i hate to say that i’m late to this section of the channel. i cried genuine tears of happiness watching the boys get told they were going to korea and how grateful each one was. it’s so pure and encouraging to see how sweet these boys are, it’s not very common these days. i hope they can stick around for a long time!

@@deereyes9094 When Josh and Ollis friend Andy was invited to Korea he was so over the moon after the trip that he compared everything to Korea. their food, the people, culture and so on. So whenever someone talked about a new experience Andy would, more subconciously than on purpose, mention korea. for example if someone explaind how amazing Mexican food is, he'd say "Do you know what is also amazing, Koran food. Let me tell you about the korean fried chicken i had...." and so on.
its not something people do on purpose but it was such an incredible experience for him, and many others that had the opportunity to be in korea with josh and olli, that they would constantly talk about it.

Being a teacher in the United States, I find myself getting so emotional about the wonderful experience these students had, and what an outstanding group of guys they are

Can you imagine you're the kid where this is your first ever plane ride and holiday experience?!? What a way to experience it all for the first time. We've been waiting sooooo long for this trip to happen since that bet over the spicy noodles, and I am super excited even from just the first episode of what's to come. Thank you for making these boys dreams come true. Everyone deserves something this fantastic in their lives!
And because they are such great kids, I wanted them to see and do the absolute best of Korea, however, this episode was very disappointing. I couldn't believe it. During the fly over Korea, you would see a sea of white condos in between mountains and greenery that's pretty shocking and unique, then once you drive into Seoul centre, your heart starts pumping with excitement because of the dynamism and inability to set your eyes on one thing for more than a second. There was none of this. They might as well have just flown from Birmingham to London for all I could tell.
Street food should have been experienced in one of the countless super kinetic neighbourhood hangouts in either Gangnam or Gangbuk. As Max said, just walking in the streets with the general population would have been awesome for a first night experience. We got none of that. Next week's clips didn't thrill either. All of this could be done in any other country. I don't get it. Perhaps, it will get better as the weeks go on, but please, there is so much culture in Korea. Isn't that why the boys are there--to experience this together? It just seems all a bit odd to me. I was really looking forward to experiencing it with them and for those unfamiliar with South Korea, to enjoy it as well. My heart is on the floor.
If I have to give the benefit of the doubt...I don't know...perhaps they were being cautious and trying to avoid crowded areas... But still, South Korea is one of the safest countries in the world, ask anyone who either lives there or has been there as a tourist. It can't be due to Covid, cause just find any street walking videos on youtube and you'll see people out and about without a care.
Some random bunsik place in the basement of a large complex for a first night meal? Huh? It can't be funding, cause the Englishman has been making a killing due to his Korean viewership and fans and most of this would have been sponsored by his Korean associations. His wife is Korean, she would know stuff. I'm scratching my head.

@@haeleelee6885 I agree that it would have been nice to see them walk around the neighborhood and experience street food outside, but that doesn't mean it won't happen in another episode! I think it's important to keep in mind just how much work goes on behind the scenes that we don't get to see. They're filming and traveling in a pretty large group; we mostly see the boys and Josh in the video but if you read the description, there's also 3 teachers that came, along with all the crew and cameramen. That's at least 15 people that they have to move around and find large enough spaces to film with.
Additionally, the boys were probably exhausted after a 12 hour flight, not to mention the time zone difference you have to adjust to. For Bobby, it was his first time flying internationally and while that's an exciting experience, it can also be really draining and at times, overwhelming. There's always time to explore the city when they're feeling more well-rested.
There's other elements that could have factored into choosing a more controlled environment, like making sure there's A/C, weather, noise levels, and space. It looks like the restaurant sponsored this episode so that's a huge financial factor too. They probably just wanted the boys to be comfortable on their first night in Korea. The channel has worked with them for over a year at this point and I'm sure this was a collaborative effort with their school/parents. They probably want to space things out so the boys have time to adjust to a new environment without getting burnt out, let's trust they know what's best for them and that they'll get to experience everything Korea has to offer ❤
@@haeleelee6885 I know, right? I've flown into Seoul multiple times--flights anywhere between 14 hours to 21 hours. And no matter how tired I was, the minute we get to the hotel, I'm all pumped up (hotels in Korea are generally pretty topnotch and you can't go wrong). The first thing I want to do is shower and go right for the streets. Just people watching alone and snacking here and there is the best fun. The loud Kpop music that blares out from each store keeps you going and your heart pumping for more. You don't really feel the fatigue until the next day, mid afternoonish but you have to stay with their time or it'll mess you up for the rest of the week. Next week's clips look fun but as you said, could be anywhere. I find the boys cultured and inquisitive that they'd want to see and do more cultural stuff too. Max's "architecture" 😉
I'M SORRY but i cried watching bobby's reactions and teary-eyed smile when he saw the view in his hotel room!! he looked so amazed and excited trying all the food. the fact that it's his first holiday, first time on a plane... i'm just so happy for him!:') (i'm genuinely happy for all of them obviously!

