I understand that some people, probably those who don't live in Korea might say that koreans were being too mean. But, with everything aside, something that i want to point out here is that they held a birthday party during their 14 days quarantine. Im not really sure about covid protocols in other parts of the world, but in Korea, the goverment has very strict quarantine rules. Like people would literally get a call from the goverment if their phone don't move for a certain amount of time. This is because they want to prevent people from breaking the rules and making contacts with people. And there have seen so many cases globally where people actually broke the quarantine rules and caused massive group infections. That is why people were freaking out.

Actually, that's not the point. Not only they were ignorant about qurantine, but they also made wrong and late feedback , and didn't comment about confusing insurances.

They apologized multiple times and decided THEMSELVES to stop production for a while to show their audience that what they did was wrong and that they are truly sorry. Like i don’t know what kinda perfect world you think we’re living in where everything is “right”, but you have to be more understanding. People make mistakes and the best they can do is apologize and show it through their actions WHICH THEY DID.

I get if it was a party like how people had claimed then yeah that would of been shitty and get why it would of blown up the way it did. But it wasn't.... It was no different from having the delivery driver or postman drop stuff outside yours place....

I'm Korean. I was disappointed by their response six months ago. But that was six whole months ago. I personally think it's high time we moved on from the mess. I'm sure they've learned from the whole situation, and grown lots from it. I'm glad they are back too!

@@bonajo13125 I was disappointed by the lack of responsibility they showed too, but I have to admit that I was even more disappointed with how Korean fans responded to the entire ordeal.
It's always interesting when 2 different cultures intertwine on social norms. I felt that a lot of the Korean fanbase of Korean Englishman overacted and blew the actions and situation completely out of proportion. I think there's a lack of awareness when it comes to how damaging rampant "cancel-culture" is for not only our societies but our psyche as well, and it seems that Korea has a very toxic cancel-culture that goes unaddressed and simply unnoticed by many Koreans.

@@jadduck I think so too, regarding the cancel culture. But we tend to be very sensitive to anything that could possibly be lawbreaking, or anything involving healthcare.
I feel like Gabi leaving us hanging by not clarifying herself over her statement of paying for healthcare or not became the main issue, and not so much the actual (and fundamental) issue of breaking Korean quarantine protocol, as time went by, and that made me a little sad toward the end too.

Josh and Gabie last year came to Korea since it is some what safer than where they are from and the excuses of Gabies Uterine surgery which my mom did last year. They posted a birthday party video of a Gabie during the 2 weeks of quarantine where they should be doing social distancing between the people who didn't traveled and they are the ones who came from foreign countries. Josh blamed it on the worker who informed them. That worker got almost fired by his lies. Since Korea have the strict quarantine rules like few other countries do they must stay separately. They will be notified even in the airport of how to follow the rules. I recently came to Korea last month in April did two weeks of quarantines doing social distancing, followed the rules, never tried to see my families or relatives and go out. In Canada partying is not allowed and have more strict rules than Korea have.
But they invited their friends over to make a video of a birthday party while in Korea at that time even doing a weddings, funerals, going to pc cafe, karaoke room was very strict and not safe due to covid in Korea. So many netizens realized they should be following the rules. That became a huge problem with them where it even was reported on a Korean news articles.
They faced with law problem now after. Many of us globally are very stressed and sensitive with this pandemic. Not following that quarantine rules can end up spreading the virus in Korea in case if Josh got covid during the flight or something where it can lead up to killing others but luckily they are ok. If Josh got positive in covid spreading the virus ending up killing someone Im pretty sure foreign fans would react differently. Many people following the rules of Quarantine, wearing masks, government support was able to help Korea to be successful with this pandemic.
The problem in the birthday party video was that they weren't even at least wearing the masks and seeing others who not in a quarantine where they should not. After the issue become a huge problem they made 3 late apologizes to Koreans and deleted the videos. Apology became the problem once again. It created a conflict and misunderstanding between Korean fans and foreign fans due to how Josh made the excuses, not claiming to foreigners what he have done wrong, aiming on Korean fans for speaking out for what he have done wrong but calling them toxic doing cancel culture. He even commented once about how he will sue the false, toxic comments to Koreans that was speaking out about the truth mistake he made.
Additionally there was a lot of evidence found on social media where Josh deleted the truth comments.
Also Gabie had problems too which I will explain.
Koreans are upset because Gabie avoided paying taxes that every Korean citizen must pay to receive health benefits. Gabie had a dual citizenship which is seeing Korea as a gullible. (She used a loophole to avoid paying the taxes). Yes, its hard earned money being wasted so that is one reason we are upset or mad.
When the incident happened, they made two separate apologies to both English and Korean viewers like I said. English one victimizing themselves and making it seem Koreans are overreacting. This is not a sincere apology. More like trying to calm the situation down and re upload videos asap for money using the youtube system where its famous for 6 month break where they can make money again.
(Gabie at least now seems sincere but Josh doesent)
Since the english apology letter made it look like Koreans are hunting them down overreacting, the foreigners are now criticizing Korean, telling them to move on, forgiving them instead without even knowing what they done wrong. (This ignorant for foreigners as they weren't affected and is basically being a hypocrite. I doubt you guys will act the same if you were the ones who affected)
Gabie and EnglishMen personally if they sincerely apologized at first and took the consequences instead of victimizing and trying to lie themselves out, this issue wouldn't have become a big issue as it is now. First apology video there was many cheering comments by Koreans saying its ok you can make mistakes. But magic of 6 months was passed finally made two apologizes showed no changes.
In conclusion, to the foreigners welcoming them back. By all means, do so.
Its your freedom. However, stop with criticizing the Koreans since they were the ones affected and you don't know the feelings. Josh basically broke the law in Korea. Many of you guys don't even know what "mistakes" he made be honest.
Its the same thing where foreigners who live in US say its ok to avoid paying American taxes.

They’re acting like they straight up murdered someone for somebody wanting to celebrate their birthday and see their friends. Should they have broken that rule? No, but people are just trying to live their lives so these people need to move on.

@@omegasage777 Some comments are obviously beyond normal (such as saying him a greedy psychopath who sells Korea), but many other comments are suggesting (of course, not in a polite way) of the consequent wrongdoings and most importantly, the inaccurate apologies and lack of description of the legal actions on them.

But one of the biggest reasons is Josh's post, which is now deleted. Josh apologized in Korean and sarcastic in English. I've posted simultaneous posts that diminish the severity of the incident, and there's even some data on it.

As Korean, I agree too.. We seem to be quite strict to people who against law or etc like youtubers. But some have reasons so just take it

Unfortunately, forgiveness and compassion is not something you see a lot of in Korea.

Koreans expect Koreans to be very, VERY moral. Famous people especially. And people do not hesitate to attack another Korean for the most trivial matters in the world. I, a nobody in many occasions, almost got cancelled from social media because some people in my University found my method of coping with my Grandpa's death (humour and faking to be all right) slightly uncomfortable.
Everybody has high expectations on other Koreans. And Gabie, she is almost like a cultural ambassador representing Korea on youtube. Expectations were through the roof. That is why many people are angry, because everybody had too high of an expectation on her.

It always seems that women have it worse on social media. Although, I genuinely don't see where her being a woman plays a role, I notice it's a recurring pattern where women are hated on more here and criticized for everything. It's interesting, because it's clearly Josh who made that mistake to begin with, and for the healthcare stuff, she didn't get any benefits she just thought she would. So.... why is it worse for her? Weird.
