Today we introduce our friends and family to Korean TV!
Over the last year in pandemic we've been watching more TV than ever, and so before people run out of things to watch we thought it was the perfect opportunity to set up some cameras safely in people's homes and introduce them to a whole new world of comedy... starting with my favourite Korean Variety show.
Over the years we've always introduced Korean culture through food, my personal favourite way to experience a new culture! But while Korean cuisine is incredibly diverse and there's plenty of things that we haven't even been able to cover in the last 8 years - there's also many other aspects of Korean culture that I love!
One of those has always been Korean TV, and the first Korean show that I watched growing up was Infinite Challenge, a legendary comedy show that I'm super excited to finally be able to introduce to people here in the UK!

오늘은 저희 친구들과 가족들에게 한국 방송을 처음으로 소개해봤어요! 지난 한 해동안 팬데믹때문에 모두가 어느때보다 TV를 많이 봤는데, 슬슬 볼 게 없어지고 있는 지금이야말로 코미디의 신세계로 초대하기에 완벽한 타이밍이라고 생각했답니다! 안전하게 각자의 집에서, 제일 먼저 제 최애 예능 프로그램을 보여주기로 했어요.
지난 몇 년간 저희는 제가 가장 좋아하는 방식인, 음식을 통해서 한국 문화를 소개해왔어요! 한국 음식이 워낙 엄청나게 다양하다보니 8년의 시간에도 불구하고 아직 모두 다루지 못했지만, 음식 말고도 제가 사랑하는 한국 문화가 많거든요!
그 중 하나가 한국의 방송 프로그램이고, 무한도전은 제가 어릴 때 가장 먼저 접한 한국 예능이에요. 이 전설적인 예능 프로그램을 드디어 영국에 소개하게 되어서 정말 설레고 기대된답니다!!
오늘 영상에 나오는 무한도전 방송분은 MBC에서 저작권을 구입해 사용했습니다.
영상의 모든 출연진을 포함한 스태프 전원은 촬영 이전 코로나19 음성 확진을 받았습니다.
모든 촬영 과정은 정부의 방역 지침에 따라 전문가의 확인을 받아 진행되었습니다.

저는 우리가 이 장면을 보고 마냥 웃을수 있었던 이유가 유느님과 김태호피디의 수년동안 쌓아왔던 케미스트리를 알고있기 때문이란 생각이 들더라구요. 모르는 사이에선 실례가 될수있는 심한 장난이 정말 친한 친구나 연인 사이에선 진짜 재미있는 일이 되듯이 유느님과 제작진이 수년간 쌓아온 친분을 우리는 밑바탕에 이해하고 있고 저분들은 모르고 보고있기 때문에 다른 반응이 나올 수 있다는 생각이 드네요ㅋㅋ

This episode was so good for many reason. First of all we got something other than food episode. Next, this is the first time we have seen korean variety show being introduced. And lastly the guest of this episodes were wonderful and their reaction were brilliant. I LOVED THIS EPISODE and would want part 2 with running man!

예전엔 그냥 생각없이 재미있게 봤는데 공포증이 있는 분을 저런예능을 하게한건 조끔 불편하게한건 맞네요. 우리가 생각이 약간 짦았다고 생각이 듭니다. 물론 보는 우리는 진짜 헐리곱터도 아니고 높은곳에서 뛰어내리는게 아니란걸 알기에 웃기만 했지만요.유재석씨 존경하고 배울점이 많은 분.사랑합니다.^^

I love them all but my absolute favorite people to watch is the family with the kids. It's so wholesome to see them. Maybe because i never had anything remotely like that growing up so seeing them just eat and watch something silly and enjoying it together as a family. It just makes my heart happy 🥺

예전에 유럽에는 남들의 트라우마나 외모, 인종, 장애 등을 폄하하는 Freak show 같은 아픈 역사가 있어서 좀 조심스러운 분위기임. 아 물론 미국은 좀 논외. 헐리웃처럼 엔터테이먼트에 관대한 편이라서. 반대로 동양은 일본의 엽기적인 예능 스타일을 한국이 따라했고 이젠 중국이 아예 프로그램 포맷까지 카피함. 솔직히 재밌긴하지만 트라우마를 건드리거나 외모를 폄하하는 무한도전 포맷은 구시대적임. 그래서 요즘 한국 예능도 유퀴즈처럼 토크 중심으로 가거나 피지컬적으로 위험한 포맷은 자제하는편. 대신 그런 엽기예능이 유튜브쪽으로 넘어왔음

왜냐하면, 해외에는 비슷한 컨셉으로 비행기 몰카를 당한 패리스 힐튼이 있거든요.
시기상으로 무도가 먼저이긴 하지만,
그 때 패리스 힐튼이 얼마나 정신이 나갔었는지를 생각하면 그런 생각을 할만 하죠.
하지만, 무도는 예능이었고 이미 멤버들은 자신이 무도 컨텐츠 촬영이라는 것(안전에 대한 신뢰)을 알고있었지만,
패리스 힐튼 때는 정말 실제상황이라고 착각하게 만들었다는 것(목숨의 위험)의 차이죠.

입술이 컨트롤 안되니 입이 벌려진 상태겠지요. 입 벌려진 그 상태로 바람이 나가니 바람의 힘이 옆으로 퍼지게 됩니다.

사실 무한도전은 상당히 깊이있는 주제들이 내재되어있고 그 안에서 효과를 높이기 위한 뚜렷한 캐릭터들도 존재합니다. 때문에 리얼버라이어티 라 볼수도 있지만 재미나 무게감 해소를 위한 과장이나 인위적 조정들이 있는 것도 사실입니다. 그 주제들은 한국 역사, 문화, 사회, 시사적 이해가 있을때 함께 공감하고 즐기면서 웃어넘길 수 있게 되는거 같습니다.
