Today we bring you the second episode of bringing the Korean food we miss the most to the UK, and this time we get the help of an actual epic Korean Fried Chicken place (the same place we took Jacob Batalon, Spiderman's best friend!).
And after 2 full days of multiple attempts and numerous failures on our behalf… the end result is something you're not going to want to miss.
Should we open a Korean Chicken shop here in the UK? Can we make any food without Gabie's help? Watch to the end to find out!
오늘은 저희가 영국에 있으면서 가장 그리운 한국 음식 직접 만들기에 두 번째로 도전해봤어요. 이번엔 진짜 한국 치킨 브랜드의 도움을 받을 수 있었어요(저희가 스파이더맨 배우 제이콥 바탈론 님과 같이 갔던 곳이에요!)
그리고 이틀 내내 시도와 실패를 반복한 후에 나온 결과는… 말로 설명할 수 없었답니다.
저희 영국에서 한국 치킨집 오픈해도 될까요? 저희가 과연 가비의 도움 없이 요리를 할 수 있긴 할까요? 정답이 궁금하시다면 끝까지 봐주세요!

Ollie was like: the first wife does not ask the second wife for help. It’s embarrassing.
For anyone that has never fried something:
LEAVE THE BASKET IN THE FRYER: just as you (rarely) start cooking something in a cold pan on the stove the heat of the basket helps it to not stick to product
Drop in product slowly when it has a batter (as seen after Gabie got there) it starts to form a crust on the bottom which helps elevate sticking to the basket even more
Shake basket every once in a while to move pieces around
Maximum Line on fryer is more for frozen items than fresh (frozen items a lot of times have freezer burn on them creating extra moisture on the outside of the product which can lead to a boil over because water/oil do not mix)
Do not over crowd the fryer (especially with frozen products) everything you put in drops the temperature of the fryer. When you get greasy fried food it is (more often than not) caused by a crowded fryer and the temperature dropping too much.

@@rando9326 you don't put things to fry into the basket then put the basket into the fryer. you start with the basket in the fryer and you place the item into the oil, don't drop it. You're going to get your hand close to the oil so you will need to be slow and smooth so not to splash the oil. Don't drop it into the oil like the guys did before gabby got there, you're asking for some really bad burns and possibly a grease fire if you are doing it over flame.
As a former KFC manager, this is a perfect summation of the issue with the first batch. The only thing I would add is that the temperature issue is actually huge with these smaller fryers, they don't really have that much oil, and the heating element is not the most robust ever. So they drop temp really fast.
I'm halfway through but I feel like Gabbie reviewing the footage afterwards for this video was laughing the entire time.

이야 이번 60계 치킨 광고 마케팅은 정말 감탄이 나온다.. 진심으로 훌륭한데? 유료광고 표시를 붙이고도 리얼한 반응을 이끌어내는 방법은 영상내 등장인물에게 광고인걸 모르게 하는거 라는걸
생각한 사람은 많지만 이 정도로 훌륭하게 결과물이 나온건 본적이 없다. 광고주, 광고하는 사람의 속물근성의 너무 적나라하게 보여 역한 광고들이 있는 반면, 이 광고는 정말 신박하고 창의적인 방법으로
광고로써의 역함은 커녕 심지어 약간의 감동까지 느껴진다.... 이건 진짜로..경외심이 드는데

(전직)치킨집 딸입니다. 제 부모님의 노하우 말씀 드리자면 치킨은 온도를 다르게 하여 두번 튀길것(처음엔 중간 온도로 속까지 익히기,두번째는 강한 온도로 수분을 날리면서 바삭한 식감을 위해 튀길것) 닭을 사람나이로 대입하자면 한국은 만16세 이하에 도축을 해서 닭이 작아서 조리가 금방 끝나고 부드럽고 연함 그래서 영국닭을 쓸 경우 염지 과정에는 포크나 작은 칼로 구멍을 많이 내야 염지도 잘 스며들고 닭이 속까지 잘 익음. 튀김망안에 처음부터 넣음 붙어버리니 조심하고 튀김망을 이용해 치킨을 들었다놨다해서 온도 조절할것(계속 담그고 있으면 기름의 온도가 계속 올라가서 겉은 타고 속은 안 익는 불상사가 생김)기름은 물과 다르게 일정온도를 유지해도 과열로 타는 경우가 많으니 온도 조절 잘 하고 튀김내용물을 한꺼번에 많이 넣으면 온도가 많이 떨어지니 온도 체크하면서 튀김 내용물 넣으세요