First of all, BOBBY is the mood! This series is more like Josh and Ollie onboarding their proteges and training the next generation of Englishmen getting acquainted with the Korean culture. Personally, I think this is the best way to combat conflicts due to cultural differences and broaden the spectrum of acquaintance and acceptance among people of various origins.

I was in Seoul for two weeks in June. It was my first time there and I appreciate being able to relive my travels through these guys. These kids are the absolute best. Bobby is a genuine sweetheart. I’d watch a series of these kids traveling the world. Thank you so much for doing this for them and for taking us along.
Their excitement entering their hotel rooms really took me back to travelling with friends when i was young. so cool.

The enthusiasm and appreciation for this trip from these students is so wonderful. My son who is 1/2 Korean (my side) is 16 yrs old so I love watching these kids have fun.
As a British student myself I'm surprised how polite these lads are.
Maybe it's because I come from South Yorkshire, but at least 80% of the lads from my school couldn't even say their pleases and thank you's.
I don't remember the point I was trying to make, but it restores my faith to know that not every British teenage boy is like the ones at my school
From what I can see, it looks like the school they go to focuses a lot on cultivating courtesy & professionalism.

Most of these boys were/are prefects and head boys though, so they are bound to know how to act polite to be fair

I can't stop smiling! Bobby was definately the star of this episode, giving everything a fair go without hesitation and the constant gratitude towards Josh and the crew was so lovely to see. Super keen for every episode in this series!

I think if I am not mistaken it is because Bobby said from the episode where they told them that they are going to Korea, he says that he had never been into a holiday or even in a plane.

This is so incredible! my 8-year-old son and I love watching all your videos, he went for the first time to Sri Lanka (I am half Sri Lankan) and had a similar experience, (but as an 8-year-old boy) full of excitement, adventure, and curiosity, a life event that will forever have changed him. Thank you, Josh and Olly, and everyone on your team for showing us how important it is for us to explore because through this we connect, and of course, it is best done through food! I live near(about 500M away) the train station they went to eat the first Korean food in Korea and I went to the station to meet my friend that came from Busan that day. And I suddenly saw the crew walking in the station and going to eat and I was really shocked to see them also in Korea but even infront of me lol

Bobby is SUCH A SWEETIE. The sheer joy on his face :')) and like he's so sensitive to spicy food but he's such a trooper!! You can tell he is one of the most thankful to be there
All the kids are hilarious but Bobby's joy about everything is so wholesome! I remember that excitement of travelling internationally when I was younger, I'm glad he's gotten to experience that in such an awesome city with a knowledgeable crew.

I have been waiting for the first episode and did not disappoint. It would have been nice if the footage was little longer, such as 20 - 30 minutes. Great footage and watching these young and bright high schooler's full of energy and vicariously watching their genuine radiant smiles are very addictive and made my day. I can already tell and if there is an Oscar award for KRplus videos, these series would be the one. Can't wait to see the next episode. Kudos and respect to all Korean Englishmen crews.

Totally agree! I would definitely watch even if it is 20-30 min videos, it’s like they’re taking us with them and we get to see their pure authentic emotions which you can never have too much of. Bobby’s reactions are so wholesome throughout the entire video!!
Hopefully next episode is a bit longer 🙏🏽 technically they traveled most of the day and it was late during this video so if the next video is the whole day might have 20 minutes !
