his Korean lessons on the Jolly channel, they are super funny.

I feel like the moment Ollie refused to take Josh's hand was the moment that Josh realized that he went too far with this. It's true that Ollie had agreed to this, and it's true that the crew was with him the whole time, but being in a foreign country where you're not fully in control of the language and the cultural nuances and then having to ask people you don't know for help and selling your own shirt for money is flat out humiliating. And terrifying as well, you never know if anyone would take advantage of your situation and get you in real trouble. There's a line that you Cross and it's not funny anymore, and Ollie was a Prince and he handled it perfectly and was incredibly brave, but it doesn't matter that he got the job done because at the end of the day he didn't feel good about it. On the contrary, he felt drained, and hungrey because Josh didn't even leave him enough money to get food and worst of all he felt stupid. And he's truly anything but. He smiled after rejecting Josh's hand but that was a very very real moment. And I think that in that moment it finally hit Josh that he'd truly hurt Ollie. If you notice, and this is the first time I've ever seen this in Ollie, he hardly ever smiled, he only laughed once or twice and he didn't speak to Josh, at all. When the camera lingers on him when he's not talking you could see that something is sitting on his chest really tightly, he looked really really sad, and the way Josh laughed at him instead of teaching him when he wrote Korean wrong (which looks impossible to me, by the way, I would have to do nothing but study 24/7 for a year before I could write like he did, I was honestly impressed) only hurt Ollie more, I think. And that's not fair to him. He was in a sensitive place and it was painful to watch him being so closed off and in his head, but Josh finally trying to take care of him and make sure he eats and rests and going wherever he goes instead of being the lead was pretty moving. He was very soft with him and it was lovely to see. Something very powerful happened to Ollie right there, I think, and it's too bad that he had to get hurt to learn how strong he is. It's really too bad.

well the korean alphabet was designed to be easy to learn, so i’m sure that it wouldn’t take you a whole year. other than that though, i agree with you. taking the phone was fine (otherwise ollie could have searched it all up, therefore not using his korean), but taking the wallet was too far. ollie sold the only food they had and his own shirt to get there and josh just laughs it off. at least josh realized that he went too far. הגר גדליוביץ'

lmfao please so many people have been in worse situations where this was their actual life. he still had a crew member that was bilingual, and korea is not some scary country where you feel like your safety is in jeopardy, and they've been to korea hundreds of times before that. it's not like this is his first time ever and he knows 0 about the language. i went to korea knowing less korean than ollie by myself going to some of the cities they went to and i had so much fun.