튀김채는 기름통에 넣어놓고 치킨반죽을 빠르게 기름으로 바로 넣어주셔야 들러붙지 않아요
그렇죠. 그래야 들러붙지 않고 깔끔하게 뒤처리도 가능하지요.

Dear Josh and Ollie, I'm Shakir from Malaysia and i worked as a chef. Dude basically you're doing everything right, until the part where you submerge the chicken into the oil.
Pro tip :
1. Never put too much chicken in the basket or don't use any. (it works even better without it)
2. Make sure the temperature is hot enough or just right before put in the chicken.
3. Once you submerge the chicken into the oil for atleast 20 seconds, you need to shake the basket vigorously in order to stop them to stick onto the basket or until the chicken floats (the chicken will gladly release itself and have a great oil sauna).
4. Never use tongs, you can use your hands. Hold a piece and submerge it only the tip, let it fry a little and let it swim.
5. 70's Gabbie sure will curse at you guys in french if she sees all of these chickens stucked to the basket hahaha.

Would it be because they were putting the chicken in the basket BEFORE they fry it? Gabie was putting the chicken directly in the oil, not in the basket...
@@banano826 like i said, you can put the chicken in the basket first but later on you have to shake it when you submerge the chicken. Or you can put it straight away in the oil like i mention no need to use a basket and also like gabie did it.

Same, I'm in the middle of my shift and I just punched in for my first 15 minute break when I got the notification. Contemplated if I should eat breakfast or watch the video. I chose the video and regretted it. So torturous for the first 4 mins and kept on thinking "Where is Gabie and why did they not call her on the first 2 minutes?!"

짜파치킨 나오자마자 시켜본 사람으로써... 순한맛은 이도저도 아닌 밍숭맹숭한 맛이고 매운맛은 진짜 스읍 하면서도 계속 손이 가는 맛이라 드시고 싶으면 매운맛 드세요... 중독된 것처럼 한두개 집어먹다보면 어느새 다먹어져있어욬ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
초반에 치킨이 망에 달라붙은 이유는 망의 바닥 면적이 좁아서 치킨끼리 서로 붙어있었기 때문이고 치킨을 튀기실때 미리 튀김망 위에 몽땅 올린뒤 넣어서 튀기지 말고, 튀김망을 미리 넣어놓고 한조각씩 순차적으로 담궈야해요!
그래야 적은 기름으로도 달라붙지 않습니다.
물론 치킨이 잠길정도의 기름은 있어야 합니다

When Gabie says 'This is really spicy', that means it's literally even spicy to Koreans...... Which is able to burn your tongue.
People tend to lose their spicy tolerance when they leave their country to live in another unless that country also has a spicy food culture which the UK doesn't have. They may still be able to eat spicy food but not at the level they use to be able to take.
^ and actually a lot of Koreans don't have super high spicy tolerance.

메이저에서도 가끔이긴 하지만 썩은 기름으로 튀긴 냄새, 색, 향 있습니다.
룰대로 안하는 돈받고 팔면 안되는걸 하는 점두들이 있으니 마케팅부터 때려박는 것이겠죠.

일제때 f를 ㅍ가 아니라 ㅎ으로 발음했기때문에 한국식 발음이 아니라 일본식 발음으로 후라이드가 된거에요..
그외에도 한국 생활 곳곳에 ㅎ으로 발음되는 f가 상당히 많은데요 전국민이 조금 개선할 필요가 있습니다..
일본 영어발음이 정말 최악이라고 해외평가가 많은데 우리는 우리언어로만 표현하면 대부분 발음표기가 가능하기때문에 저런 미개한 발음을 따라해서는 안됩니다!
