British Highschoolers Mindblown by Korean Shaved-Ice! 🤯

“I’m not really sure if Korean people truly know how really special their food really is” Idk why.. but this sorta made me feel emotional. As a Korean American, my childhood was spent trying to fit in this American mold.. and there were countless days in which I was genuinely scared to open my lunch box, in fear of getting judged for the food of my culture and people. I vividly remember a Korean classmate of mine who was teased for bringing Jjajang sauce for lunch. I no longer hide my love and pride for my culture but it makes me so happy to see that the next generations of BIPOC kids might have it a little better than we did.. with more representation, respect, and pride for our beautiful mix of cultures.

These high school children series are my favourite by far. These students are so pure, honest and very open. May they grow to become interested, broad-minded, tolerant adults who embrace different cultures.

All these boys are really funny. Love the Jack and Keaton combo. Was really laughing when I noticed the usually really chatty Keaton just let Jack take over while he kept eating the Binshoo. Laughed the hardest when Keaton breaks out with "A whole new world..." and Jack finishing it. Malachi is just funny. These boys are so wonderfully open minded and so much fun. Yes Josh and Ollie, please take them to try fried chicken. Of course they can't have beer, but I am sure they will still love it.

The general British vocabulary is just so beautiful. You won’t hear a lot of English spoken in the way they do - and this is just based on videos and very few personal interactions. And these are just teenagers too. Even UK pop artists and actors have a really incredible way of articulating their sentiments.

언어 구사력이 정말 남다르네요. 영국의 저런 언어문화는 정말 다른 어느나라에도 비교할수가 없을듯..........남녀노소 모두가 어휘가 풍부하고 유머가 넘치고, 진짜 셰익스피어의 나라 답습니다.

51, and went through a period of feeling shame for being different growing up as Korean/American. My kids are 1/2 Korean and Filipino and they are SO proud of their dual cultures and are so open minded. I love seeing British kids appreciating and embracing the Korean food. Warms my heart ❤️

As a Korean myself, I think it's safe to say that every one of us have blown into our bingsoo once in our life! I absolutely LOVED seeing the boys experiencing one of the most famous desserts we have to offer. Hope they can come to Korea very soon!

As an Asian, i was thoroughly surprised when i learned that not everyone ate green tea ice cream. It's personally my favorite flavor of ice cream and nearly all treats.

I love how this experience has most likely opened their minds to trying other culture’s cuisines because they were introduced to Korean food in such a pleasant manner. I love the high schoolers series and look forward to seeing them in actual South Korea enjoying food there.

I was actually surprised that green tea flavoured things arent as popular in the UK considering how much yall like tea. Here in Asia (or at least in my country), you see green desserts a lot and it's usually the first one i reach for. Matcha (/nokcha) is such a good flavour

Our entire family always waits for these high schoolers to come on this channel. Each student is always so absolutely delightful and expressive. We look forward to more episodes with all of them. Good call on having them as your guests and massive kudos to their parents for raising such sparkly special children.

The taxi drivers brought me to this channel but I stayed for these kids. They’re so fun to watch. I think I’ve watched all the videos with them at least twice now. They’re so adorable and their reactions are so entertaining and endearing- genuine and funny. They’re all very charming young men. I hope we get to see more of them in the future in this channel!

This past year I got hooked on Korean food preparation and cooking videos. Now I'm hooked on these videos. I hope Josh keeps making them with each new year's students from FBS.

아이들이 어쩜 저렇게 맑고 순수하냐. 우리 음식을 멋지게 표현하는 것도 고마운데 그것보다 아이들의 저 모습을 보고 있는 게 힐링이 된다. 우리 고딩들도 저럴까? 생각해 보면 그렇지는 않은 거 같다. 다른 관점에서 행복할 수야 있겠지만 음식 하나에 저렇게 행복해 할 수 있는 것도 여유에서 비롯된 건데 그게 물질적인 여유라기보다는 뭐랄까 삶을 누리고 바라보는 관점에서의 여유인 거 같다. 나태와 여유를 구분 지을 필요는 반드시 있는 것이고, 저 친구들에게는 분명한 여유가 느껴진다. 아주 순수하고 맑은 결의 것으로 말이다.

I had a Korean friend whose grandmother introduced me to many of their foods. Each day after school she would have a spread on the table for me to try and my only request was to wait until afterwards to tell me what each food was. There were plenty of strangely delicious items, but to-date I will crave Ojingau-bokkeum (spicy squid), like kids crave sugar. I suggest to anyone, try everything from everywhere you can.

When Keaton started singing that was the end of it, that gives me so much laughter.

They’d be surprised to know that green tea is like THE flavor/scent here in Asia! We put green tea in everything from green tea latte & green tea mochi all the way to green tea soap, skincare, creams even perfume 😂🤣
On the other hand, in my country we love to have slices of mango dipped in chili-brown sugar sauce. It’s delicious!

What an EPIC series it would be if you guys actually took them to Korea... Experience the culture, history, and food of Korea. They are so open to try and so honest about what they taste without offending anyone. It would be awesome to see them see how Korea is cosmopolitan now but has a rich and long history... When I visited my friends in Korea for the first time, I had bingsoo every day, no joke. It was seriously like a whole new world to me. I had had Hawaiian shaved ice before that, but bingsoo is a new level of milky, melt-in your mouth, snow-like shaved ice. I can totally relate to these guys' feeling LOL
